I’ve been looking at Cuyana bags for months but thought the classic structured tote and classic leather tote were too big for my daily use and my frame (I’m an inch shorter than you, and I like dumplings, too). I was glad Cuyana released the small structured tote but could not bring myself to buy until I read a proper review. And then I found your blog and channel (thanks, Google)! I got my small structured tote today and I am so very happy I finally bought it. I didn’t get the strap and insert because I don’t see myself using those. Thanks again!
New subbie here. Yay for petite girls!! I am 4’ 11” and so is my daughter. She likes the look of the Neverful, but that price for what would be a book bag for collage seems much. This looks like a great option and I love that it has a zipper. She can house her books, computer & smaller pieces of LV inside & worry less about someone easily grabbing items. I’m looking forward to binging on your videos & sharing them with her!
Aw love hearing this!!! I think Cuyana would make a great brand for college to be honest. Cuyana is understated luxury and really built for function - so many great options for carting books and computers around!
I just bought this tote today in cappucino color. Love it. However, I'm not so sure if I want to keep the organizer. The sleeve does not even fit my 13 inch laptop. So I tried putting my laptop in the middle, but that drink holder scrunchie thing and this other pocket gets in the way. So....I don't know if I really need that organizer as I don't carry that much stuff on days without my laptop. Plus, it is $85. However, I used the insert for my Longchamp bag and it works well. I think the bag by itself is good enough for me to carry my essentials and laptop. Thanks for the review!
Thank you for making this review! I am looking to purchase the Samara Mini Tote Bag and found the Cuyana mini tote bag and was unsure of which to purchase. I found your video and you have helped me in deciding. I find that the Cuyana bag is more expensive and somehow is not necessary for me as I don’t really carry my laptop on a day-to-day basis. I am looking for something that will work for both work and school since i’m intending to further my studies in the future. First off, I'm so happy to have found a channel that promotes and reviews bags from Cuyana. Because of several reviews (including yours), I purchased the mini tassel bag. I was looking for a mini bag and had looked at smaller bags from several brands and stores; however, the mini tassel bag ultimately won out. While I typically buy bags from well known brands, I was curious about Cuyana and wanted to give the brand a try. That said, I've heard several TH-camrs compare the mini tassel bag to the Gucci Soho bag. I've been using it since I got it. My main concern however, is the long-term durability of the bag's fabric lining. Other than that, I do like it. (I'd much rather pay $150 for a mini bag, than the hundreds or thousands you might pay for a high-end designer one.) I'd also been curious about the tote you reviewed in this video, so thank you for your honesty. I too found having to purchase the extras a bit off-putting. While it's still on my radar (the beautiful red one), your review gives me reason to pause. Lastly, as a video idea, would be curious how you pack/what you carry in your mini tassel bag. I believe you mentioned in one of your videos that it's a favorite bag. Please consider doing a what's in my mini tassel bag sometime soon. :) Keep up the great work and reviews!
I’m visiting their store tomorrow but anxious for a second opinion so thank you for this review! I got the tall tote for Christmas but it’s HUGE on me and since it’s in pebbled leather, it feels like a whole lot of bag lol. I was considering exchanging it for the small structured tote and after this video, I’m even more convinced I should get it, especially in the Perla color. But UGH it annoys me that the crossbody strap is like 1/3 the price of the entire bag!
I was very close to buying a Mansur Gavriel tote until I remembered I was also considering Cuyana’s tote. This is far more functional in my opinion than MG and way affordable. My dilemma comes to the finish of the bag - would you recommend the pebble or the textured leather? I plan to use this an everyday all around tote for work and for casual days.
Kelsey Boyanzhu I like having something textured but also soft. I’m also the type who will get really upset when my stuff gets scratched/dinged, so I love that the pebble is durable. Thank you for your input!
I was between the two but ultimately went with Cuyana since Mansur’s leather seemed to scratch easily. I’m looking forward to the durability of the pebbled leather.
Whenever I’m interested in a Cuyana bag I go back and watch your videos lol..I’m thinking I want this bag now it could easily be an everyday tote when you don’t need a larger bag I’m so bummed on the site that the strap is not available in the stone color because that’s the bag I want lol
Lol funny timing! Haven't picked this bag up in a while and literally got back home today from a day of wearing it for the first time in months. It definitely makes a good bag for when you don't need to take EVERYTHING with you - good size. I still transparently have mixed feelings about the crossbody strap. It just really does not make the bag hang well..

I LOVE Cuyana and have two large totes for work, a backpack for travel or work, wallet, keychain, card holder, small carryall for weekends and the insert. I never had an insert but I love love it. I once got a crossbody strap from coach for a tote and ended up returning it because I just didn't like the tote as a crossbody. I think the attached straps will overtime fold over and you can put them which ever way you would want to put them, its like that with the caryall, the straps kind of stand at first but them they fold over and I like the look. Could you do a video on their travel bags, the new leather ones. Thank you for all your reviews of Cuyana bags, I have found them helpful, especially when I was deciding what to get.

I might have missed this but what did you think of that textured leather versus the pebbled? I have a few of the larger totes all in the pebbled leather and was curious if this textured leather got a little more....denty? Like the epi leather on an LV. Thoughts?
Joelle great Q! Personally it’s not my fave. I think durability wise it holds up fine, but i just prefer the look and feel to the pebbled leather. Plus i hate that you can’t monogram this.

I'm hoping it's normal and that the dents will go away once the leather breaks in. Any thoughts? I'm also thinking I should maybe just return for a pebbled leather version...

So like 1 of 2 things - their customer service is GREAT so honestly you could always take pics, reach out, and ask if that's normal. they may even be able to send you one without dents. but also 2) i just think the pebbled is never a wrong choice lol
Kelsey O'Brien so update on the insert. I agree with you the bottle holder is slightly useless. It’s too tight to hold my hydroflask, cuz im worried the leather would rip from being too tight. But i still like it for the other organizational uses. After using it for a week, decided not to get the strap either 😂😂

Okay so I I’m looking for an everyday tote to transition out of a diaper bag lol but still have to carry somethings with me (for my 2 year old) and came across this bag so it’s between Cuyana and the LV MM but after watching this lol should I just bite it and get the bigger one? But I don’t know if it’s too big for everyday use and not like “work use”

Annie the width of the bag is 15” so while theoretically yes a 13” laptop would fit, it’s a tight fit. No, there wouldn’t be room for much else. If you’re looking for a bag to tote a laptop around I’d recommend the full size structured tote. Or the zip tote.
The MM size measures 12.6″ W x 11.4″ H x 6.7″ D vs the Cuyana Small Structured Tote at 15" W x 10" H x 5.25" D. The Cuyana Small Structured Tote is essentially shorter, but longer. Handle drop for the Cuyana is 8.25" vs Neverfull at approx 8" so basically the same.
Vanna Elaine It’s one of my least used handbags primarily because of that long strap. It’s sort of a weird middle ground bag for me. If I want a shoulder bag - I personally reach for my classic structured tote more. If I want a more medium/small size bag, I don’t want it on my shoulder I want it as a crossbody and the long strap on this guy is just so frustratingly awkward. The bag gapes open because of where the straps sit. It makes me feel like the bag isn’t secure. I always end up reaching elsewhere. It’s a cute bag but I think it’s really best for someone who specifically wants a shoulder bag - not crossbody - and wants a shoulder/tote bag that isn’t big but is more small/medium.
The original insert does NOT fit in the MM size unfortunately. I think the smaller one would, but I kind of question if that smaller insert is really even "worth" it...

Chrissy99 pebbled is my personal favorite just because it’s still durable and doesn’t show scratches easily but has some softness to it.

If you like that more chic leather type style - I'd go for the Everlane Day Market Tote! MUCH lighter.
