Hi, just a thank you for making these videos, they are a great source of information and I am sure, a bugger to make but give us all many hours of learning and entertainment!
I am just about to undertake my own rebuild so this was exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos.
Glad I could help
Work of mechanical art as per usual Mike.
yes it turned out nice again - customer wants to upgrade the pump to steel gears now - no big deal
You made putting that sealer on so easy.
General question, what part (if any) do you detest most with the LT77 gearbox servicing?
Removing them from the vehicle!
i am not a fan of circlips in gear boxes much prefer collars and collets ,never seen p6 5speed would be a great convertion, great vid Mike
Nice job mike ill be sending my lt76 to you😂
I think it is a sd1 box also used in tr7 5 speed P6 had a 4speed aluminium box and overdrive
Could be - this is only what I have been told - never seen one!
Don't forget to shim for the gasket goo, ashcrofts don't 👍
Good video, can you put EP90 in A LT77 land rover gearbox, thanks, Danny.
No. It is too thick and can cause the oil pump to break in cold weather
LT77 2wd stripdown & rebuild is documented here in the Triumph TR8 workshop manual (Page 120 onwards) tr7tr8.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/TR8-WorkshopManual.pdf
Many thanks!
I noticed it said to use the tool I did to strip 5th gear, but simply said fit the fifth gear, spacer and a new circlip when refitting - didn't say how!!
Lol!
