Hi Gibson, cycling is about about bringing in nitrifying bacteria in the filter media, I would suggest you to have the actual canister or top filter to be part of the cycling process, because that is where the bacteria can develop and stay forever. The bacteria present in the water will reduce when you change it with fresh water. Just a thought from my end, thanks 😊.

Did you use the seaview for the background and if so is it still stuck. I used that after being told it was great but 4 months later it's coming away from the back and you try moving a 230 litre tank to redo it.

Japanese Inspired I lower the water level in order for me to check the water quality from time to time by observing the bubbles. Only old generation fish keepers know about it.
Japanese Inspired from the bubbles you will roughly know if need to change water. 50yrs ago no such thing as water test kits selling here. My late grandfather taught me.
U HV inspired me to write comment. U well done. An experienced willing expert demanding quality results. Constructive suggestions are not to add good beteria to new water, bacteria will die from zero nutrients and add fishes gradually. My future plan is to layer bottom enpty space for collecting fish wastes for easy discharge. Multiple Immersed pump filers will HV less frequent cleaning alternatively. Waste compactment will HV valve for pumping to drain.
@@Rozerdnash22 Yes. Normally local fish keepers will only use 2 feet tank for one flowerhorn. Of course the bigger the better for it to swim but due to space and weight constraints in Singapore house, we can't use big and heavy tank.
The overhead filter's wire is too short, unable to plug into power connector and I want my tank to be neat so changed to internal filter follow by corner filter which is more easy to do cleaning.

William Teng 每一种过滤器都有优缺点，谈不上哪种比较好。罗汉只养一条水不会太脏，用上部过滤器比较容易清理。我通常再加一个内部过滤器，一个坏了还有一个在用，不必马上去买。
