@@javiruiz8365 I don't know if it's true, but there was a rumor that there was a certain scene or scenes she wanted changed in the 1st movie and was basically told to shut up and just act what was in the script.
I think she was able to negotiate more control in Sister Act 2. So I'm not sure if she didn't want to do it but it was more of she wanted more say.

Omg, the fact that Whoopi threw the kids a graduation bc of filming....that was so beautiful & sweet of her. Whoopi deserves all her flowers! I loved being able to see the cast of one of my favorite childhood movies. 🥰❤

Yall do not realize how many replays this movie has received over the years for me. It is one of my favorite childhood films ever. To see everyone reunited after 30 years is certainly a highlight of 2024 on The View. I really appreciate them doing this. 🙌🏽

I knew Tanya was a gospel singer, but I didn’t even realise she was in The War & Treaty until now, because she changed her last name from Blount to Trotter. I discovered their music through Leslie Jordan. He loved them so much, and I know Tanya and her husband were heartbroken when he passed away.
I didn't see her here, but I just found out that the student who played Maria from the 'Mary had a little lamb' scene is currently playing John Bennett's mom in the TV series, "Ted." Her name is Alanna Ubach. Congrats to her.

This movie is so special to my family and I. My granny loved this movie so we watched together all the time. When she passed, we went to her house after the funeral and the whole family sang O Happy Day in her living room. She would have been beaming.
I can relate to that. N sorry for your loss... My Granny also loved this movie bein that she was heavily into church n us grandkids were the ghetto kids who needed guidance. So it resonates wit me big. I lost her in 2013 right after my mom passed from cancer in 09. N they both loved that movie. Jumping Jack Flash was actually the first movie I ever remember seein as a kid wit both of em 😢
The Sister Act II Reunion is one of my favorite episodes of the season! I loved seeing everyone on the show together!
They did not have the main character, but had people that I don’t even remember after watching the movie dozens of times. Even background actors with one line like Whoopi’s daughter. 🫃🤷♂️

I met Tanya Blunt Trotter at a Funeral. I had to be like 10, but she was soooo sweet & even gave me an autograph! I was soooo Happy because Sister Act 2 was one of my FAV movies as a Child ! So Happy to see this Reunion #Amazingggg 😊
My 13 yr old finally sat down and watched this with me last weekend. He loves to sing and dance so I thought why not but it didn't work. He was happy he watched it but was sad it took so long. This was one of my favorite movies growing up. I watched it every day after school.
In my town Catholic church and school attendance went up and in black churches (my church included) the number of youth choirs exploded. My youth choir almost got a record deal (long story).
My jaws are hurting because I'm grinng so hard. And, my tears are running because I'm so happy for Ms. Whooping. I'm excited for the kids and the joy they have fie each other.

My name is Michael Whyte, I'm from Nigeria, now living in New York. I've watched both shows and even own the DVDs! Honestly, Sister Act 1 & 2 had a good and wonderful influence on my music career. When I gained admission to the University to study Performing Arts, we had music conducting exams, and I went out of the conventional way of conducting and adopted Whoopi's conducting style, which I saw in the show. That made me one of the top students in the class! 😂 Thank you, Whoopi! for mentoring me from afar. But Whoopi, this may sound crazy 🤪 I really will love to meet you in person that will be a dream come true!!!!!!

This was so awesome to see! In the finale when the three girls sing their trio, “come and join the chorus” it gives my husband chills every time! He will replay it three or four times. We still watch this movie every time it comes on.
I love this movie so much, I use to watch it over and over as a child.... Even though am I adulthood I now believe that Oceanview high school gospel choir should have won the competition..... Cuz that song they sung Lord send a revival was 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I couldn't get enough of this movie when I was a kid. The movie would go off, I'd rewind the tape and watch it again. I had the biggest crush on "Ahmad".
I'm so happy they confirmed the love that resonated on screen was genuine. That's really what moved me. I believed the students were friends and they love they had for Sister Mary Clarence. I believed the nuns were friends. Sister Act 2 is a film where you can tell everyone is genuinely enjoying themselves during filming. I'll always love this movie. Peace and love to them all for making my childhood that much happier and for giving me the chance to relive some great memories ❤!
