    My house was built in 1970 it was my parents house now it's mine I grew up in it. The washer and dryer is in the garage next to the water heater. What the Builder did back then is they put the vent for the dryer underneath the concrete slab, or more or less through the slab. it went out about 25 ft and came out the back of the house ground level.( piss poor design No Doubt) Well after 15 years from 1970 (1970-85 )the thing kept getting plugged up not to mention all the critters frogs and stuff that went into the vent in the back. Clothes wasn't drying very well. So my dad just disconnected it and let it blow into the garage. This is a electric dryer not a gas. We've been doing it this way ever since yes it warmed up the garage. When I was a kid working on my bicycles or my dad working on the car. Then to me working on my cars to this day it warms up the garage. As long as it's not a gas dryer it's all good.

      Wow 😮 I can't believe they put the vent underground!! I agree with you. As long as it's an electric dryer I will use this method to warm up my garage. I know people that warm up their houses with other style products. Happy Holidays!

      I’m also living in a house that was given to my husband by his grandma :) The dryer is also in the garage. I guess it’s been decades since it was cleaned out because whenever I turn the dryer on, it blows out so much dust. It’s done that for who knows how long - even before I moved in. The garage is full of dust. I’m finally researching a solution. Hopefully once it’s fixed, I can enjoy the warm air like you 😊

    These are for electric dryers only according to the link you provided.
    I think gas dryers exhaust fumes through the heat exhaust so you would have carbon monoxide in the exhaust

      Thanks for that! That's why I made it clear in the video for everyone to check because I have an electric dryer. I have never used it in my house before, but it does what it needs to do in my garage. And it increases the temperature by about 3 to 4°

      @@ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV I have a smaller one on my dryer and vent it into the basement, and the moisture and heat help the rest of the house

    Thanks for this video. It will help us to decide how we want to vent the dryer in our basement.

      I'm glad it was helpful! You gave me an idea because I might also want to heat the basement. But it might be too much work, LOL. Thanks for the comment!!!

    Portable dryer I ordered goes up to 140 degrees. Putting on my bathroom meaning in the summer my bathroom could be over 140 degrees with a vent like this

      Hello friend, At the 2:00 mark, I talked about the vent diverter. The purpose of the diverter is to divert the dryer heat outside during the summer and inside during the winter. This should not be a permanent install indoors!!!!
      I hope this helps. Take care!

    I would not vent inside in summer when you need A/C so a diverter is a must. A diverter should be included in the vent design.

    • @ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV
      @ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I divert outside during summer. Unfortunately, the diverter is sold separately. I wish it were included. Happy holidays!

    With the hose going up like that, where do you suppose the moisture goes?

      Hello friend, At the 2:00 mark, I talked about the vent diverter, but I may not have explained the moisture part in this video. For the moisture, you can divert your dryer to go outside for the first 10 minutes or so. Then, you can divert your device diverter back.
      I hope this helps. Take care!

      Cool. Just curious are you using it in the home or garage? I remember posting this on Facebook years back, and it felt like I was in a political debate! It seems like anything you do to save energy and money for your home is against the code! Even rain barrels !!!!

    I was wondering how you would deal with the big hole in the wall. Good to know diverters exist

    I used to run panty hose at the end of the vent hose. Had to do what I could to save on heat bill. Plus made the house smell good

    I'm north of some parts of the Canadian border here in Maine, so it's winter most of the year. (June 4 and I'm still running the heater!) I don't think I'll even bother with an outside dryer vent. I'm trying to keep inside, not heat the outside! That led me to this video. Do you think this product is a better solution than a homemade 5 gallon bucket filled with water? Thanks.

    • @ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV
      @ALWAYSOCCUPIEDTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for dropping by. I'm sorry for the late reply. I think this method is better. If you have damp clothes, divert them outside for a few minutes and then divert them back. I think the people who make laws don't like this because they can't benefit. WE SHOULD CONTROL OR UTILITIY BILL
      Just like how they don't like us collecting rain
      Thanks, and take care

    They make it illegal to collect rainwater because they want you to pay for the natural resources. It is the same how they make it illegal to produce your tobacco or worse marijuana because they want the tax dollars. I don't remember which agency but now they are asking people who garden to register. I assume they have a plan in the future that people must have a license to grow their vegetables in their yard.
