If you can have someone watch for the parts houses that go under or move and sell the contents, it helps quite a bit. I bought Hydraulic hose machine and a 90 ton press from a moving NAPA! The press is a little big, but was cheap. You just have to write down the fittings used for reorder. I forget stuff. So Hello from Texas!
Sorry for your troubles. Thank you for sharing the hose idea to relieve the hydraulic pressure I’ve always had a time cranking and know body never had a answer to fix the problem. Thanks
Watching your breakdown with that bill off a new pump and thought it was bad but then watched Grandpa Ivers Farm with the combine ditching ..... well there's always something. Great video .
Sorry about all your luck there buddy!! it's got to be hard I know from farming my self for years every time you get started on something seems like some goes bad I'll be praying for you

Matt’s a good guy. I really wish all farmers tried to work together, but it seems like everyone’s afraid someone else is gonna swoop in and take land from you or learn someone’s secrets. Those pickers are a lot to keep up I’m sure. Found that out no longer than I helped Matt work on his.
Looks to be on a small decline i would pull it backwards to neutralize the forward pressure, just as a last effort before speeding the money . I have had to do that more than once on older equipment when placed into park on a hill.
When we had a good year and needed some write-offs we invested in one of them 3/16"-1 1/4" Parker hydraulic hose crimping stations. We also run a jd excavator tearing out tree groves similar to your operation and seems like hydraulic hoses never end. Best investment on the farm between implements and tree grapples we use it a ton... thing is damn handy for planter problems with weather coming or issues on weekends when our local places are closed. Tool should last for my kids and their kids was my thought because they aren't cheap..
I will take a bad radiator hose over a hydro transmission. And the hose is a crazy route thru that picker .perseverance is the only way .good job, keep on keeping on. You are definitely keeping it real .
When my dad farmed he wouldn’t buy any halfway modern equipment, oh hell no, we ran 283 tractor mounted cotton strippers longer than any of our neighbors, took us forever to get it all pulled. His philosophy was that buying newer, 8 row cotton strippers to run them two weeks out of the year. I’d tell him , we grow this crop all year, why do you want to leave it in the field and risk it falling out ? He paid enough in taxes to have bought newer equipment but he’d rather pay a bunch in taxes than to have decent equipment. Me and the hands worked our asses off, for months at harvest. Now I’m proud to say I have bought enough equipment to get the job done in a timely manner. John Deere should give you a million dollar warranty to go with that million dollar stripper lol.
That sucks having so much trouble. Sometimes I wonder would a cotton stripper be better than a picker? I know John Deere makes both. Plus that hydraulic hose is ridiculous. That definitely isn't going to be a cheap hose to replace. Be safe.
@@TheCropCritic we went with a brand out of Arkansas called PickSmart..it’s been pretty decent so far…no hiccups at all on our 7760…and they claim if we have any problems with it and they’ll replace it.
I farm some too and you ain't gonna like this but no way in hell would I sink a million dollars in a piece of equipment I would use for two weeks. I am sure you have your reasons so I will leave it at that. To justify owning one of those rollers you have to pick 2000 to 3000 acres of cotton a year. Don't know your acreage but do you custom harvest? Neighbor had a 9960 brand new that wouldn't start. Turned out to be a 50 cent fuse under the seat. Took dealer three days of fine picking weather to find it...
No offense but Jd I the worst for running hydraulic hoses like spaghetti noodles. There log skiiders and bunchers are the absolute worst they rub against each other and leek like a fool.

All these problems and expenses are why I have mine custom picked, costly, but I was done in 4 days

It works like a charm. Release’s the pressure.
@@TheCropCritic Tried the hose deal, do you have trouble getting the hose off once cranked? i did

Yeah they’ve had a string of bad luck as well.

Hope cotton harvest gets better soon! Love your farming and can't wait to check your wheat out 👍💪
The wheat is up and looks awesome!

Yes Matt is as good as they come. We both bounce ideas off of each other. There is a lot of moving parts on these machines.

I thought about getting one myself but my brother in law has a full setup next door.
When it rains it pours...hate to see you having all these problems. Hopefully it gets better and you can have some smooth running
Just part of it. Picker is getting some age on it now to where stuff is wore.
we lease a new picker every year and i just cleaned up and sent off a 25 model with 900 fan hours

Hope cotton harvest goes well, love that cap, do you have merch for sale?
Yes. farmmerchbin.comm. All my gear is sold on this website.
What gets me it’s never the actual part that goes out. It’s always a freaking sensor.
That pablo seems like a good ole boy. Bet hes a hell of a worker too.
Yes he’s as good as they come. Dang hard worker.
Saw alot of purple wrap this year, also some tan and almost orange. SE Arkansas
Tru pick wrap was a disaster. I’d like to try some of the SMA wrap but nobody sells it up here.

That’s awesome that you have established that mentality. That’s exactly what it takes.
$1,300,000.00 should have a super warranty if only used two weeks out of the year
They are proud of them for sure.
Hey, do you ever make a second pass on those cotton rows in order to cut down on some of the apparent waste?
Years ago we use to scrap it meaning picking it twice. There is not enough there to justify the cost of picking it twice.
@@TheCropCritic Thanks, that's good to know.

Damn sure don’t want a stripper. Extremely hard on a cotton gin.
@@TheCropCritic I honestly didn't know that.
Interesting I don’t know anything about cotton , here sw Indiana really is only 3 hrs from u probably but don’t see any cotton until u go south
What’s the difference in a cotton picker and a cotton stripper ?
Picker picks it out of the burr. A stripper strips it off the stalk.
damg hate to see you fighting this trouble right out the gate need brand new picker and let deere come fix it under warranty
Cant afford a new one. This one has no payment at all which means a lot.
You didn’t go with TruPick on your wrap this year???
No. We had a bunch of trouble out of it last year. Wasted several rolls of wrap.

We didn’t pay a million dollars for ours. Ours is one of the first models that we bought used.
Sorry for you r problems you know why I hate to run a combine

The guy that thought about running these through the tailgate is a idiot!
