    I think partner teams (or something similar) are important because obviously you dont want the already established top teams to have to play 80 qualifiers to play in an event they should be at in the first place. The problem with partner teams arises when they are getting paid 10x more to finish in last place. Obviously fnatic right now doesn't deserve to have their partnership stripped from them but they definitely did back in 2021 when their results were awful and nothing happened. EG hasn't had a T1 team in more than a year but they're still on multiple partnerships. Makes 0 sense. There are T2 teams out there who would beat up these awful partnered teams in game if they had the same support behind them. Honestly partner teams should only be teams that are consistently top 8 or so, and everyone else should have to earn a spot.
    The best system would probably be to keep all of the current partner teams but give the clearly bad ones invites to the closed qualifier (or whatever it is for the event, like conference for EPL) instead of the main event.
    ESL's system would work well with the above but BLAST system is a bit different. BLAST needs to make their finals way more inclusive. Having only 2 spots for up-and-coming teams is so disappointing. I like the idea of having the partner teams in a brawl first to see who is really on top and who needs to work on their game. There are 2 huge problems with BLAST though.
    ONLY TWO TEAMS out of SIXTEEN possible teams from the showdown (the only "qualifier" pretty much) go to the finals of a BLAST event. That means that MAXIMUM TWO non-partnered teams will get to the finals per event. That is extremely stupid.
    Performing well in a BLAST event doesn't even guarantee that you'll be in the next event. For example if you get #1 in spring final you get to go to the world final but you don't even get an invite to fall final or any event in years to come. (unless you get lucky with BLAST points, which is still impossible because they give out BLAST points for ESL events). If you get #2 in spring final you are not seeded for a single other tournament that BLAST has. You get some cash, a some BLAST points, but it still doesn't matter because teams like G2 already have invites to nearly every ESL event, gaining them many more BLAST points and having many more opportunities to gain them as well.
    I understand that having partner teams allows for players to get recruited by them (the partnered teams) and automatically have some sort of a pathway to success but it's so much harder for any new organizations to get into the scene. And some of the partnered teams don't even try (like MIBR) (I guess you could argue that astralis isn't trying but with all the roster changes I think they really are trying to get back into the scene. It is taking too long though.)

    ESL and Blast invites best argument is "We get more money from them so we get to pay our players more" sounds nice until you realize that they pay 5 people more and everyone else who is not in those invite teams gets paid god know how many times less than that.
    So yeah, it intrudes on the competitive spirit where there's less incentive to be better, it intrudes the ranking where it's simply not fair (Astralis rn should be top 80) and all that so some board investor is more sure of his investment?
    I get that kids and gaming sounds less serious than many other investment opportunities but I feel like we are not that far off from this being a global thing.
    Many "tier 2" teams are worthy of being around top 10 at least for a while if they didn't have to go trough every qualifier and get exhausted from 8 matches a day while invited team has casual prac sessions, chill life and quality working hours. I struggle to support that being a thing even tho I like CS a lot.
    Cause tier 1 teams are boosted, they can mess around, they can hire 12 analysts to do the prep work, they can half arse half of the events even with that and still be top 10 while team without invites has to do that on their own, prepare for teams, analyze, antistrat, work full time jobs to pay that off and live a very very unhealthy life while still being under teams that objectively do not deserve being in top 10.
    Astralis is example rn, absolutely dreadful for almost a year except of one Lucky run, still top 10............ No T sides, no utility, no synergy, they've got nothing and no incentive to do it. How can one be that bad and be top 10? I dislike the system that ranks it that way.

      Actually the partner system makes sense if you impose certain conditions like at least be consistent top 15 or have x amount of views. Like I would enjoy a big tournament with some dignitas or imperial but because of the views those teams brings instead of a fnatic which is pretty much at the same level at this point

    • @gandalfgass
      @gandalfgass 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@santosacosta4553 It makes sense IF ranking makes sense.
      But can you say it with a straight face that Astralis deserves top 10 now?
      So currently it makes no sense, invites make sense if it's 50% invited teams while other half of spots are qualified.
      It makes no sense to rate world rankings as there are handful of teams that barely stick around top 10 cause of invites and nothing else.

    • @santosacosta4553
      @santosacosta4553 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gandalfgass agreed with the astralis thing. Only reason that makes sense for them to be top 10 is cause the owner is part owner of hltv (read that on dexerto I think) . Another good idea would be if partner teams that are not good enough to play they get a direct invitation to the past qualifier before the tournament, where mostly it'll be tier2 or 3 teams that have played 3 or 4 tournaments to get there. If they are not good enough to to qualify from that invite then they wouldn't be good enough to play at events like pro League.

    • @gandalfgass
      @gandalfgass 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@santosacosta4553 Makes sense why blameF was top 20 last year even tho he has done absolutely fuck all apart from baitF for his own stats. One fluke run is all there is, mostly on k0nfig's back cause his entry was insane.
      As for invites, I cannot see it being good if invite is based on the contract between parties and you can gain points for being invited. That's not legit ranking.
      I think invites should be for a certain point of qualifiers, like weed out tier 3 teams by tier 2 ones, then let tier 2 attempt their faith against tier 1. Still that would be bad cause I feel that there should be way more guaranteed spot in tournaments for qualifying teams, meaning they do get prize money even if they bail out early.
      And more ranking points, this way it's just not fair.

    Back in 2019 with Nexa, KennyS, Jackz, Amanek and Hunter G2 already had a problem with a lack of consistency in their game. G2 was always the kind of team to absolutely dominate an opponent in fullbuy vs fullbuy rounds to then throw must win rounds vs a few deagles or rounds with a huge lead in general for no reason at all. Too many unforced errors and as a result of that(I'm guessing here) a lot of tilt and mindset issues. The 2 members left from that lineup are Jackz and Hunter. I'll give you a few specific examples of typical G2 rounds.
    In round 9 D2 vs Entropiq, Enropiq forcebuys(CT) and has 1x AWP, 2x Deagle, 1x P250, 1x FiveSeven while G2 has a fullbuy. Entropiq wins that round with 5 CT's alive, all T's are dead and 2 CT's upgraded from Pistols to AK47. m0nesy get's picked suicide by the AWP, Hunter dies upper tunnel also vs the AWP while expecting aggression but standing in the open with a bad angle, Niko runs out mid alone and get's one shot by a Deagle close door in an angle he did not check correcly. If G2 wins that round, Entropiq is broke and therefore the following round most likely gonna go G2's way too. But let's ignore that. There were 2 more rounds G2 threw in the first half d2 alone and they still managed to go up to a 14:7 lead.
    In round 22 in the 2nd half(14:7 lead G2) Entropiq commits towards a-long and is half way through long towards a-site and G2(fullbuy vs fullbuy round) has 5 CT's alive, 4 molotovs, 2 smokes, flashbangs and all 3 entropiq T's left are exposed. Forester, lack1 and Nickelback have 0 equipment left. No nades, nothing and G2 manages to lose that round with Jackz(b-site saving) and Niko, m0nesy, hunter and Aleksib dying while ALL 3 T's survive. You can't explain those kind of blackouts with the IGL, bad communication, being unlucky or even the opponent playing it extremely well. It's a mixture of single players doing their own thing and being not compatible to teammates like m0nesy while having a smoke, molotov and a flashbang repeeking long for no reason while hunter teamflashes him from ct with no reason at all and Niko and Aleksib playing it passiv(imo the right way) on site. I believe G2 can't handle those kind of unforced errors and tilt themselfes and then have a hard time to mentally reset and play good CS again. They are doing it to themselves.
    Just to repeat it once more. When G2 was up 14:7 on Dust2, up to that point they already threw 4 rounds for no reason. They're supposed to crush their opponents and the reason they lose is not necessarily the pressure created by the opponent, it's coming from inside the team because I can't spot anything on the opponents side(no offence Entropiq) that forces G2 to make those kind of horrible mistakes. Just look at the demos, I mean.. come on. How? And while you're at it look back at 2019 when they lost vs Astralis on Inferno OT. It was like that even back then with a lot of unforced errors for no reason.
    I could be 100% wrong but I guess that it's either Jackz or Hunter. It could be that one or both of then when on tilt stop to communicate properly and drag the team down because that kind of weirdly absurd thrown rounds were there from the start and the 2 players left from that 2019 lineup are hunter and jackz. KennyS, Nexa and Amanek are gone but the main issues are still there.

      I think it's a mental block from a combination of players, not just one specifically. For example if they left I don't think the new team would have the problem. I think Rain causes that mental problem on faze even though people say he's a great teammate. Sometimes even a good teammate can just cause some mental chokes and get the team in an uninspired state.

      Very quickly read over the essay (less is more sometimes) and whilst I agree hunter appears to be quite quiet at times in the facecams and micd up segments at blast you're trying to make an impossible point. Newsflash this is all in hindsight and cannot be taken seriously. again you're speaking from such an extreme position of hindsight think about that 4v3 long round from in the game as G2. Typical long take on dust 2 I can only imagine it was done within the first 20s of the round meaning if the remaining 3 players have 0 smokes again I assume it was a lower buy (lacking full nades). As G2 you have 0 idea if those players have nades left or what naded they have, playing safe like you said sounds like an abysmal idea. Here we fucking go more hindsight and hypothetical situations! In this scenario entropiq continue the long take after some time, guessing G2 having lost long by the sound of things they take short put 1 spotting mid doors with the 4th still on B. Double long smokes with the bricks molo and almost instantly G2 need to either push out Cat or fall back into the 4v3 retake. If you actually think about it for 10s you'd realise playing passive is moronic and without some individual plays actually loses the round.

    I actually liked cArn the player back in the 1.6 days, but damn is he absolutely terrible to watch. This is what bureacracy does to you, in an attempt to be politically correct, you never really say anything of substance, or even if you do, the message is so watered down that 95% of the people won't get it.

    i wanna criticise striker here. He said that phsy isnt ready for T1 cs? The dude hasnt even seen him play? he made alot of clutches and crucial frags that was very important. He had great positioning and utility useage. He is talking bullshit, please before you talk you need to know what you are talking about.

      Well Phzy has had pretty shit stats on average this year, statistically easily the 2nd worst player in the team only above es3tag who is the support. In all metrics Phzy's stats have been bad especially considering that he is the awper on the team and awper should be consistently one of the best players on the team. Sure he can be explosive which gets him some highlight plays, but on average he doesn't really have any/enough impact for a tier 1 awper. I still think he does have potential to be a good tier 1 awper in the future, but don't think he is ready yet.
