I like that how you are going into depth in visual demonstration other than words being spoken in the beginning of the video ...That's key to show measurement according to what is being used in particular application ...it gives a individual a sense of what your working with is capable of getting a job done or weather you may need to tweak a method or two

Ya it showed us the ratchet and socket is used on bolts and not used for cutting…

If somebody is complaining about getting a wire stuck under the switch they are really nitpicking. They are really just looking for something to complain about. The ratchets and sockets are fine.

I have a Centech from Harbour freight I don’t do a lot of electrical stuff works fine. Also I hope icon comes out with 1/4 inch drive 12 point sockets. Aircraft mechanics live on 12 points.

Power tools+ swivel sockets= rarely having to reach for a ratchet.

  • @Fedwrench
    @Fedwrench 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

i really like the ICON 1/4 sockets and ratchet i have so far. the ratchet is just a hair under 5 inches long and most of that length is handle. It's quite comfortable. I wish ICON would have used a recessed or lower profile direction switch though. Harbor Freight needs to release an ICON catalog so, we know what the line will include.
As for meters, i was raised on Fluke as being the only option but, lately i really like the Powerprobe automotive meter. It's accurate, durable, and won't break the bank.

Love the music JD. For a min there I thought I saw the Fonz. Electricians' meter of choice is Fluke. One company that I use and started in school that no one mentioned is Amprobe they have been around for years. If you a DIY then Ames is fine I own both the CMA600A clamp meter and the DM1000 Electricians HVAC Contractor TRMS Multimeter both work well no issues.

Went to Harbor Freight to check out the Icon. Needed a 1/4 flex head ratchet comfort grip. It felt good. Good flex on the head. Good lever switch. Smooth High teeth count. Handle felt good. The price was right. I just couldn’t see myself paying tree times more for a Snap on. I do love my Snap on ratchets but, can’t justify. I think it will do great. Keep those videos coming. Thanks.

I bought a set of sae and metric stubby wrenches when I started using them I noticed the tolerances were extremely loose. I build cats for a living and use mostly all stainless, the loose tolerances on the stubbys were marring up the fasteners so I measured them in comparison to the snap on stubby they are 6-8 thousands looser on the boxes end and 10 thousands looser on the open end. I did a video and will upload tonight. I am extremely disappointed and will have to return for what I am doing they flat out will not be able to be used and I’m gonna have to return them. I am still holding out hope for some of the other products but not the wrenches I assume the regular length are just as bad 6-8 thousands makes a huge difference let alone 10 on an open end

As always great video brotha I think you managed to put everyone at ease as to the quality and real world use of the Icon ratchets and sockets as for not having a long enough Icon ratchet and using the longer Snapon I would have liked to see you use a cheater bar on the Icon 3/8 flex head ratchet just to see if it could get the job done I purchased 1/4 short and deep metric socket sets as well as the 3/8 metric short and deep along with a 14" 3/8 flex head comfort grip ratchet and a 7" flex head comfort grip ratchet and both ratcheting wrench sets in metric based on your review in conjunction with Redemption Garage and Client Graphics as well and so far I have been really impressed with the quality and effectiveness of the Icon tool line the regular ratcheting wrench set is longer than the Matco set I have which isn't reversible or offset when I looked at getting the equivalent from Matco it was $477.90 as opposed to Icon at $149.99 and I honestly believe the Icon is fully capable of getting the job done at a fraction of the cost once again thanks for putting out quality reviews about tools that are going to help us save money the way I look at it if I save money on professional quality tools I'm able to improve the quality of life for my family

mato little elk wells Your very welcome Brotherman. I don’t use cheater pipes unless I’m out of options. The it’s a breaker bar I slip a pipe over not a Ratchet. Thus the name Breakit bar. 😂🍻👍

@@JustinDowDIYcentralhighway yeah I know I made that same comment on Client Graphics video where he stress tested the 3/8 flex head ratchet from Icon that snapped the anvil at 220+ftlbs of torque I said we have breaker bars and 1/2 20v impact wrenches for jobs like that but I've noticed people saying in past videos that they use cheater bars on ratchets and complain when it damages the ratchet anyway I always think you bring the best viewpoint and do a great job with your reviews keep doing what you do brotha

mato little elk wells I agree. I think he’s doing based on Subscriber request. I’ve done a fair amount of videos based on personal requests from the community. Just makes me cringe to see a good tool destroyed intentionally.🍻

Flyers similar to the tool truck flyers with upcoming tools and deals would be a great idea just for the professional icon line. With young Technicians it gives them more options with out going sooo deep in debt. See to much talent get discouraged with the debt load of tools and trying to make a living. Keep up the great videos. I hope Icon comes out with all the different bits and large sets of different impact socket sets.

In the automotive business for over 30 years and have always used and preferred Snap-on Ratchets. In my opinion, the GEARWRENCH 1/2" Drive 84 Tooth Locking Flex Head Teardrop Ratchet 24" - 81363 is a bargain for the money.
$67 on Amazon. Good quality and lifetime warranty. I still prefer the snap-on in 1/4 an 3/8. just couldn't see spending the big bucks for a Snap-on, Mac, Or Matco when this was as good for a lot less money.

I recently watched a video of the Snap On "Rock n Roll" truck. There was a box that one of the guys (visiting) liked. The Snap On man said the box was, (I COULD BE OFF HERE GUYS) $30-35K. BUT, if the buyer signed up for Snap On credit, (I'M ASSUMING THAT MEANT FINANCING THE BOX THROUGH THEM) and getting a coupon the box would be $19K. Again, I could be off on that a bit. Am I getting this right, that in order to get any BIG DEALS you have to run them through Snap On? What if the guy had pulled out his beer money and said he wanted to pay CASH? Would the price have still been $19K or would it have jumped?

I leave it at the house and thus it doesn't get used on the day to day. Look up a video titled Harbor Freight 25 inch flex-head concept ratchet
