Well that's interesting that you wanted Tina Turner to play Storm, cause I wanted the woman who played her in the biopic movie to play Storm. Angela Bassett was always my choice to play Storm. Don't know how that didn't work out, but it should have happened. Always enjoy your videos Calvin.
Angela was approached by Fox for the role, but she turned it down. If I remember correctly, she didn't like the script, and I don't blame her. They didn't do Storm justice in any of those films.
P.S. I'm so happy you're a fan of the OG costume! It seems like there aren't enough of us collectors who don't Storm in her 90s costume. I love Storm as a character and I will buy good sculpts of her in any scale made of any material, but she has to be in one of her black costumes. Companies who do that will get my money for sure!

For this piece, I will be getting her (you seemed to have gotten a great one without too many scratches or paint chips) but I'm still waiting to see if I can find her at a price better than retail. We'll see how the next few months of hunting goes.

I seen that Storm and I think this is one of the best Gallery pieces they've done. My issue with Diamond Select is the scale. They might look nice together they don't really scale well. The Premier line is not even 1/6 like they claim to be and the Gallery are even smaller. They are all smaller than Bowen and Koto. If there scale was better I would've buy a lot more of this pieces.
I would have to agree. Marvel gallery line has made some really nice pieces but they tend to be inconsistent in the scaling. I also don't like the cheapness of hollow pvc, opposed to resin or cold cast porcelain. For the money I would have to go with Bowen designs, though from my experience it's difficult finding a good second-hand piece at a decent price. I've had my eye on the Bowen full size classic Storm statue for a while now and they're listed on eBay at $400 and up. I still plan on getting one someday.

IKR? This sculptor is an amazing artist. I try to remember why I love collecting in the First place. It’s to stay connected to those things that brought me joy in my youth. Yep teena turned in mad max is storm . Halle berry is nothing like storm , even the hair is not right , the personality is not right . Worst cast job ever

Very good point, the pait and qc is the issue I have with diamond select, but i do believe that has gotten much better over the years.

I've been collecting firca while, so indefinitely remember Bowen back in the day. Some amazing pieces came out of that studio. 👌🏾
