Basically, if you find yourself deploying the same custom "entity" (wall, tile, token, etc) more than once, then it's just easier to save it to library of presets. Or if you it are curious and want to tinker with the presets I've created, then you've got them. Let me know how you get along!
I wish I could drag out the folder and thus have everything done and ready from the get-go instead of having to drag every prefab out one by one and align them. Is there some way to attach them to each other? Or do I need another module for that? Say, if I move a building with walls.
Not exactly sure what you are trying to do here. Are you trying to deploy a bunch of prefabs all at once? Or are you trying to construct a prefab from tiles and other pieces? Maybe tell me the specific situation you are trying to create?
@@Baileywiki I have, say, a magical teleporting tavern that I can set up on different scenes. I have a "tavern tile" prefab, I have a "tavern walls" prefab, I have a "tavern sounds" prefab and I have a "tavern lights" prefab. If I could group and drag all of that out in one go is what I mean. Right now, I drag the tavern tile out, I drag the walls out and align them to the tile, I drag the sounds out and align them and then the lights out and align them. As well as maybe being able to group or attach them to each other. Meaning if I move or rotate the tavern 90 degrees, the other pieces (Walls, sounds, lights) can rotate with it. Maybe I'm just using this wrong and this isn't what the module is intended for? Which might be more about copying triggers?
Ah, you want to create prefabs with multiple entities attached. Check out this video. Mass Edit can definitely do this for you. Since this video, we added a convenient hotkey menu. Just select your main tile and press L. Then you can attach other entities to that tile. th-cam.com/video/XNmHmgXsDps/w-d-xo.htmlsi=__RIbEn6rSTEfE3o Once you have connected all of your entities, drag the tile into your mass edit window to save it there and use whenever you like. If you put it into a Brush, and even save it as a macro and to play anytime from your hot bar.
FYI @10:53 the drop down you click didnt get captured so its a bit hard to follow what youre doing at that point. Most of your vids have an issue with capturing the dropdown in the video itself FYI
Yeah, sorry about that. There's some complexity with recording drop downs that I haven't set to properly on my new laptop. I'll try to fix that for the next one. What you missed were three journal compendiums: one created by Mass Edit by default, and two created by me.
Are you asking how you add your own prefabs? If so, that's what the tutorial covers. Or are you asking something else? You can get some from Baileywiki Nuts and Bolts module, if you install and activate that, for example.
I've been using mass edit for like a year - i had NO idea this was here.... mind blown. Thank you BW.
Fascinating new feature. I'm not sure if I'm advanced enough to make full use of all of it, but I'm definitely going to try it out!

I love your new intro :)

@@Baileywiki Thank you for responding so quickly and helping me out!

1:59 for those of us who have just installed, how would i go about adding things into there?
