I LOVE THAT VIDEO!!! It has Trihex being godly (mostly ;) ), a freaking Fire Alarm, cold hands, an absolutely sublime bonus game, Auto Scroll Swag, and Carl being an extra cherry on top with a glitch% run after it. Perfect

Apparently stack speed has been changed. Bowser fire does seem to be changed as my guess is that previous bowser fire despawned after a distance where here it obviously just creates a giant wall of fire. Added fart sound effects to large bomb coming out of pipe and the springs by the flag, as we all know Carl would have put in his first level. There is one hidden pow block as an Easter Egg for Foggles. Don't forget to show this level again on your last SMM2 stream before SMM3 gets released. I'll ceremoniously delete it for you then... and obviously re-create it for SMM3.

Since it cannot decide which to go for, it dies of both hunger and thirst.

VitalAres Fairly sure they’re referring to the time. This was uploaded close to 2100 EST, so it would be around 1800 for the west coast. Larl usually uploads really late at night. Closer to 3 or 4am for me on the east coast.

That speedrun anti-softlock could be a whole level. Make a level - a kaizo, a troll, whatever, just needs to be hard - and basically "punish" every death with a different speedrun. With 2 checkpoints and on/off block stuff, you can have 4 different speedruns. If you can somehow reuse a checkpoint cleverly, you can have even more.
I feel like a lot of these trolls where it's "do thing or do not do thing" (such as 28:55) are functionally identical to pick-a-pipe. Yet they are completely differently received.
Good troll level: must make decisions that backfire in unexpected ways ("decision-backfire deaths") Bad troll level: mechanics that you cannot see coming, making you die and repeat the section ("random garbage forced deaths") pausing at 19:21 to comment because this level has some of the latter, e.g. "haha here's a random cape power-up coming from no where that you probably aren't in a position to grab"
