Iv been listening to them for years. Iv been through a prison sentence with their music in my head to get me through. It's more than a youtube video to me. They are one of those groups that really pull on your heart strings. I thought they broke up but I guess they changed they're name to watchouse. Thank you for still making good music.

What a brilliantly photogenic couple, among their many other amazing qualities individually and together. My heart sings Mandolin Orange. And the pair of them, specifically hear, then, 9 years ago, are so so very beautiful and young and (perceivably) in love, it melts my little cold heart. Look at their Golden Rosy Cheeks-I could be wrong, in hindsight it always comes out; but I dont think so and hope not, they look so in love with them selves, firstly and most importantly, then, also too, with each other, and sharing that with the world so sincerely. Thank you Mandolin Orange for sharing your treasures with us all it shines so brightly in this world.

i do think this is the best Mandolin Orange session on the 'tube. and it absolutely holds up 8-9 years later.
What I love about this performance - and there are so many things - is the restraint and sensitivity of the playing and the vocals. Together they manage to capture perfectly that feeling of waking up slowly on a sunny morning with someone you love - warm, relaxed, still slightly sleepy, but feeling that everything is okay and will always be okay. Emilee Booher's camerawork is part of this - their faces coming into and out of focus creates a visual rhythm that complements the musical one and adds to the dreamlike quality. These people have an intimate understanding of the power of music, and we need more like them. Thank you so much - I needed this.

Grew up listening to GNR. My grandpa used to sit me on his knee and play you are my sunshine and the crawdad song. This song for some reason brings me back to that moment. Wow how I miss him. Eternally grateful for the musical taste he instilled in me. This song brings me back. Thank you!

Headphones on and cruising TH-cam. Went from Beck, to Gene Watson, to Linda Ronstadt and landed on this, and happy I did.
Physical beauty mean nothing when you can feel the surreality of their music..their coordination...the rhythm of the guitar with the quiverings of mandolin..the way their voices melt just like at that point when the solidness of the glacier gives complete way to a river...and lastly the emotions of eloquence and poetry and charm and dreaminess that in invokes in us, the listeners. This song is beautiful indeed. They are beautiful indeed but not for the reasons the comment section usually mentions.

To me, this song draws feelings of solace and redemption in the one you love. I misheard the lyrics for a while thinking 'if it's all the same' was 'it's all the same' which although isn't what they wrote, always makes me think of a time when I was depressed and feeling like everything was really all the same and during that time I pushed away the one I loved. That's what the song was about to me at that time but now I know the true lyrics I will use them for inspiration in a new love, 'if it's all the same, it's enough to hold her close'. I listen to this song now and I hear - you're not perfect but you don't have to push away, remember that holding your lover close is enough.
