I have many film cameras but when I look back at my pictures the best ones are from this little black light box of magic. I recently picked up a sealed Lca that dates 2003! Still not opened it yet. A cousin just discovered her second-generation copy of this and is going to use it to help her daughter explore a budding interest in photography. I get to teach her! This is a great video, thanks for sharing!
Great series of pictures that show off the qualities of this camera. I have a Russian version (pre-Lomography) and was fortunate to fix one issue - an internal corroded battery wire.

Seriously, though, I'm trying to find one that works on eBay; the first one I got sounded like it worked, but when I was told the roll that was in it came out blank, I realized the shutter wasn't firing. I have another coming from somewhere overseas, so it'll take awhile. Thinking about getting the first one fixed; have you ever tried to get your LC-A repaired?
I can attest that the "new" Lomo LCA+ works great too (I just wanted to get a new camera with a warranty, rather than the ebay russian versions personally). Personally I like using Fuji Superia 400 or Lomo 800 because this camera needs high speed films to stay at a higher aperture (ie f/8 rather than f/2.8) to keep its zone focusing usable. In darker light at f/2.8, everything gets fuzzy pretty quick!
M Dat I’ve been tempted to get the LC-A+ because of the capability for higher ISO and multiple exposures, but I can’t justify buying one unless my LC-A completely falls apart. Fuji Superia 400 is also my color film of choice for the LC-A. Thanks for watching!

I don't take photos with the camera for that long. My pictures are usually always blurry. I have the new plastic version. Do you have any tips? So the infinity sign doesn't mean long distance but rather the focus is shorter than 0.8? Thank you so much
The infinity sign is for long distance. I always hold my breath and securely hold the camera with two hands every time I take a shot - this seems to help me avoid blurry pictures. In low light, the shutter has to stay open longer, so that will give you blurry images unless you use a tripod (or high speed film).

Gorgeous photos.. one question, when you take low light photos like the night shots, when you press the shutter, do you hold it down and the meter will close the shutter after the appropriate time or are you guessing how many seconds to keep it open? Thank you
Dave Miller I appreciate your kind words. The meter/shutter does the work for you so you don’t have to guess. When you press the shutter release, you will hear a click when the shutter opens. You have to keep the button pressed until you hear a second click. This is the shutter closing. On fast shutter speeds, these two clicks almost sound like one longer click. With night shots and longer shutter speeds, you will definitely hear the two clicks distinctly. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Matt Clark Most of the black and white shots in this video were taken on Kodak BW400CN, which has been discontinued. For black and white, I mostly use Ilford HP5+ now. For color I usually use cheap Fuji 400 stock. I have heard good things about the retro vibe of Kodak ColorPlus 200, but I haven’t got to try it yet. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Thanks Sonny - I love both of these cameras. Which one to get depends on what you’re going for. If you want sharp photos, go with the Stylus. If you want photos with a little more character and vignetting, the LC-A is the way to go. If you want autofocus, go Stylus. The LC-A is zone focus, so you have to set the approximate focus distance before you shoot. The Stylus is more consistently reliable while the Lomo is quirky, it’ll occasionally give you shots that’ll leave you scratching your head thinking “What just happened?” The Stylus is more like a no-nonsense businessman and the LC-A is a little more surfer dude.
beetle beetle I’m not a big flash guy, but I have used a small flash with the LC-A and it worked pretty well. Some people like to use a flash with colored gels to get some funky effects with the LC-A. Thanks for watching and subscribing - I really appreciate it!

I don’t have the calipers or tools to measure it accurately, but with a ruler, I estimated a distance of roughly 32mm or so.
