This is absolutely beautiful and very moving. I could at one time play similarly, but at 70 arthritis has taken my dexterity. I can still strum, and still use Cakewalk! Thanks for playing this for us mate, very much appreciated, and well played.
Hang in therw my brother! I'm 68 with tendonitis but still play thru it on my beloved Taylor every say until I can't make anything but cowboy chords. Nothing wrong with cowboy chords.
You can probably reverse your arthritis with a very low or zero carb carnivore diet and a boron supplement. Look up Dr. Ken Berry, Dr. Shaw Baker, Judy Cho, Bart Kay, Dr. Anthony Chaffee and others or, just look up, "carnivore diet arthritis." Hope you can get back to playing like you used to!
On Jan 3, 2023 my 214CE-N arrives! Ordered without doing much research but my Lord did I make the right purchase! What a lovely sounding instrument! I've played fingerstyle Bossa Nova on my D'Angelico Hollow Body archtop electric for years now and I can't wait to play my music on this beauty!
Beautiful sound!!! I compared this intepratation with Andrew York playing on a Antonio Torres 1888 guitar, unexpecting result: absolutely the closest I ever heard !! It is an amazing guitar!!! Thank you.
Please notice the microphone setup. One of the reasons this sounds so good, along with beautiful playing and a nice guitar, is that it's properly mic'd and not plugged in.
Mike, you do so many wonderful things for us with your videos, and then you surprise us with these beautiful pieces you play. Up until recently when you started sharing some of this with us, I had no idea you could play such things. That was really nice. Thank you for sharing that with us.....sure hope you share more things like that. As if you don't share enough things with us already. Really awesome Mike, thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to share this outstanding recording which I've listened to several times, also for pointing out the truss, new tuners, along with my new 214ce-n is on its way. Savarez string note is much appreciated.
Duane, do you know which Savarez strings in particular? There seem to be several rectified strings on the market. And I want these!! 😂 appreciate any insight
Mike, I’m a long time subscriber to your channel. Your content is superb, useful and entertaining…yet I have never left a comment until now. It would be rude, obnoxious and unthinkable not to thank you for sharing this gorgeous performance. Truly masterful.
GREAT demo! Thank you. Pairs beautifully with my coffee & fresh snow this morning. I have been looking at a Cordobo ... and a Yamaha ... but the Taylor's sound is off-the-charts good. This would make my third Taylor! Blessed that my wife endorses my passion!! 🥰🎸👍
@@CreativeSauce Hey do you know by any chance if your Taylor 214ce N is the newer refreshed model? I've seen a lot of 214ce N with a darker back and yours is lighter. I can't find any information on this.
@@CreativeSauce It is so strange that I can't find anything online. It's clear that there are 3 aesthetically different versions of 214ce N. Black special edition, light back and dark back.
Beautiful demonstration of the capabilities of this wonderful, greatly underrated instrument. It is a sleeper! Yours is a beautiful performance. I have this model, and as for you, it is one of my favorites.
Beautiful music. I have a 10 year-old 214ce and like it more than the 314ce I just got. What do you think about Taylor's new V bracing and use of Sapele wood?
I'm a fan of the videos bracing. I have it in my 814 CE Dlx. The biggest surprise to me was how it improves intonation. This made no sense to me, until I read this... www.unofficialtaylorguitarforum.com/index.php?topic=8861.0
Saludos.
Beautiful song and played excellently! Just purchased the same model, new. Can't find any tabs for this song, can you please give a tutorial on how to play this song? Would love to learn to play it on my new 214CEN. Thank you for sharing.
Soo Nice😃.. After the first couple bars on the sneak preview I thought to myself "I really need to get a classical guitar". On a twist to your story - if you would have been my kid brother - I would probably have been an even worse music teacher - maybe.
This guitar sounds really great for the price, which incidentally is identical to the price of a pair of Neumann KM184 mikes... which preamp did you use?
Very Beautiful Rendition! Thank you for sharing, Your video inspired me to buy a Taylor 214ce-n and increase my knowledge on classical! Thank you for that! I have a question are you using the"520R Rectified"?
Hi Lynn. I recorded using 2 small diaphragm condensers in an XY configuration. For this the mics were quite a lot further away than I normally would for a steel string - almost 2 feet away. It felt more balanced like that, with less finger noise. I used a small amount of compression (WA-2A), and used some dynamic EQ to control the low end - but almost no EQ apart from that. Then just a single plate reverb!
How were you able to change the tuners to gold? Was this an after market replacement and if so could you share more details as to which ones and where purchased? Thank you!!
Nice work Mike, those Taylor nylons are nice, I tried a few in the shop. Interesting string choice - are those the HT strings? I've settled on D'addario Pro Arte strings, after trying a few, which have a good tone and wear at an affordable price. I love everything about my nylon guitar (a Yamaha SLG200-N) apart from re-stringing it. Always a chore.
Thanks Andrew. Yeah it's the HT ones. The high strings have a kind of matt finish which I like. Yeah, I hear you on the restringing- and they take a while to stay in tune.
Because of financial problems, I had to sell my Roger Sadowski Solid body electric Nylon guitar. To this day, I've never heard another brand come close to it's sound and also warmth for classical, or jazz.

I played one of these in the store. unbelievable action for a nylon.
what a touching piece of music.. played with heart.. and really shows off what this model (and a nylon acoustic) can do!
Beautiful presentation of a lovely guitar.
Please notice the microphone setup. One of the reasons this sounds so good, along with beautiful playing and a nice guitar, is that it's properly mic'd and not plugged in.

Every acoustic player owes it to themselves to experience a Taylor nylon string guitar. If I had one guitar it would be my 312 ce N. ❤️
Beautiful playing and feel you make me wanna buy this guitar !
That was so incredibly moving.Just beautiful. Thank You, Sir!
Great tone, Mike! Cheers!
Thanks Marcio :)
Beautiful sounding guitar, Mike!

Lovely playing Mike, we don’t hear enough of you playing guitar. You are really good 🎸
