Given the amount of times and the severity by which David Matchell often does completely "lose it", I found this clip didn't really live up to the expectation set by the title 😞
I find Mitchell a complete self indulgent arse who sometimes deserves a good slapping particularly the time he picked on poor Sarah Pascoe after she went to Puerto Rico instead of Spain but she wa very upset having broken up with her boyfriend at the time. Mitchell showed no sympathy and ranted on about her being a moron.

You see, this is a show called “Would I Lie To You?”. A large part of it is that a good player will tell untrue stories in a very believable manner, or (and this is the part relevant to your observation) to tell true stories in a very unbelievable manner.
Or.. sometimes they do the double bluff! When they tell the story in a manner that suggests they don’t want to be believed , thinking the opposite team will then think it’s true, when in fact it is a lie. I think that’s what I mean lol
