We are in the 70s for several days, as another hurricane residue approaches mid America. Next week we are going to Fontana Lake in the Appellations of North Carolina. The trees are turning and we will rent a pontoon to fly the drones from and hopefully get some color.

I was thinking a dry pour concrete floor to start with and then I saw a comment thinking you would put in a gravel floor and I think now that rain season is coming so fast that gravel would be faster so all that 'organized' stuff wouldn't have to sit out in the rain while the concrete cured. Thanks for the video.

Agee, always shop end of season clearance. When your remote you always get extra like screws, nails, pvc fitting, glue, caulk and totes at the dollar store or sales.. you could probably put up a 4x4 post anchored to a rafter and offset hooks for small propane tanks to hang on. Did you figure out the rear window? Looking forward to the solar video..

I’ve been working on organizing and tidying up at the UK house. It’s great when stuff gets sorted. You get a lot more useable space back too. Started same task in NOLA, I’ll pick back up on that work when I get back in November. You are inspiring.

Concrete would be nice in the barn but would be a lot of it. Have you ever considered mixing concrete with the soil? I have seen some videos where it makes a nice firm surface.

I am welding together somerhing similiar to what you see at Walmart regarding a propane storage rack with locking door. Will have a gas manifold inside to power my hybrid generator and wall heater. Just thought that i would throw that out there because you have so many propane bottles. Good video.

on the shoe rack put a piece of rug on each shelf for the winter this way the snow from boots on top dont drip into boots underneath

I don’t know in what part of the barn you’re gonna do your maple syrup in but I wouldn’t leave the chairs up there to collect moisture, not good for the wood.
My maple syruping is going to be under the new covered area next to the mini cabin. 😊

I believe y’all are just like every couple! If they don’t bicker every once in awhile something’s not right, right. Lol! It’s great to get all organized before winter gets there. I am curious though as to why y’all have 3 stoves. Lol! One inside and two outside. I figure you have one outside so if your baking a lot, like when you bake lots of bread, so it doesn’t get so hot inside, but why the third. Maybe it doesn’t work. lol. Maybe I’m just being too nosy. lol. I do like that big shelf y’all put together. That was smart using the smaller one for shoes in the mud room. Looks good out there guy’s.

one of the hardest lessons i learned was to get away from conventional thinking, everything is done farmer style because everything is so far away, my advice is to never think about what you need to fix something or make something, try to think more like 'what i have to fix something or make something' that's when i never threw anything away again. i have a good junk pile behind the barn and junky junk pile right next to it. in fact, my neighbor has a junk pile, we know what each other has.

I don't believe that Chris could ever challenge you Kristie.....just seems silly, ha ha. The barn is 20 deep and 40ish wide including the lean-tos. Inside is 26ish wide

I was going to ask if having a dirt floor works out for y'all. I would say maybe y'all going to put some large rubber mats or something down on the floor. Do you have any problems with leaving the bark on the inside posts?
We were originally going to try rubber mats......but they are SOOOO expensive it just didn't make sense. The bark on the posts works fine for maple and ironwood logs, it just dries out and falls off the maple after a year or so, but we used a few pine logs on the barn and didn't peel them....we did notice some smal saw dust like material from bugs eating at those posts. I ended up spraying them with home defense spray I use for ants and it solved the issue. Note that the posts were all burned the bottom 4 foot that went in the ground
