OH Angelina. You are feeling the same as 15,000 other students who will be doing the exam with you tomorrow. I am so glad you found it useful, good luck for tomorrow! I will be continuing to share advice and tips so regardless of the outcome, I am sure you will do amazing in school.
I thought that reading and thinking skills was easy but maths was hard for me. Writing was okay. The thing is, maths is my best subject and I found it hard
Hello Frosting Time, Now I am just curious to know who you are now! If you are feeling quite nervous, you will most likely also feel nervous tomorrow. One of the things you can do to help calm yourself down is to stretch your body to its very limits (point your arms, fingers, legs, toes in front of you in a seated position). That will help you feel renewed so that you can shake those worried away. On top of that, tell yourself that you are not alone in feeling this way. It is a big exam, and thousands of students are also doing the test. Your family, friends and I will still support you no matter what happens! Best of luck you got this :)

Hi Shelley, Thank you for being so honest, many other children your age are unfortunately in the exact same situation. Oftentimes we place such a huge responsibility on ourselves to succeed and sometimes this can be even worse especially when it involves our family and friends. I would think about that later on and after the exam, have a conversation with your parents to let them know that you are extremely unhappy and worried about the results. If they react negatively, please feel free to reach out to me. I am happy to talk to them and let them know that there are alternative ways of teaching and can help you communicate your fears if this is the issue. - John
@@BingsAcademy hello, the test was alright actually, l didn’t think math was that easy but l found reading and thinking skills easy. Writing was fun, Thanks!
there is less than 1 day left until the exam please can you give me some words of encouragement i can reflect on, and tips to not get stressed during the exam.
Hi Radhakrishna, What you are feeling right now and what you are going to feel on the day is completely normal. I don't think you need words of encouragement from me but if I had to share one thing, just know that your family and close friends will love and support you regardless of the outcome. So do your best and have no regrets! If you find yourself feeling really stressed because of a question during the exam, take a deep breath and skip it. Come back to it later, time management is going to be a really important factor. - John
To be honest it is too late to do practice tests. No matter what result you get from that exam, it will only put more pressure on you and you won't have enough time to completely change the way you are studying. What I suggest is to go over the format of the exam so that you know what to expect. For a writing task like a narrative, go over what the format is, same with persuasive, advice sheet etc. Then mentally tell yourself what you need to do for reading, maths etc! It is very different compared to previous exams. There will not be any time warnings in the exam too so make sure you are looking at the clock every so often! Good luck Shelley - I am cheering for you :)
Hi Neo, Just know that you are not alone in feeling that way! You have done the practice and all you can do next is to try your best. If that is not working, you can stretch out your arms and legs to the limit and focus back to the exam. This will help your body 'reset' and allow you to have more energy. If you play piano judging from your name, you must be quite smart so good luck!
Hi Tam, True and also not true. The actual test will have more questions than that. Let's say Maths is out of 35 and you get 30/35. That would not actually be worth '30' & you will not see '30' on your result card. The weighting of Maths component will have a maximum score of 25 but your mark will be adjusted using scaling and moderation (compared to how other students went) so you can end up with a maths score of something around 18-22/25. All the exams on the day will be worth a score of a 100. However, the total calculated placement score will be 120 being the highest (20 of that being your school mark). Hope that helps clarify some questions!
Hi Jace, I have written this in an earlier comment. For thinking skills, reading and maths, have a look at the clock every 5 questions you complete. This will let you know if you need to go a bit quicker or you can take a bit more time on certain questions. For writing, make sure to plan before you write.
Hi Jack, All the exams combined will be 2 and a half hours. For maths, the questions will get harder as the test progresses so keep an eye on the increasing difficulty. Also there will be more multi-step math questions that will appear too!
