I'll echo the other commenters and say yes please, more videos! I grew up watching your generation of WRC and so to hear your perspectives and stories is really special, you can't put a price on that as far as I'm concerned so to get it for free here on TH-cam is something I'd never take for granted. Keep em coming!
We need more of this Nicky, getting out and about visiting Teams etc, you could link up with your other drivers and would also like to see you visit some of the current drivers, really enjoyed it, and just to add, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody so relaxed in the co drivers seat, you’d have thought Gregoire was out for a Sunday drive 😀
I'm loving the videos and hearing the tales from back in the day, from the generation of WRC I watched. There's a video of you and Wilson doing the '90 monte in the sapphire (almost stage by stage), I'd love to hear more about that event, more driver talks like the ones you had with KKK and Howard
Great content Nicky - we love hearing about your adventures on the WRC it’s really great to keep the memory of Colin alive - you’ve had so much experience with top line teams so comparing today to then is always an interesting angle. Behind the scenes - planning logistics recce there’s so much you could share!
Malcolm is one of my motorsport heroes. Since a cold, wet November in 1986, I've been a fan and even used him as part of an application for a media course at the BBC.
Either way you go I'll b along for the ride/watching it your a legend mate an u manage to keep us entertained even better !! Much respect to this man!!
Still the proud owner of focus Mk1, 1998 year model, and still nothing replaced on the drive train, toughest car ever, and still puts smile on my face driving it on open roads
The concept of this vid is spot on, bit of onsite chat with the team principle then a blast in the car, haven't been to M-Sport in bout 10 years so need another visit in my MK1 Focus RS to see all the new developments there, still remember where i was when i was told the news of Colin, and the display of his career at the NEC in 2008 was so emotional, he lived and died on the edge #legendofaman
I'm loving your content mister Grist! Every video feels like a Christmas present, with anecdotes from the past and your interesting guests. It's something I feel I can't hear enough from. It's like having a door opened into the wonderous world of rallying, both past and present. A world which has stolen my heart ever since visiting a local rally event in the 90s when I was but a tiny lad. The smell, sound, glowing brake disks, dazzling speeds and sliding corners: there is nothing better. Looking forward to your next story, thanks so much!
Always love your videos Nicky. You have sat in with some of the best drivers on the planet, but you are a legend in your own right. Keep them coming please 🙏
Thank you Nicky, this is great content. As a fan who has drifted in and out of rally the last few decades it's great to hear about the current cars compared to the cars I am most familier with from your heyday!
Please keep making content like this as a life long rally fan getting insight from a world rally stalwart is just priceless love this keep up the great work thank you
Nicky i love this kind of vids. I wish to have for example more technical vids with details you might only know. For example i loved the vid you explained tyre selection at monte. Here i wished you could've explained us more about the 99 car for example. I remember back then you used safari special cars so for example you could tell us more about all the changes that car had compared to the base 99 rally car.. Also i'll like to know how it was racing on OPEN ROADS!. INSANE
Thanks Nicky for amazing videos. In my opinion you should continue with the videos in which you talk about the old days with all the legends yourself included.
Great stuff! I like to hear your perspectives on rallying and esp your experiences from the past. Like changing from Subaru to Ford. Did you ever get the same vibe in the car? It seemed from the outside that you performed the best at Subaru. And about the Citroen adventure that didnt go to plan. I had a feeling that you could have been a good help for Colin that seemed kind of lost there.
100% listening to you Nicky talking about days with Colin and your career in general is so fascinating and knowing you know rallying like you do brings such value to the videos you're creating, Keep doing what you're doing!
I just found your channel a week ago and I find it great. Technical insights, great interviews now that you ask, but the best one by far is your conversation with Juha Kankkunen, had to see it twice right away, enjoyed every second. Thank you!
Hi Nicki, that was one of your best videos as yet, the comparsion on both is amazing, i think i could see you sitting in there thinking if Colin had this car, what would he do 🤔
What a nice experience it must have been for you,Nicky! Nice to see you reunited with yours and Colin's baby and of course,Malcolm. Love the new helmet livery!
Nicky you are a legend who better to review this stuff than a man who’s done it all. I think the looking back at the old stuff and comparing it to the new almost like go karts sticking like scalextric is great. But I will say it was more flamboyant with you and Colin. Keep up the good work. “ If in doubt flat out “
What a brilliant video Nicky, I have spectated through all the eras from late 80’s uhtil now and these current Rally 1 cars are just something else. Stunning pieces of machinery. Loving these pieces, please keep it up, as you have fantastic experiences and insight to share.
Nicky, you have tremendous respect and passion for Rallying that you would have access to some awesome machinery and talented people within the sport. And you can portray that very well. Just tell the stories of our sport. I personally struggle to keep up with what’s happening in the UK these days (I live in Western Australia) and have an AbsoluteRally shaped hole in my life. I’d love to see more content on the BRC and Irish Rallying.
These videos are great. Hearing about your experiences from your rally career are valuable, especially when you discuss differences between then and now.
This is by far my go to channel Ricky is such a nice guy and explains everything perfect such a great insight I love his little stories about back in the day thank you nicky for all the hard/good work you do you can't make these videos quick enough 🙏
Wow. Fantastic. We will have some more like that please Nicky. I think their is a lack of channels on TH-cam where you actually get such great content on rallying. I would love to see videos on workshops and tours round factory's like this one (in English). Keep it up Nicky. I enjoy watching you interview people too. You've got the nak of getting interesting content!
Really enjoyed that video! Could see the twinkle in your eye when you were back in the passenger seat. Would love to see more, also your production quality is really good.
Wicked video Nick 😊..you're face ws a picture sat along side Gregoire. You'd think you were a beginner 😂. It shows if you were amazed then the advancement made. I think you would have got in and out a bif faster back in the day too. 👌
Thank you Mr Grist for sharing these moments, I really like this more than the live coverage these days.... The smile on your face inside the Puma says it all....
Hi Nicky, another great video report👍 It was nice to see you impressed by the new Ford Puma-I think it’s the best looking WRC car, it just looks fast standing still😳It would have been fantastic to see you and Colin in this car, you were a brilliant team and I am sure you would have been up there with Loeb, Ogier etc. 😉
I always liked the Focus. The times when you and Colin were sending it I was working for a Ford dealership and we had photos and posters of this car hanging everywhere, and there were several customers that chose a ST170 because of the rally heritage, while their wives would've been satisfied with an ordinary 1.6 😄 What I'd like to see? A series with you and Malcolm competing in a Grp.4 Escort on the Tour de Corse Historique! 😁
Love the videos mate, as a west aussie i grew up with rally australia, colin on the famous jumps and water splash, carlos sainz rolling his car GT4 etc....❤❤❤
Brilliant Nicky! You looked a tad concerned inside that car? Understanibly so, considering todays pace of WRC1. Don't you think they have gone too far in WRC1? There would be more manufacturer involvement if it was a bit simpler and less costly - WR2+ type car maybe? Anyhow, very nostalgic also, comparing your win with Colin on the Safari all those years ago. Keep them coming!
I really loved this video, it was quite interesting to hear the perspective of somebody from the old days on the new rally cars of today. One interesting comparison would be between the 2017 wrc cars and the new rally 1 cars.
Hi Nicky , I run the old John Bloxham Fiat 131 at Goodwood most years. Be nice for you to come up and chat. Rally prep Cornwall look after the car. Love you to come and sign it.
Love the content! Really interested to see you do a video where you walk through different pace note structures and the pros and cons of each one (for example, mcrae vs burns style pacenotes)
Great channel. Would love to see some back to back comparison of legendary Gp B to modern WRC - are modern cars now as fast as the golden Group B era ?
I'll echo the other commenters and say yes please, more videos! I grew up watching your generation of WRC and so to hear your perspectives and stories is really special, you can't put a price on that as far as I'm concerned so to get it for free here on TH-cam is something I'd never take for granted. Keep em coming!
So many memories of this car, especially from the 2.0 rally game
We need more of this Nicky, getting out and about visiting Teams etc, you could link up with your other drivers and would also like to see you visit some of the current drivers, really enjoyed it, and just to add, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody so relaxed in the co drivers seat, you’d have thought Gregoire was out for a Sunday drive 😀
Malcolm and Grist. Big up.
Would love to see more content like this Nicky, Brilliant stuff! I could think of endless collaborations & video ideas that id love to see!😊
Keep the videos coming Nicky boy
I'm loving the videos and hearing the tales from back in the day, from the generation of WRC I watched. There's a video of you and Wilson doing the '90 monte in the sapphire (almost stage by stage), I'd love to hear more about that event, more driver talks like the ones you had with KKK and Howard
Really loved this one Nicky so interesting to see your feedback on a modern car…
Great content Nicky - we love hearing about your adventures on the WRC it’s really great to keep the memory of Colin alive - you’ve had so much experience with top line teams so comparing today to then is always an interesting angle. Will never forget the day I was on a tour and walked through the doors from the workshop and seen that car such an amazing moment
Thanks Nicky, I like this style and approach from the past vs current era.
Thank you Nicky, this is great content. As a fan who has drifted in and out of rally the last few decades it's great to hear about the current cars compared to the cars I am most familier with from your heyday!

That was cool! Imagine Colin in that thing!
It's fabulous to have you relive all that experience from decades ago in the glory years of rallying. Keep up the mix of past and present.
Thanks Nicky for this video. New era came along with new technology generating more speed and high effective levels in all weather conditions.
Thanks Nicky for amazing videos. In my opinion you should continue with the videos in which you talk about the old days with all the legends yourself included.
