Ahh the Elite Cleric set. Back in the 360 days, people would say devs/play testers would play online with this, and drop the set for others to spread. Or so the legend goes.
Or you could use cheat engine... It was fully usable just like mage-smith set or whatever its called.. Oh wait there is no anticheat in remaster too...
Just a model, unfortunately. However I remember seeing a simple cheat table that would apply its look to your current gear online for PTDE. Maybe you could get one for remaster? If you do please let me know, I thought it was pretty neat.
So weird that, this being the remaster and all that, they didn´t take the chance to include everything they wanted to include in the first one but couldn´t. Both games seem to have the same unused content
Better resolution, way better particles, 60 fps, blighttown without lag, better pvp matchmaking, quality of life changes. You can clearly see the differences if you play it.
I´m a broke fan of the game xD But I did read Tomate´s input on it and I see the appeal, sucks that Fromsoft couldn´t patch it themselves but if I ever have the money I´ll be sure to check it out
That bear armor seems like it might have been used with another knight of gwyn that ended up getting cut pretty early, since the other knights have an animal motif.
Hey zullie if you can since you likely have access to it could you make a video showcasing frogray attacks? The red frogs on the path to the wolf ring have mostly unused attack animations nobody seems to know of. I say mostly unused as only the first one after the tree is capable of doing it. It needs to be in water. If in water it will swim towards the player rather than walking , and will spit the same substance as the mass of souls enemies in new londo. They also have a spit attack where they jump behind the player similar to the blue drakes in VoD. In remaster the spit only does damage but in the original the spit had the estus weakening effect as well as encumbrance and damage over time. Why they changed this I have no idea. Sorry for long text and I understand if you can't do it but I feel people would be interested in it as 99% of player I'm willing will never know. Oh and it's only the first frogray as the others leash before they can be baited to the water. I theorize they were the original enemies occupying the hydra area. As the ones that ambush you in a group jump up from the lake where the hydra is. And that would explain the random water pools in dark root basin and garden. They were likely more common enemies in the area but were replaced by the farmers and golems due to oolacile and dusk lore significance. What do you think? I have some screenshots and a video of it on ps4. I hope you see this as illusory wall I feel is uninterested or annoyed at my request. Anyways thanks for sharing your content, seeya.
I know this is 2 years ago, but why? Though Chester had a great kick, a awesome crossbow and rose daggers, wouldn't it be cool if he pulled out his own Zweihander? Plus the aesthetic of it would be wonderful for builds, like knight fashions.
He had a scrapped additional phase or state with his hat and coat off - the zweihander would have gone with that. Scrapping that was evidently a relatively late decision, since they gave it a finalized model before dropping the idea.
BandaiNamco: "Hey I have a idea, lets make usable this unused equipment, lets try to added something new for the game" "just kidding with vamos bonfire is ok, added some 20$ to the price"
Dude, you could hack into the original version of Dark Souls' files and model swap the cut content. As for why the cut stuff also got re-textured, they share many of the same textures for stuff that is normally in the game. So re-texturing the playable content also re-textured the cut stuff.
Info on of these items: Bear armour while scrapped was meant to be found in the painted world. It's not usable even in its visible state as seen here unlike the other armours. Elite cleric is a prototype that became Petrus' armour; Mage Smith is the same, becoming the black sorcery armour set. Black dagger was meant for the black Knights as a parrying tool. it would've had the same animation as the normal dagger but double damage like all the other black knight weapons. It was also meant to be good against Seath for tail cut due to its fast animation. Closest you'll get to the speed it cut off is a Golden Tracer +3. The dagger would've went to plus five. Its stats from what I've heard made it the only SL1 black knight weapon. The 4 Kings Sword is like the Jar Eel boss in it's coding stages, still in there but needs to be modded in; they're usable and function, but lacking polish. I believe the Daughters of Ash mod creator intended to add 4 Kings blade in originally but never did despite adding Jar Eel in! Anyway, 4 Kings Sword was meant to drop their soul or the weapon along with the lord soul, as all 4 were originally meant to give you something. It was changed but the tail cut and covenant gift stayed. The spell you get as thanks from Quaelana was meant to drop from BoC. This is why it was scrapped. The only way that would've made sense in its current state in my opinion was the seal keeper giving it to you as thanks for stopping them. The unused Tailsman was meant to be able to do the abyss sorcery and miracles like some catalysts in DS2. Due to the short time they had to develop the original it was scrapped. It was meant to be called something like Hallowed tailsman but due to time and not fitting in, it was scrapped. That wasn't even it's finished design either. Chester's zweihander was scrapped as he was a prototype and pre Easter-egg for Bloodborne. Its model exists but it's practically useless; scrapped due to Myazaki using Chester as a test for BB's movements and designs, seeing how players would react. He also had lore connecting to Carim originally; he still kills Dusk after you kill Manus. The dialogue hinting to this is still in the game, as he hints at Carim in his dialogue. Him killing Dusk doesn't kill Elizabeth unlike if you kill her, it's why she's not there after a boss or two after killing Manus. The stick was meant to be instead of the large club for the ogres on the way into the Blighttown shortcut. Spiky Catch Pole was meant to be for the one in either Anor Londo or Lost Izalith; had some lore connected to Kirk and Sen. Torch was scrapped for the skull torch. This changed in two onwards, as the skull torch never returned.
Mmm... Mostly good info, but I don't know how much I buy the "Chester as prototype for Bloodborne" thing considering his prototype models were in the game files from vanilla. His finalized models hint at it, perhaps.
You'd think so, but the shape doesn't quite match up, and it's not visibly hollow. More convincingly in my opinion, its model ID is treated as a club type weapon. This was definitely something you were meant to be bludgeoning people with.
The Elite Cleric and Mage Smith sets already have balanced stats and finished descriptions don’t they? Those could have easily been put in as a drop from Petrus and a set that can be bought from Rickert, respectively.
Great video. But it also makes me sad to see so many amazing armors, weapons and bosses that the remaster could've used but didn't because it's all about; "muh original dark souls experience." Dark souls really should have been remade, because even for a remaster it is quite sub-par.
"We should put some new items in the game as a special treat." " Just fix the lighting, put some physics on the grass, and some other shit and call it a day." "Are you sure?" *Y O U ' R E D A M N R I G H T I A M*
If someone is interested the iconId of the Four Kings Sword is 165 (not the equipModelId that is 273) And the iconId of the unused talisman is 112 (equipModelId 906)
Because QLOC don't seem to have been given access to all of Fromsoft's DS1 resources, and thus would have had their hands full just with the main work of the remaster. Figuring out how to finalize assorted unused gear (hell, the Bear Armor is just the model) and where to put it in would not have been a high priority under those circumstances.
