@@flutelisa My wife has been joking for about 5 years now that she was going to buy me a new flute. Since I was 7, I've been playing the Gemeinhardt flute my parents bought for me in second grade. So she's been taking mental notes over the years and finally did it.....she bought me an absolutely gorgeous Haynes flute from Weissmans in NYC for Christmas. This church performance will be the public debut of my new axe 😁 I love your sound you get from your flute. I'm mainly a jazz saxophone and flute player, so these arrangements get me out of my comfort zone. So again, I appreciate you taking the time to post these on TH-cam!
@Timothy Vattima What a WONDERFUL and much deserved Christmas gift! It's about time you got a flute like that, and how special that it will have its premiere performance this Sunday! As for jazz, have you listened to the arrangement of This Little Light of Mine that I recorded? Jazzy, but "written out," which is my kind of jazz :-), since I don't improvise! I'm actually playing Little Light in church on 2/13 (and also Joel Raney's The Gift of Love), and I play Little Light with more edge now than I did on the recording. So much fun! Anyway, good for you to get out of your comfort zone. I hope this Sunday will be a most joy-filled day for you and your flute!
