Like watching pros play 8 ball as it is not always a guaranteed run out, unlike 9 ball which has almost gotten to be. Saw Fedor Gorst in person at Jr Norris tournament in Wichita Falls, Tx last week.
I used to go to college in Wichita Falls, never would I have thought there would be a pro pool tourney there lol

"Cardboard cutouts" I agree, that breakout at 26:59 DEFINITELY deserved applause. That was a very nice shot. He would have gotten it from me, if I were there. The shot to the eight just after nudging the 15, too, at 28:04. And then to miss that eight...aaarg. I hate it when you do all the hard work and then just dog a reasonably easy shot. That sucked. That happens SOOO much with pros, make a very difficult shot or two, relax too much, and dog an easy one. I've seen all of the greats do it many times each. His next try on the eight wasn't great, either. A much harder shot, but he seemed to just throw his hands up and whack it. I thought when he jacked up like that he was going to masse for the side.
Gorst definitely played well. Not too many errors from either side, actually. Pretty good match. Nice to see SOMETHING other than 9 ball occassionally. :-)
At 28:04 I thought he couldn't have cut the 8 ball any further without hitting the nearby stripe ball first. But his body language made it seem like the shot was makeable. Wouldve liked to see a closeup angle of that one.
Why does Daniel look so hammered? Look at the poor kid's eyes.
He plays so much faster than nowadays!

Seems Daniel was defeated the moment he got to the table. Looked like he was going to start crying at any second and rushed every shot with poor position play. I feel for the kid I'm sure his nerves were sky high
I always enjoy the ASMR of 8-ball because it often reminds me of my childhood! This is the sport of my dreams! 😇
The 2022 EC U19 8ball final was 'slightly' faster, I think...
