Not My Best Camping Experience, But Way Better Than a Good Day's Work!

  • What a start to the year! COVID-19 is well on its way, fire restrictions have been issued, and more than half the forest is closed minimizing access. I head out on a camping trip only to realize everyone else had the same intentions. It seemed like no matter where I went someone was camping there and to be honest, it felt like rush hour in the mountains.
    My preferred style of camping is to be away from people and campgrounds. This was not the case for this trip. I had people camp as close as 50ft away. This trip will go down as not my best camping experience, but still better than a good day's work.

    I enjoy your videos. I've ridden ATV's at Cloudcroft and Red River and always enjoyed my trips to NM. Just want to give you a trailering tip. Always cross your safety chains. In some states it is a requirement. From experience, I saved a trailer hitch when a trailer disconnected from my pickup by landing on the X or cross of the chains. It minimized the damage to my trailer. Keep up the good work!

      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there. I appreciate you watching and commenting on my video. I will have to make the easy change and cross my chains, thanks for the pointer. Man I bet that was a scary experience to have your trailer disconnect like that. I am glad nothing major happened to you.
      These two locations are on my radar to go and trail ride. Cloudcroft and Red River is beautiful country. Thanks again. I will begin crossing my chains now.

    Time for another installment of ManzanoMan for me this morning!
    While that trip didn't work out as you prefer, you still made much of it and was out soaking up the scenery. That view of the San Antonio canyon was mighty impressive! What a great place for a coffee or a beer depending on the time of day.
    All my very best to you Ruben, and while this is an older video, just keep them coming as we all enjoy them so much!

    Cross your chains when you hook up. If your hitch fails it will cradle the tongue and keep it from digging into the pavement.

    Great videos and rides.
    Found your channel this week as I was laid up recovering from surgery. Probably watched most of your videos 2-3 times!!
    I remember seeing your red truck around town here. Heck, I'm practically a neighbor of yours.
    I know where a lot of the places you been are, but I never rode them on my ATV. You sure have inspired me to do so.
    Keep it up, and hope to meet you soon.

      Hey there! I am hoping your recovery is going well man. I am sure you probably have seen my truck some where. I've ran into a few people who have stopped because they recognized my truck.
      There are a lot of good rides to take around the state. I hope to get out there and explore some new areas. I hope we meet someday while exploring and I encourage you to get out there and ride. Thanks for watching buddy,

    Great video Ruben. I wish it would have worked out differently for you, I know how much you were looking forward to it. However, I’m proud of you for making the best choice and keeping yourself safe. It’s unfortunate that some people just don’t abide by the restrictions the Forrest Service sets out to keep us and the dry Forrest safe. In the short time you were out there though, you captured beautiful scenery both on the ATV and in the sky. 😘

    Hi Ruben. I love this video! In fact I really like all of the ones I have watched so far. Your vids really make me want to go riding down there in New Mexico and Arizona. I especially like how friendly and positive you are. Do you really have to worry about all your stuff back at your truck when you’re out riding and camping? That kinda stinks man, bummer. Also love those drone shots buddy! Thank you so much from Minnesota.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest with you I have not know anyone to have their vehicle harassed while parking it in the outdoors. I think it is more my own paranoia because last year I had a vehicle stolen from my home.
      I am glad you enjoyed the video. I appreciate you following along and leaving me comments. Now that the desert is warming up I am heading into the mountains of New Mexico. I am always an optimistic person and look for the greater of everything I find myself in. On this trip I didn't expect to have such close neighbors, but we all worked it out. I am glad you enjoyed the drone shots. The location I took the drone footage from was at the north end of the Valle Caldera Preserve. I hope you can make it down to New Mexico. We would love to have you visit. Arizona is a beautiful state also.
      Thanks again and stay healthy and safe, take care.

I was looking for more of a quite trip to hit a good reset button of peace and quite. But I should have expected this on 1 of 3 roads opened in the area. This area is a great place to see big game animals. Thanks for watching buddy!

    I think they felt safe being close to other people out there. We have here an unwritten rule, that if you see other people when you are really far out then you doesn't camp close by.
    That view you got there, that is really amazing. I could stayed there for many days. Is that a dangerous snake you saw on trail?

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that is probably what it was they felt safer being closer to someone or maybe they wanted to share the awesome view from the cliff. I think that is a good unwritten rule to have.
      The snake I saw on the ground is actually non poisonous snake known as the bull snake. They hunt mice and other small rodents.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there! On this particular drone which is the DJI Spark, the obstacle avoidance doesn't work well, despite it having it. I have crashed this drone several times, thankfully the durability on the drone is awesome because it still works like a champ. In my more recent videos I am now using the DJI Mavic Air 2 which has great obstacle avoidance response. I hope you have a great day and weekend! Thanks for checking it out.

    Looks fun
    I have found that if your able to get farther off the dirt roads, Atv trails are better for find lonesome camping spots. Slow down and let that dog chase you for a couple miles, a coyote will than you. Camping this year seems to be crazy amount of people out there. Might need to be a Monday-Friday year, stay away from the weekends. 570 seems to be plenty for me also, different brand though.

    • @ManzanoManATVAdventures
      @ManzanoManATVAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a lot of fun! You are absolutely right about being more isolated the farther back you go. Lol, that is right! A coyote would have come in and fixed that problem real quick. The 570 is plenty power to take you through some ground. I am going to plan another trip to redeem myself on getting father into the forest. I happened to be on the busiest forest road of them all and people were everywhere. Dirt bikes, side by sides, quads, and any offroad vehicle you can think of was trail riding. I just kept the traffic out of my frames, I was hoping to share more of a nature feel than a gold rush feel lol.
      Thanks for watching.
