I remember watching Doug back in 1991 and it featured the Beets. You gotta love “Killer Tofu” since there’s nothing like it! Too bad there was never a full album done by the Beets! If it were so, I would be the first to get it!
The more important point is that this cartoon band is much better than most of the music on the radio these days!!! I think the music is more brittish rock style- very similar to the kinks and ramones
I'm 27...and I never stopped watching cartoons. I'm an illustrator. Wouldn't make much sense for me NOT to keep up with that kind of stuff, now would it? LOL! ;)
@@zippoboy00 Seriously, the greatest fictional band ever. The other songs Shout your lungs out and i need more allowance are amazing too. I think ramones and kinks are the closest comparison to this.
Yeah, to anyone who thinks that my generation doesn't favor today's music SOLELY because we're now hitting our early 30's need only listen to this song. My generation's music was so good even our CARTOONS rocked your F***IN' socks!!! WOOO!!!!!
Lets face it people the cartoons from the 80's and early 90's just completely dominate all other cartoons that are out there in this day and age i mean at least back then the cartoons were hand drawn and computer animation was still just being heard of if at all our cartoons rocked and the beets are a great example of just how hard we 80's babies rock
awwww i was watching doug on youtube then this song was playing on one of the episodes now i am just thinking back i am thinking how much nicer life seamed to be back then and not just because i was a kid wish i could go back and re do some of it
duckman398686 Agree with you 1,000 %! I always get choked up at that part since I rediscovered this song about 5 years ago. Reminds me of my childhood with one of my best friends I knew my whole life. She lives out of state but we still keep in touch by sending funny messages, especially 90’s/nickelodeon gifs to each other now and then.
Lyrics Fast food feels fuzzy Cause it's made from stuff that's skuzzy I always thought I was such a nerd I refused to touch that strange bean curd I wouldn't eat it, WOW!But it ate you! Ah eeh ooh, Killer tofu. (Eeyae.) Oooh eeh ooh, Killer tofu! I eat my sugar cereal But it makes my teeth bacterial (Eeyaeyo, Eeyae) If you feel kinda cruddy, (Eeyae) Just stick right by your buddy (Eeyaeyo) I don't eat, t-t-t-t-t-too much fried food!
Nick version was way better..Billy West was amazing as Doug and Roger..and the Beets were a great recurring bit. In the Disney version, Doug seemed more shy and allowed Skeeter to be a little more dominant, whereas the reverse seemed to be true in the Nick version. And the Disney version of Roger was a joke, no edge at all..just a tough talker.
It's what you get when creators love what they create and have the freedom to do what they like. A lot of crap, but sometimes, as with the Beets, shining glory.
Billy West didn't do the Disney version..the idea of making Roger rich was awful..he didn't seem materialistic in the Nick version, like Bebe was. and the character of Doug, he didn't seem as confident in the latter version, more of a pushover.
33 years old jamming to this in my car! Let’s gooooo

I still want a full version of "Where's My Sock?"
I don't care what other people say, the Beets are classic punk rock.
Blasting this in my car today!

FUCK YEAH!
Sounds like the ramones and kinks
@@dynamicdave2647 No. The bass lines are far away better than Ramones...
Love the harmonies of their voices shame that these songs were never released on a CD
Rylosalex if you look up Doug & the beets on spotify you'll find an album with these songs. These versions are much better though.

That drum solo is EPIC
The Beetz and Dethklok are the best non-existent bands of all time
Yes, with honorable mention for Spinal Tap & Steele Dragon, who obviously only aspire to be as cool as The Beets.
don't forget *The midnight Riders* from Left 4 dead.

I wacked my phone on my face so hard out of excitement and cracked my screen
This brings back my childhood.

Beets literally improved my health. LITERALLY! If you suffer hypertension, have BEET juice in the morning! Works for anemia too.

I have a shirt with the same picture as the video. Only one person in the wild has understood it.
I just got this logo hat myself. Can’t wait until somebody recognizes it.
i dont know but this song needs ....MORE COWBELL!

I see an interpolation of blüe oyster!

Ahhhhh being a kid in the 90s was rad lol
This is entirely way better than it has even remotely any business being.
Damn.... Just Damn!!
If nostalgia had a guitar riff, it would start at around around 0:11.

And they went from a nice small school to this megalith disgusting school.
How is it that the best fictional band is in a humble simple cartoon called Doug?
It's what you get when creators love what they create and have the freedom to do what they like. A lot of crap, but sometimes, as with the Beets, shining glory.
@@JJ-qo7th it doesn't hurt when Fred Newman's part of your team.
Goods Memories from Doug Narinas on Nickelodeon. Oh Yeaaaaaaaaah
En inglés no se llama "Doug Narinas" se llama "Doug Funnie", acabas de decir que te gusta "Doug fosas nasales" jajajajaja
Nice work man!!!
Hey man how come this gets no air play 🤯
Dat cowbell.
1.25 for The Clash Killer Tofu's

Billy West wasn't in Disney's version cause they couldn't afford him.
A-Mazing

This sounds like Soda Stereo
Sounds like the kinks or ramones
Wow it’s stupid they have full song to this and the other 2 songs but not the other songs that were mentioned in the show like “Zombie Girlfriend”
Does anyone know actually who recorded these songs for the show?
Doug Preis and Fred Newman, I should think.
Dan Sawyer and Fred Newman
