Hi Legendary, which your pickups is most articulate and has more clarity? I have your Zeus and absolutely love it, but I would like to try something with less bass and more clarity. Thanks
@@TheIzzy009 Hey! If you're looking to keep in the medium/high output range, the Gatekeeper would be a good alternative. The Siren in this video is also a good blend of clarity and balanced low end.
Ha. I just thought about swapping out a pair of the same retroactives for passiv ones, because I was missing the passive attack. Guess it's not worth it. Great sounds as always 🤘🏻
the EMG have more pronounced mids, or the sirens have more top end delicacy. I just got the non bari in green quilt and the pickups seem totally fine to me :) i have a schecter c-1 i'm going to eventually put coil splits in.
If you plan on using the 7string for standard tuning or drop A, then i say yea it's worth it. It's a 25.5 inch scale, so super low turnings will give you floppy strings. I heard the neck is super chunky too
Bro, your channel used to called “Soulhenge”. Took me a while to figure out this is you. 🤣. Big possibility was because of the hair. Looks good on you by the way. Cool video. Love it you bring back the “modding guitar content! “ checking out more and more of your content to learn how to do it myself. Very educational
Theres some great clarity with both sets. What gauge strings were you using? I have a 27" scale Chapman and while there isnt any fret buzz and the tension is good in Drop F#, the 72-13s get muddy easily.
Great to read you guys' comments again too! I switched to the M1 iMac in 2021 and I'm still really happy with the performance. So far I never had issues with Logic, nor problems with standalone plugins running at lowest latency setting.
Absolutely, nothing bad to say about the EMG's really, it was just the coil-split thing that made me change to the Legendarys in the first place, but oh boy am I happy I did that!
Wonderful, what tones you get out of your guitars everytime! :) Are you using a a stronger gate to cancel the noise from the single coils? Its sounds so clean when you do this! And did you yet test fishman pickups (the ones with coil split option) yet and what is your opinion if so?
Thanks! Courtesy of the Neural DSP plugins as well. The gate on the Petrucci Archetype is pretty aggressive generally, I don't find the split position more difficult to gate, but it's rather more sensible to faulty playing while riffing. I did have a Solar Baritone with Fishmans in it to try out for a week (second time trying them, the others were in a Markline I reviewed). These were with the 2 voicings, I still don't like their feel at all. They give me a plastic-like impression and feel braindead to me. Not a fan at all, I'll stay with traditional passive pickups!
@@MilianMalivukMusic I recently bought a Cort KX508 Multi Scale II (sadly it had some nasty issues), to test a affordable 8-String / Multi Scale Guitar and also the fishmans, it has the pickups with the 3 voicings in it (I definitely wanted the to have the single coil option). But it shure is noisy in the single coil mode! I dont really like to use the gate, the harder the gate sensitivity, the more it cuts off the tone. But you are definitely right, the plastic optics of the pickups dont do them any good. The new version of the pickup that came out, has all the 3 voicings and also several options with better looking metal covers, maybe you should test them, especially because you also love the split tones. And for me, the sound sound of the fishmans is really cool.
I had a broken rib, bruised ribcage and micro-ripped tendon in the shoulder😬 I guess there would be car, photography, sim racing, woodworking channels before that😂
Retroactives still have the EMG "honk" in the upper-mids. Clarity with the Sirens is great. Aggressive but clear af. That guitar looks sweet too!
These sound positively lovely and disgusting at the same time!
Hats off to EMG as well. Those Retro Actives are some fantastic sounding pickups!

sounds like the siren lets more low mid through in full humbucker which i quite liked
I hear a lot more clarity with the siren set! Sounds awesome!
the king returns 👑🙏🏼 sounds huge 8:32
Thank God you chose covered ones.
They look awesome!
I couldn't tell which is which in a blind test.
Full bridge on rhythm tone is stunningly similar. However once you split that Siren bridge humbucker, you can tell immediately by that insane bite! :D
man i really want one of these baritone Bentons
Great to see you back man! Would love to see that purple kramer on your channel again with some upgrades 🤘
Oh, that has been sold, with a lot of other cheap stuff I had...!
In my opinion The EMGs are a lot deeper, clearer and sounds mutch better sometimes!
The emg sound great.

love the sirens
Sick guitar
I think you got the best sound outta the stock EMG's on TH-cam! I want to get the Amarok 7, I'm really starting to believe it's worth it.

@@ChakraOver9k I ended up getting a Jackson Soloist Slatx7qms. I love it too!
@@fromthe4gotten Is that the wavy blue one with the multi scale? If so, thats one beast guitar you got there mate 👌

@@fromthe4gotten impressive🔥 How do you like the jackson stock pick ups so far? Do you plan on swapping them?
sounds sick asf
the old ways say- more hair for more toooaaann

bruh that is one nasty sounding pickups!!
Makes me
Wanna get amarok rn

I prefer the emgs but the sirens look sick.
great to see an upload ! always love your videos man. do you typically have your pickups quite low? or do you set them up closer to the strings
I tend to put them close, however it's a question of keeping a balance still. Too far = too weak, too close = not enough clarity!
2:46 almost took your other fingers tip off , hehe dont hold to the vice HOMEY !
Nah wasn't that close ;))
Milian have u heard: Deadvectors - The Gray (2023)?
You’re slowly morphing into max ostro
I wish my playing would just morph into his as well.
I’m thinking about buying a baritone amarok. I was curious what string gauge you were using to get down to drop F? Thanks in advance.
I personally prefer the sound of the EMGs...but to each his own.
Great to see you back!
Is it a 16gb imac and is it sufficient for music production?
What string gauge do you use for dropped f?
Great to read you guys' comments again too! I switched to the M1 iMac in 2021 and I'm still really happy with the performance. So far I never had issues with Logic, nor problems with standalone plugins running at lowest latency setting.
Oh and I used an 8-string set on this, with a 080 gauge on the low F. Same tension and tuning than my RGA8 (which is also a 27")
The new one can djent more for sure 😂 but to be honest the standard emg weren't too bad .

sounds really sick with these new pickups! .. what is your tuning and strings gauges ?
8-string set with a 080 gauge on the low F (Drop F tuning)
@@MilianMalivukMusic Did you have to file the nut at all for them bad boys?
Actually I like the sound of the emc picks the most. They have a more rich and balanced sound.... my opinion
Hi Milian, which amp and most importantly which ir/irˋs did you use for the rythm sounds?
Rhythm tones are coming from the Neural DSP Archetype Petrucci!
Clemens (Milky Chance) ordered from wish
Next time, use a flat file on the pickup cavities.
MTB accident? Sorry to hear and hope you’ve healed up. Any chance of a MTB channel? Lol
