If, and that is a big if, they get their stuff together, this could be a Furniture Row type situation. FRR went from back marker to champ contenders in a few years. RWR is winning Top Fuel NHRA events, so as a company they know how to win. Sounds like they are bringing in people and decided to go serious about their cup program.

I absolutely agree with how you explained it, it's absolutely time for RWR to step up and make the necessary commitment to the cup team, we all know what Tommy Baldwin brings and as you guys said, Brad is in it to bring RFK to the prominence it once was, he has taken RFK from the back of the field to being a contender, I'm a huge Justin Hailey fan and also thought WTF is he thinking, but as you have said, if they do what they have promised, Justin will definitely deliver. Great show guys.

This feels less about RWR and more about Ford. Like, the Ford talent pool has been dwindling pretty fast. You got 5 ford running Xfinity (With 1 Cup caliber driver) 5 Ford Trucks (With maybe 1 Cup caliber driver right now). Harvick's leaving, Almirola probably gone; you need Cup ready drivers now, and don't have any in-house who are ready. So they get Josh Berry, they get Justin Haley.
This is really more about needing more talent than wanting more.

It’s not like the Kaulig cars are elite equipment. I think Haley is having a similar thought process that Legacy MC had, were Kaulig is not a priority under the Chevy umbrella. Hendrick, RCR, Trackhouse, and maybe Jr Motorsports in the future are all coming before Kaulig and Legacy. Spire may jump Kaulig with how LaJoie has performed and the rumors of Andretti with Gainbridge coming aboard.
Going to RWR, with an increased alliance with RFK, means Haley would be the focal driver at a team with increased factory support. Penske and RFK come first, but then who? SHR post Harvick? If they are essentially an extension of RFK, I’d see Justin Haley’s move as lateral in 2024, and an upgrade long term.
Cody Ware never had cup level talent. But Jenson Button has top 15 speed at the road courses. JJ Yeley has had success at the ovals. David Ragan has run well at superspeedways. And I don’t think it’s controversial to say 25 year old Haley is a better driver today than the names who are driving for RWR this year and years past, much less Haley a few years done the line with more experience after getting used to the ford environment.

    • @skylerlysek9231

And most people seem to forget the FRM is part of the RFK alliance. The FRM cars have showed speed lately and have run competitively.

I give Rick ware credit. He went out to get newman, jenson button, cole custer, Todd gilliland. Robby Benton, tommy Baldwin, now Justin haley. Rick ware is bringing in pieces to improve his program. I don’t see spire doing that with the 77. Let’s face it, Ty Dillon has been garbage. 77 hasn’t been competitive. Rick ware had Joey hand last season do a few races and he looked impressive.
Brad keselowski even showed up to meet with Rick ware, and Justin haley. Rwr and roush fenway with brad looks like a good alliance.
Riley herbst has been decent in his starts this season.
2 cars that need to be looked at right now? 78 of live fast and the 77.
B.J. McLeod needs to either hire a better driver than himself or get a technical alliance with another team. The 77 , it’s horrible. Absolutely horrible. When I heard Ty was going to the 77. I knew it was doomed.
Rick ware and his cars can’t improve with josh bilicki and Cody ware and those guys. Bringing in newman who knows good equipment, he can give great feedback to say: do this, do that, don’t do that.
By bringing in newman, custer, Button, haley. Now you can see where you are, where to improve, so that his team can improve in running order while the 77 and 78 are still terrible.
