Just getting started with watercolor although I've taken 4 courses in Chinese brush painting. Hey mike luv your work. Amazing talent and I’m picking up a bunch of little tips as I watch you paint. Question. I notice many times you wipe your brush right after you load it with paint and other times as well. Are you just shaping the point of brush or taking out some pigment and water? Thanks much. Thinking of ordering your palette and plen air easel in next few days. Anthony

The aim is to take out some water out, especially when working with dry brush/lifting/washout techniques. I do so with paper towels. Great observation, Anthony!

Beautiful work, I love your commentary, much prefer it to the music as we all have different tastes in music. Your sketchbook looks gorgeous - especially as you are using Arches paper, the price in Canada and America is probably reasonably priced but unfortunately the exchange rate of the Australian dollar to USD & Canadian Dollar is absolutely dismal making the book and postage expensive beyond belief....

Hi, Erika, the thing is, I make thousands of photos during my trips. After making a watercolor, I erase the reference photo immediately, so I don't mistakenly draw it again. So, unfortunately, this photo is long gone. Sorry about that!
