My biggest struggle with the game is deciding which damage type (melee, range, magic) to lean into because they all have pros and cons. Good balance I suppose
So I have a fun couple things I've been testing myself. I've been working on reverse engineering the damage calculations and along side that the enemy resistances. Generally the formula I've derived is along the lines of an Applied Damage Equation: Sum of damages from the different types a weapon has. Where each damage type is calculated as Damage Type * (1 + (Stat Type * 0.05)) * "Buffs" * Resistance. An example of the Ignited Hammer being (210) * (24 * 0.05) * (1 + Vukarrr [0.2] + Elixir [0.3] + 10% Melee Skill [0.1] + etc.) * Resistance of enemy type. In terms of two-handed weapons, there seem to be some hidden buffs (like the dmg diff between the blunt weapons showcased). Thus far in terms of my testing, for enemy resistances there are more or less 4 different enemy types that exist: Animal (Vukah seem to fall under this as well), Scavenger, Hollow, Shroud, and possibly some exceptions dependent on enemy. The only resistance type i've more or less confirmed the effect of is against the shroud type enemies using melee. It seems to be an additional multiplicative buff of 1.2, or 20%, on the one handed melee weapons (not including any magic damage or bonuses on a weapon).
Oh yeah, and for pretty much all enemies, besides shroud type, the resistance for shroud damage is 1.3 (+30% to overall damage rather than the additive "buffs"). Meaning that shroud is very effective against most enemies.
I would say that constitution is over rated past a certain point. Health potions and crit healing along with all the armor and resistance make it much less important IMO. Those points can be saved and used to get extra damage output with crit% and crit damage, as well as significantly more damage to flying enemies, if you go into the ranger tree.
9:48 Technically, Ice Blade has the same number of precise perks - three. However, SoR does have two brutal perks which makes it lean more towards a critical build than Ice Blade does. Ice Blade has ice damage and cutting damage iirc. It's also easier to get a good SoR than a good IB since the three precise perks on SoR are on the first three lines, while it's on the last three lines for IB.
@@woodenmetal2977 ice blade is a good alt option for sure but we run radiance because of that brutal if our critical hits do more dmg because of brutal then we gain more health. Ice blade has same crit rate but those crit won’t be as strong

@@callumritchie168 not quite. Early one I’d just focus more on the tank tree stuff for better survivability then slowly work into the more offensive stuff later. Once ur able to run hollow halls make sure to pick up jump attack as well will rly help with add clear faster

early just go one handed tree and pick up early constitution for survivability. once u progress far enough along to start doing hollowed halls start working your way into two handed and jump attack for quicker clearing. then pick as u see fit after that to boost further
I am running a really fun spec rn, wouldn't call it a mage per se, but I dip into healer and use blink and the anti-stun blink, and 2 pts in spirit, pair that with the skill in the tank tree (name escapes me) where after a dodge you can do a special attack add merciless attack and the other stun/parry perks and it beats the brakes off their stun bar, and jump spam=dead. Situation is dependent on its validity of course...
If you only take either 1 hand or 2 handed passives and not both it is possible but I would still focus 70% 30% instead of 50% 50% using less focus on magic , mainly to harass from afar and use healing and then melee when its safer
well see.... i dont like mixing classes rly because the way the skill tree is built u dont get any benefits. ex.. say your sword has +5 fire dmg. snagging the bonus fire dmg perk from the mage skill tree doesn't make your sword do more fire dmg... nothing is linked in that way its either all mage, all warrior, or all hunter, (which is dumb imo) but just how it is. your not going to be maximizing your skill points efficiency when u split classes like that unfortunately. hopefully down the road they change that.
I feel as my biggest issue with Melee is stamina, if overrun, I gotta run away and try to defeat packs in detail, but running costs stamina, and blocking does, trying to roll away from damage also costs stamina, I rarely have enough it feels and I think my gamestyle is not so good. What tricks do you use? Combos? How do you manage this?
the first big things is the armor i specifically picked the armor i did because several pieces are hunter pieces that give you tons of stamina and stamina regen. second is the perks. gotta through in a few points of endurance. and lastly is just knowing enemy weaknesses and having game smarts. my warrior build covers everything u need for both 1 and 2H so if ur in a hollow halls dont blow through stam with a 1 handed weapon when u can just jump smash everything doing tons of Aoe and take them out faster using less stamina.. all of those things combined lead to a very powerful build/class that typically doesnt have much stamina issues.

Basically same build I use except I've been running daggers for my new playthrough so I use the dagger gloves and trailblazer pants. I will say though, even fully skilled out, daggers are underwhelming compared to any other weapon, unless you sneak everywhere
The only thing that bums me out about the skill tree is how to best prioritize as you go (assuming you're starting from scratch). Any insights you can share?
for warrior id go 1 handers first as well as bunch of perks into constitution for more health/survivability. then as u rank up start switching to two handed to clear bigger packs of mobs out in hollow halls etc to level faster. your going to want to take double jump attack for that downsmash once you have those two things fully upgraded ur golden just weave the rest of the skills in as u level up to fill it out
nope. it used to back when i made my insanely strong shroud hunter build but the devs nerfed it into the ground after seeing my video and made shroud arrows excluded from that category. they did the same thing after watching my insanely strong old school acid bite build video. they nerfed acid bite into the ground as well. and made it so acid bite cant spawn orbs on crit anymore lol.
yes i know but im currently using it for legendary farming. which is why i set the server to brutal difficulty. ill most likely swap it out for the next hunter build variation and do my demo there next time.
im a solo player. so every build i make is a solo build. i dont recomend multi classing because its not an efficient way to split up your skill perks. unfortunately the devs dont share dmg attributes right now across weapons.. ex. if your sword has +5 fire dmg and u wanna dual class ur build and take the bonus fire dmg perks in the wizard tree... that bonus fire dmg perk doesnt make your sword do more dmg... the perks only work for the weapons they are intended for. so bonus fire magic perks only buff wands and staffs. your sword will not get stronger. Despite people thinking it does.. (which i think is dumb) once the devs change this and make the wording match the weapons then i may consider doing a dual class build. until then its not worth imo.

@@GPxGP u can use them wherever u want but they r best in hollow halls cuz there range isn’t that great and enemies r more tightly packed there so u get more bang for your buck. I demonstrated this in my old “pyro necro” mage build a few months back
oh i def parry. they give u a bit of leeway on the meteors but u def still have to time the block. too soon or too late and u will just get hit by them.

all armor is crafted from the corresponding vendors this time around. the new sets wont show up until u locate and mine/gather at least 1 of the required materials for each set. (warm padding, silver bars/silver ore, obsidian ore, steel bars, amethyst etc... start hunting down all those crafting materials and then youll start seeing those new armor crafting recipes show up in the vendors lists.

Build is nice, but what about us unemployed no social life people who don't need to sleep and have all 24 hours each day to sink into resource grinding for the true king of Enshrouded builds, the fabled Explosive Arrow II build ;) lmfao

Before melee was the worst option but with the new ability to pull down flying monster i think they are quite decently balanced

The Ignited Hammer has a faster attack speed, so doing less damage per swing, but swings faster.

Isn't shroud arrow trigger same explosive effect by 1/3 of explosive arrow cost ?

There's a spot in the north with same monsters at lvl 35 instead of 25 that would be a good demo spot.

What are your thoughts on the Dark Morningstar for piercing damage?
its good but only has 3 dmg perks compared to the weapons i chose having 5 dmg perks. the more flat dmg the better imo. its more consistent.

In the video it looks like u just block the Meteors coming at u. is it not a Parry mechanic where u have to time it perfectly?

best way now is by taming the rooster looking animals they give u several every few minutes. but u can still find them in wyvern nests
