I still haven't made it down there, maybe this summer. Assuming you're referring to the D&H Freight Main (NS Freight Main), the ownership was A&S-D&H-GTI-CP-NS. Not NYC-PC-CR.
Thanks so much for watching! I’ll have to change that in the description. I highly recommend to go this time of year before the foliage grows back in the spring. 🚂💨
Interesting video. It I is breaking my heart that I cannot find my grandfather’s logbook which had some of his GG1 runs listed. He was an engineer for the Pennsy. Growing up in a town in N.J. which was on the Northeast Corridor I made many trips into Penn Station on trains pulled by GG1’s. In June of 1968 when I was about 11 years old my sister and I went down to the Rahway N.J. station to watch Robert F. Kennedy’s funeral train pass through. They went through slowly and we could see the casket. They retired the last GG1 in May of 1983.
Thanks so much for watching! Hopefully it’ll turn up soon! That’s amazing, unfortunately I missed seeing these beautiful locomotives in service. I saw they did a restoration run in the 80s and it actually stopped at Leeman Place Junction with CN 89 (Strasburg).
Neat to hear your experiences with GG1's! I saw many run on the Northeast Corridor, mostly through Princeton Junction, when I was a kid, but as far as I know I never rode behind one. I really miss those days, the GG1's were special!
@@FordEnthusiast413 that's awesome! I loved how I'd see the GG1's pulling both freight and passenger trains. It was super cool when they stop at the platform to pick up passengers, and then you'd hear the deep whir of the electric motor as it accelerated away.
Cool vid Nick, It's a bummer seeing those two wonderful ladies wasting away out there, hopefully they eventually end up in museum's so they can be enjoyed by all.
Hello Nick. Very interesting to see GG1's rotting in the woods. Thanks for videoing them. Crazy how both of your cameras were corrupted. Glad you were able to get to Timonium. I had a great day there as well.
Can't believe these are about 15 mins where I went to college. I'll be heading up soon to take a look. The rust on the side of that first GG-1 is appalling
They are frozen in time. We found that people were extremely respectful and just wanted photos with them. I definitely recommend checking out the other cars as well. Thanks for watching! 🚂💨
Despite your technical difficulties, this was a great video, wouldnt have know if ya didnt tell us. love the GG1's, and the red coach and the hoist truck at the end were amazing.
Awesome finds out there! #4909 was indeed Tuscan Red originally. That's the one I bought in N scale when we went to Altoona. I really hope they can fix those up and that it won't be their final resting place. They look very out of their element there, but it's great that you were able to look at them. Also fun to see that there's other abandoned stuff in the area to check out.
Yeah they are about 50 -100 miles off course lol I have no idea how they got there 😂. Thanks so much for watching! That’s so cool that’s the one you bought
Fantastic video Nick. This was so cool that you were able to view up close these two awesome GG1s. I wish someone would restore those GG1s!! What a great locomotive!! Wish they were still running today!
Hi Nic we really need to talk. Im an author also and when your in the woods and both cameras die. I know what it is and its not ghosts. Im also a Bigfoot researcher too.
Glad we were able to salvage what we could of our footage. Was a great day seeing so many old RR relics. Thanks for joining me.
Me too! Definitely a freaky phenomenon! I had an awesome time as well! Maybe next time we’ll catch a train?! 🚂💨
Awesome Old GG1’s👍👍👍
Very kool thanks for sharing 🚂❤️👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much!

@@JamieMakin I was lucky to see a GG-1 pulling a long freight train through Princeton Junction back in the late 70s

Definitely agree with you there! I wish I could bye one and preserve them. I’m sure they aren’t too expensive, thanks so much for watching!
Great finds bud! So cool to just find them sitting there. Thanks for sharing. I love G's.
Wish we could take these back south east where they belong. It was such a great adventure
Cool video!! I can’t believe they abandoned this beautiful engine. Absolutely unbelievable.
Thanks so much! I know , they need to come home to PA
Hello Nick. Very interesting to see GG1's rotting in the woods. Thanks for videoing them. Crazy how both of your cameras were corrupted. Glad you were able to get to Timonium. I had a great day there as well.
Thanks so much for watching! Was a great day filming these poor locos. Wish someone could buy them and move them back home.
Hey Nick shame to see these sitting rotting away. Nice job on the video, thanks .
Thanks so much! Yeah it’s truly sad , but maybe one day
Such a shame! Those are great history.
Not being from the Northeast, these are definitely iconic locomotives for sure! Very cool share! - Jason
Thanks so much for watching! Definitely iconic locos. Wish they could bring one back to service. 🚂💨

Thanks so much for watching! Yeah it was just pretty spooky all our stuff dying. Railroading has its ghost stories 👍🏻😁

That’s pretty cool! Thankfully JP is also a paranormal researcher. Nothing else happened for the rest of the day.
