Because I’m from Florida, rain has always been something normal and comforting to me, even during hurricane season. I have so many beautiful memories of being in the car or in my house with my family during a rainstorm. Sometimes I’d listen to classical music or watch a movie, but usually I’d read a book or two.
I live in the desert now, so during the rare occasions of rain, I go outside, lie on the sidewalk, and just soak it in, basking in the gray sky and heavy clouds. It’s cathartic and stress-relieving. Thank you for this, Nemo. It’s reminded me of the beauty of so many simple moments I can’t appreciate while experiencing them.
I love this! In the 80s my grandparents would take us on road trips in their big comfy cadillac. My grandma had old cassette tapes with oldies just like this she would play. Sometimes it would rain too. My sister and I would fall asleep. Thank you for helping me relive my childhood memories. ❤

I have very good memories of my parents putting the seats down in the station wagon for me and my brother in a long drive to our grandparents house. My dad would put the radio on very softly and let us have a rest before we got there. Thank You very much for this.

Man, this takes me back. My dad’s family lived in the country and we typically visited them every other Sunday. It was dark by the time we left, and Dad always gave the horn a little honk as we left. I remember seeing the lights of the farmhouses as we drove by as I drifted off to sleep.
But my favorite car ride memory is our annual vacation to Ocean City, New Jersey. We left very early in the morning (while it was still dark), with Dad driving, Mom in the front seat, and me in the back under a mountain of blankets and pillows. Waking up and getting that first whiff of ocean air was the best. When I got a little older and didn’t fall asleep right away, I would keep my eyes closed but try to keep track of where we were since we typically took the same route from our house to the beach.

My 4 year old daughter likes to fall asleep to this. She says this is our family (The little boy looks like her brother as well) she's asked me where she is in the video and I tell her that she is the other side of the car asleep.

As a kid we would go across country to visit our family in Oregon. I remember my father driving my mother in the passenger seat. And me and my sister in the back seat. We were in a 4 door Pontiac, me and my sister would take turns laying in the back window. No seat belts, just laying head to toe from window to window watching the people behind us. With my mother keeping time. Every 20 minutes we would have to switch places. The back seat was more comfortable than my bed. I would fall asleep, and my sister got to stay in the window. No internet, no cellphones, just the family. Best time of my life.
