      Personal projects are the way to go. They are super fun because it's something you're interested in and you learn a ton.

    Im going through The Odin Project. I'm working towards the JavaScript Dev cert. Should I pump the brakes and start learning apex / platform dev. cert material?

    Hey Walter, thank you for your videos, I wanted to go in Development, and was wondering if becoming a SF Dev was the right choice (Opening doors quickly but I was worried it would close some) after watching your videos, I'm realizing SF Dev is not closing any doors in the future! Will watch carefully for the next videos!

      Happy this video helped. Salesforce development isn't locking you into anything. You can easily pivot to other stacks.

    Thank you for your video! I am currently part of the Salesforce ecosystem but as a marketing cloud consultant and I like to transfer myself to a Salesforce fev. So based on your recommendation I should pick up APEX and try to get dev based project?

      You can do it! The most important thing is to start. Apex is a great language for doing things inside of the Salesforce platform but the language doesn't really matter. Just start trying to create something and see where it lands.

    Hey sir! Just Started watching your videos and they are very insightful into the salesforce ecosystem.
    I am currently working in a salesforce environment as a accidental "admin" without the certification, with the title:
    Salesforce business analyst
    Right now I am studying for admin but my end goal is to become a developer within salesforce and in general. Since I do development for fun on the side in Java, C#. I dont have a degree but taking part time classes in my computer science degree via WGU online.
    Do you think that salesforce development is a great career into development in general? Can I go and and then branch out later on??

      Great questions, there are definitely opportunities to take development skills from Salesforce and transfer them into other development roles. The great part about programming is once you know it for one language you basically know it for all.

    I'm a full stack developer thinking to land a job or switch to Salesforce certification to get better jobs, does it require coding interviews too? Or is it comparetively simpler then Software Engineering Interviews or jobs?

    • @Walters954
      @Walters954  ปีที่แล้ว

      Salesforce jobs and interviews are just as rigorous as any other development job. You may find jobs that don't have an in-depth interviewing process but I'd personally be worried if/why they were hiring a developer.

      Keep on pushing. Have you done resume reviews or mock interviews. You have everything you need to get your foot in the door.
