@@shatzinorris1417 did all modern players become historic players on arena? the power level of the format is bonkers now thanks to all the modern horizons and didgital cards.
@@goncaloferreira6429 im pretty they didn't. modern players were either playing on modo or paper, and mtga is super god damn expensive without having the advantages of modo or paper. Historic also sucks as a format imo
6:15 it would have been the better play to use the Lightning Helix on your own Nemesis to get the No-lifegaintrigger on top of dealing the same amount of damage to the opponent
@@thebobcat5814 the opponent was tapped out at that point and the Nemesis-play would have prevented potentially losing to them playing a Sheoldred and himself not drawing any burnspells. It would have been the objectively better play longterm, the fact that it wouldn't have changed the outcome doesn't matter for it to be the better play
Yea Sheoldred coming down next turn shows why your play was better. Seth just got a lucky deck right after, but Sheoldred would have started stabilizing with lifegain
Hey Seth, might I recommend Burt's Bees Honey & Pomegranate cough drops/lozenges? I had them recommended to me when I lost my voice working a convention, and they should help alleviate the creaky voice from being sick and keep you from losing it from strain!
I think it’ll always just be too slow/mana intensive to use its ability, and playing it for the triggered ability requires using your burn spells on creatures, which isn’t something the deck wants to do unless required
Also if you're playing this deck in BO3 and boarding in scorching shots etc. You should be able to hold these for threats and burn your own nemesis if you need them to go to face.
This is very close to the Boros burn I've been playing since Foundations dropped. I've just been having trouble with the sideboard. Any non-budget sideboard cards to would recommend? I'm currently doing: x2 Torch the Tower, x3 Get Lost, x2 Not on My Watch, x1 Pyroclasm, x2 Rest in Peace, x2 Scorching Shot, and x3 Urabrask's Forge. Thanks for all advice.
Video #3 of requesting *Kaito Tribal* from Seth. I _know_ its not gonna be on a *_Budget Magic_* entry(4 rare, 8 mythic MINIMUM), but I must hold to the Oath!
why not helix your own screaming nemesis in response to their removal so you can redirect the 3 and prevent lifegain, then you dont need to fear the sheoldred.
Copied decklist to play some games on lunch, first series destroyed a golgari deck super fun, also did your suggestion and took out Kellen. Think for a non budget version put in slick shot?
Personally I'm trying Ghitu Lavarunner which is basically a 1 mana 2/2 always in this deck. I find it's a cheap beater that I don't feel it cuts into my burn mana, however screaming nemesis is a real house so I could see SS being a nice add to pull away removal early.
10:36 Seth you had lethal even if you let them resolve the food lmao
I'm trying to see if there are any "extra lifegain" effects, but I don't see one. I think you're right.
I came to see if someone else said this...
He was silly maxing
yeah, 4 life plus a food = 7 life, lighting strike plus boros charm = 7 damage.
@@dragon101woof8Aren’t we all?
Burn becoming a standard deck after getting forced out of modern by mh3 about sums up 2024 magic for me.
burn not being a modern playable deck is a massive detriment to the format
It pains me to say it, but modern is dead. And modern horizons sets are the killers.
Burn wasn't good before MH3 lol

i mean, it didnt matter either way. its smarter to leave it up so you can do that as a response to them gaining life. if that makes sense

I came looking for this comment. You are objectively correct

Don't overwork yourself and get well soon, Seth!
Thanks!
Those arena matches are basically the coal mines of kentucky :(
People may call this Boros burn, but in my decklist it known as “Experiments with napalm”
Standard feels great reminds me of the good days in modern
I'm incredibly hyped for the next year of Standard. The format seems like it should be super sweet!
Hope you feel better Seth! I also got sick and sound like death, although I always start feeling better right when my voice goes out.
People out on the ladder already playing this deck... the Saffron Olive effect.

Aww, this makes me nostalgic, with boros charm and lava spikes and lightning helixes
Every time I see Boros burn in standard I wonder if Taii Wakeen will have a role.
I think it’ll always just be too slow/mana intensive to use its ability, and playing it for the triggered ability requires using your burn spells on creatures, which isn’t something the deck wants to do unless required

Is the boros creature land worth it over the desert?
Burn has so many options now, I made a mono red version of this that's 20$ and it still kicks ass lol
10:55 what a smart play
The main takeaway from this is that I'm not the only one who says "let's get shwifty" when I play my good cards. 😂
interestingly I've been playing burn control recently and it's been a blast, crimson pulse might be able to get me over the line in diamond
Can we give Seth some respect for the amount of will power he must have used to not include hidetsugu’s second rite
Hope you get well soon seth. Love your content but take care, its more important :)
Pyroclasm would be nice here, goes great with Nemesis
Yeah, that's probably worth including in the sideboard. Good call.
Turns out Screaming Nemesis is what finally broke UW Recommission! I'm in mythic!
Hell yes, been waiting for this one.
Hell yeah, actual burn deck
100$ being budget is wild

You could always use a shot on a nemesis as a 5 damage burn spell to face after swinging. Seemed under utilized
So many Standard decks to play.

There's very few times I root for opp over Seth, BW Bats is one of those times. Still, great showing
Me at the Dentist watching MTG
I think red overlord be better than lynx considering ur play alot of non basics same cost to impending and 4 damage
Is there a deck new Kaelan is good in or is he just not very good, as I predicted?
I am here ro apologize for spreading misinformation due to my inability to read cards properly
How did you win vs Lifegain?! 😯😯

Playing a similar deck almost to mythic since release. Look up Blooming Blast. You're welcome.
blooming blast is so good, throws me back to playing modern back in the day with searing blood/blaze. so awesome…
@@thebobcat5814 yeah. Also Hidetsugu's Second Rite somehow accounts for half my wins, which is kinda comical.
@@MetalHevThat's actually some interesting tech, might try it out.
25:10 block with foundry + helix to kill Amelia??
I am going to build a deck just to snipe burn decks
Why…
$100? budget??
Unfortunate truth about mtg. Can get decks for less, but even in standard $100 seems to be the baseline...
I honestly don't know how you manage to ever keep a creature on the field in this standard.
Who tf says $100 is a budget deck?
It's budget for standard. It's all relative to the format.
I feel like you have too many lands... Modern burn only ran like 18
This deck is way more mana intensive than modern burn, especially since Seth is running 4 Cases
