It’s actually nice to see Gardnerville, NV, as that’s where my late father retired to back in 1995.
He passed away last year; he’s now buried in the National Cemetery of Northern Nevada in Fernley.
I’m hopeful I’ll be able to go back and visit the area again?
I really enjoyed seeing US 395 from Mono Lake Northbound; I’d also like to see Tahoe City, NV again. The last time I saw Tahoe City was back in 1985.

Tahoe City is in CA. Since 1985, it’s changed a lot. The lake is still as gorgeous as ever.
Once 395 gets into the mountains, it’s arguably the prettiest mountain road in California.

Driven that route quite a few times going to the Lake Tahoe area. Definitely preferred going up Hwy 395 from San Diego than going through the central valley. Really liked Gardnerville and Minden. They were our second choice for a new home after the Twin Falls, Id. area. We used to stop at the Raley's in Gardnerville for last minute groceries.

Good one as usual: Noticed early on either a County SO or NHP cruiser had somebody pulled over on the southbound side. And you'd think that for an important road like 395 is, Nevada DOT would be paying more attention, for there's some parts that could use a road crew.

I completely understand that nostalgic feeling, I’ve loved these hwy 395 videos in part because for about 30 years, my family and I vacationed (collecting obsidian…rock collecting was our thing) in Lassen Creek (just north of Alturas, almost to Oregon). The drive from Los Angeles, mostly up the 395, was a familiar and memorable part of our trips. Your videos remind me of those times.

At least the 395 is a 4-lane hwy through to Carson City from Gardnerville, but they could do with some overpasses on that straight-away to Carson City to ease up congestion though. If you're heading toward the I-80 from Topaz Lake, you can take NV Hwy 208 through Yerington to Fallon. It can be a bit long, but it's pretty scenic with less traffic (lots of farm land).

I Never Took US 395 thru Downtown Due to the stoplights. I would Go thru Gardenerville Ranchos To NV-756 & Finish Bypassing via NV-88. I Can’t Wait Till the bypass/I-11 Comes Here. It Will Be an Improvement for thru Travelers.
