Fastest 2022 VB WRX at Subinats 2024! SMSP GP

Subinats 2024 done and dusted! Andre smashed his PB’s on all three tracks and we walk away being the fastest VB WRX on the day!
Our journey to Subinats 2024 was definitely a bitter sweet affair. We initially setup our VB WRX for sprint class rules only to find out a day before the event that the VB WRX platform was penalised an extra 30 points for the chassis which pushed us into Track class where we were to contend with Subarus having more development, power, and weight advantages over us. BUT we decided to give it a red hot crack and stay in Track class despite knowing that we would not get near a podium… we wanted to go faster and make more progress, test more limits… so we threw on some used R Spec tyres and went out to have some fun.
We ran the VB WRX on 260KW for the first two track configurations where Andre managed to better PBs from Subinats 2023. Then on the GP Circuit (same as WTAC layout), we turned up the power to 280KW ATW which saw Andre smashing his WTAC results by 1.8sec snagging a 1:41.8 in the last session… He was on the way to an even faster final lap, but it was not mean to be as low fuel levels caused fuel surge and he called it quits.
All in all, we are super happy with the results achieved with the VB WRX, pushing and developing this platform has been a fun learning curve and we will continue to try and drop those lap times at each outing!
