Oh my goodness. Thank u for sharing! I see a lot of people unbox the Hibino, but I have a hard time finding video on how people actually use it. I just ordered mine yesterday in blue. Excited to have something pre-set up. Last year all year, I set up my own planner each month. Although it was fun, when I couldn’t find time it was so frustrating and I felt this unnecessary stress. I found myself moody even.

@rachplans and I’m selling one of mine….possibly both not sure if it won’t be too small for me even though it’s larger than a typical a6. I think I’m just an a5 gal.
Such a detailed and informative flip through! I found the Hibino later this year after already ordering and receiving my 2024 lineup planners/notebook, but I really want to use this one for 2025 now. An all-in-one single book sounds like a dream. I can make my writing small so that would suit me. Thanks so much for sharing!

I love this planner however I can't afford it right now and I do have a bullet journal system that I love . I see a lot of people look for ways to use this so just wanted to share few over here :
1. as a daily planer
a. one page for work , one for personal - or if you have two businesses each page can be dedicated to one
b. jouranlling on one side and planning on the other
c. combine two types of planning - one page for tasks and scheduling , other page for wellness,health , meals , mood
2. as a journal
a. just long form
b. write on one side and doodle on the other side
c. keep track of memories of your child/spouse/pet - each page can be dedicated to one family member - ex your first childs memories of the day on one page same for the other child on second page
d. caligraphy practice / scripting
e. baby journal / pregnancy journal - how you're feeling , health updates , info you learn from baby books , etc.
f. relationship / love letter book with a partner - each day you fill one page with any notes , quotes whatever and your partner does the same on the other page - like back and forth loveletters
g. divide it and make it a 4, 5 or 10 year diary
h. prompt diary - write on one or two prompts each day
3. as a modified notebook / not necessarily following the dates
a. faith planner - a verse on one side and it's commentary or sermon notes on the other
b. long term collections
c. commonplace journal

Your welcome! Yes, it was a surprise to me too since I also use the same inkpad and pens on my Hobonichi & didn’t encounter that.
I bought one but decided to sell it because as much as I love the look and the paper, I’m not sure I could write that small. I switched to Hobonichi Hon.

You can also stop the edges of the bookmarks from fraying if you paint them with (transparent) nail polish and let it dry.

I was going to suggest this as well, works for me everytime
I ordered this one on a whim yesterday when I couldn’t find a b6 ciak planner that I used to use for work. After two years of a5 size I wanted to go smaller again but had no luck finding it. This one caught my eye because of the colour and I really like the idea of having two pages per day and just use one diary for everything. It’s going to make my life easier for sure. Really excited now, thanks for sharing! ❤

For stopping the ribbons from fraying you can use clear nail polish on the bottom part of each one! Works every time with the ribbons in the hobonichi weeks ! It's the first thing I do when I get a new one 😂

I saw this in a store and I had to skip it cuz I can’t write that small. I try and I just get irritated but it was a cute book
I tried to write to occupy 2 boxes but it just switches back to my small handwriting 😅

You are the 1st person Ive seen use stamps instead of billions of stickers.... And the spreads look beautifully subtle l. I love them. I dont aee whay you mean by reaction? New subbie
Thank you! What I mean about the reaction is that when using the shachihata inkpad, it reacts to fountain pen inks after a few months; its not immediate and the same thing happens for ballpoint pens. I use a Hobonichi using the same inkpad and pens and didn’t encounter this, that’s why I was surprised of seeing it. If you’re using gel pens, there’s no issue.

I got it from Amazon Japan. Its a Mizutama custom sticks, you can just search “Mizutama ZUPG-8 Daily Basin”.
Loved watching this! I don't "need" another journal, but I can't resist Midori or really fat notebooks. Do you feel like this paper is the same weight and feel of the Midori MD notebooks? Thanks!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. The paper for Midori Hibino is tomoe river paper 52gsm (for 2025, it’ll be the tomoe river sanzen) vs the Midori at 80gsm. Because the Hibino is 2 page per day vs Midori’s 1day1page, Hibino is slightly heavier in overall weight. Based from Midori’s website, the Hibino weighs 324g while Midori is 296g. You can go with either as both lay flat & are excellent notebooks.
@@bootsandberry oh! Thanks so much for the info! I wondered why the paper looked thinner. I recently got the 2025 Hobonichi 5 year journal, it has about the same number of pages as the hibino, so maybe that will keep me from buying another journal 😂 I’m glad I asked you! (.although the hibino will still be on a list for later now haha)
(I meant that I bought the 2024 5 year Hobonichi.. but that’s the new sanzen paper). So maybe if the hibino 2024 has the old tomoe, I may still have to buy it actually hahah)
@@pinklavenderlove the Midori Hibino 2023 uses the old tomoe river paper while the 2024 onwards is already the Sanzen one.
@@bootsandberry I’m so glad I checked here ! I almost just bought a 2024 and thought, wait, maybe they quit using it earlier than that and cancelled my order 😂 So now on the hunt for a 2023 🤪
I wish they would make this in a more compact version. Because it’s so big and thick. And the print is so small. I saw it on Amazon. Also it is pricey. Looks really nice though.
It’s a 2 page per day hence the thickness. If you follow them on Instagram, there’s like a day-free version that they’re currently testing in Japan only this December (grey color cover). Hopefully that’ll be a success so they make it available globally.
@@bootsandberry I would definitely be interested in this because I actually like the midori paper better than tomoe river because it is a little heavier. I hope they make the month boxes bigger and have all graph paper instead of all the blank space. I did try to find a post on instagram but was unable to locate a post on a midori day free. Thanks I’m crossing my fingers that this is successful.
Thanks for the video! Are you using a fountain pen in your Hibino? I ordered one from Atlas Stationary but I don't want it if there is bleed through; I want to use my fountain pens. Are you using FP's in yours?
Yes I am. There’s no bleed through. Used fountain pens, ballpoint, rollerball, frixion and pencils and all are ok. The only issue is if you’re also going to use a shachihata inkpad for rubber stamps due to the reaction that’s explained on the video.
