What an absolutely gorgeous home! I really hope it is fixed up and used before it’s too late! It is so refreshing to see an abandoned property where everything hasn’t been left behind and heaps of clothes piled in the middle of each room, no vandalism, no graffiti, no walls stripped of the copper wiring, and no water damage! Thank you so much for this tour!
Hey Kristine, yes luckily away from the cities homes get like this get to escape a lot of those senseless vandals and sit quietly and forgotten....It is a shame this home is not continuing to entertain people and have ahappy family in it. Glad you enjoyed the tour, cheers for watching :-)
Hahaha looks like we got a few people wanting to move in here Shelley! :-) May have to build an add on at the back! hehe. Glad you liked, thanks for watching :-)
Only 4 or 5 minutes into your video and I'm thinking, " I soooo want this house!". There is so much to love about this 50's home, from the huge living area with its floor to ceiling windows and double doors overlooking the large porch and the views beyond, the beautiful polished hardwood floors throughout and the spacious kitchen with serveries, to the inbuilt bookcase along the hallway. It really wouldn't take much for someone to restore this beautifully designed home. As for being a venue, the only thing that came to mind was, it could have been used as an occasional dance studio to learn either ballroom or square dancing, but after reading other people's comments, it appears 'modern contemporary' design of the day makes sense. Yet another great explore mate, i can't wait for the next one!
Hey Chris so glad you love this house, it is amazing and I really am loving the fact that the 50`s homes were all about entertaining with large opened living areas. Very sociable and happy era! I could picture many happy gathering and parties including dancing going on in here. :-) As you say it would not take much to get it back up and going for living and entertaining again, lets hope someone sees the potential! Thanks for watching :-)
This place is great. I like the view too. One could still make something realy beautiful out of this building before it's too late. And those floors are breathtaking. Thank you for sharing this.
Totally agree Ellice, much more living and parties to had in this one if someone gives it some love! Very much out in the country so not easily sold. Thanks for watching :-)
Dam shame and a dam mystery why this one aint rockin a family or Saturday night dance Shannon! :-) One thing could be as it is a 50`s home there may be asbestos in the ceiling and roof ! Not sure, thanks for watching :-0

Your love for old home is why I wanted to share one of my favorite poems with you: Whenever I walk to Suffern along the Erie track I go by a poor old farmhouse with its shingles broken and black. I suppose I've passed it a hundred times, but I always stop for a minute And look at the house, the tragic house, the house with nobody in it. I never have seen a haunted house, but I hear there are such things; That they hold the talk of spirits, their mirth and sorrowings. I know this house isn't haunted, and I wish it were, I do; For it wouldn't be so lonely if it had a ghost or two. This house on the road to Suffern needs a dozen panes of glass, And somebody ought to weed the walk and take a scythe to the grass. It needs new paint and shingles, and the vines should be trimmed and tied; But what it needs the most of all is some people living inside. If I had a lot of money and all my debts were paid I'd put a gang of men to work with brush and saw and spade. I'd buy that place and fix it up the way it used to be And I'd find some people who wanted a home and give it to them free. Now, a new house standing empty, with staring window and door, Looks idle, perhaps, and foolish, like a hat on its block in the store. But there's nothing mournful about it; it cannot be sad and lone For the lack of something within it that it has never known. But a house that has done what a house should do, a house that has sheltered life, That has put its loving wooden arms around a man and his wife, A house that has echoed a baby's laugh and held up his stumbling feet, Is the saddest sight, when it's left alone, that ever your eyes could meet. So whenever I go to Suffern along the Erie track I never go by the empty house without stopping and looking back, Yet it hurts me to look at the crumbling roof and the shutters fallen apart, For I can't help thinking the poor old house is a house with a broken heart. by Joyce Kilmer
Wow!!!!!! Missouri Red that poem sums up everything for you guys watching and enjoying and us who go out and film these places. There is indeed and intrigue of the lonely state of these houses and what was once a living and breathing home both structure and family inside.......:-0 Thanks so much for your support and thank you for posting this poem, I have copied and pasted it on my Computer! :-)
Is that a lakeview I see? If so, what an awesome property this is. If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say this was a country summer home, possibly owned by a commercial contractor, judging by the 'industrial' looking patio off the 'ballroom'. If that room could talk, it probably would tell of lots of summer soirees!
It sure is a lake view John, there are a few lakes along this country road. I does have that getaway type venue feel, the dance floor would have been the rockin rollin epicenter on a Saturday nights in the summer!!! And winter probably haha. Yes many stories indeed mate haha :-)
It certainly does not need much to be ready for more living :-) I want to live there, such a great spot. Crank up the dance floor too! haha thanks for watching :-)
What an incredible masterpiece! The music you have picked for this piece, really captured the ambiance and the beauty of this place and opened up the imagination to see it in it's former glory! Thanks for the adventure Indigo! I am truly grateful!
Hi Fatiha! :-) I am really glad you enjoyed this one, I really did feel the rock n roll song fit that nice dance floor too! A fun and happy house from a happy era of socializing and entertaining. Cheers for watching :-)
I would have that place in a heartbeat...I am surprised squatters haven’t found it, so many people homeless and beautiful places like this to rot....perfect surroundings, would love it.....keep finding these amazing places xxx
I also would totally live here Jacqueline! :-) Out in the country it is harder for squatters to find these homes like the ones in the cities luckily. I hope someone can see this potential and get it up going again! Thanks for watching :-)
Great find 👍 those wooden floors are to die for . I always wonder what happens with these properties if no one ever claims to own them ? Does the home and land just sit there forever and rot ? I’ll never understand how you find these places Lol
Great question Katrina and one reason is some of these older homes have asbestos in the roof and ceiling. The farmers who own them or were renting them out may not the the value in getting the expensive removal process done........and thus they sit....... More strict rules these days for upkeep and maintenance for landlords renting out homes.
I think I'd have to agree with your 50's theory along with it being some sort of community gathering place for special events. It's still quite pretty on the inside. Those floors are gorgeous. Looks like a lot of great fun could have been had there. Nice find on a "drive by"! Lucky us! Thank for the share! xo
Sure was lucky, I had to double back for a second and third look to gauge it better Steph. And from first glance it even gave of a hall type vide from the verandah. Lots of fun indeed would have taken place here i think over the years! :-) Hopefully someone see the potential in saving it :-)
Wow!!! Very deceiving... it is much larger and much nicer than I would have ever expected from the outside views! Great find and what a nice surprise to have another exploration this week! Love it!! So enjoy them... thank you so much! Now to quote you .... Cheers! Have a good week!
And cheers to you Phyllis ! :-) Yes the outside does not do the inside justice! :-) Imagine the cool parties that went on here over the decades. I would love this place in the location, hope someone gets it up ans running again. Thanks for watching Phyllis :-)
WOW!!! This home/venue is amazing. All it needs is a good cleaning and glue the wallpaper back in place. I was actually thinking about where to place the furniture. I would snatch this place up quick. I love how you imposed the dancing and music over the video. Once again, you created a wonderful video presentation! 👍👍👍
Hey lea as soon as I saw that dance floor I was imagining people just enjoying themselves dancing and though I have to incorporate that in the video somewhere! :-) This place is definitely worth a another shot and I wish that I could buy it too Lea. You could place the furniture any old way you like in there. Thanks for watching :-)
Just watched the duel 50’s house. Wow, those are some glossy floors!!!! Wish I was old enough to see the dances there.😮 it’s amazing. Great job urbex indigo!!!! 👍🏼
This place was really looked after up till its last use! The floors are immaculate :-) Dances and entertaining would have been fun times indeed! Thankd for watching , glad you like! :-)
Hey Rosa, thanks for watching. Yes it would be a shame for such a home in such a spot to just fall further and further into ruin. It is in great condition. Thanks for watching Rosa :-)
Just looks like they had all the mod cons and liked to entertain on the veranda hence the little hatch from the kitchen to get food outside without having to go through the house. Serving hatches were a new popular feature for the modern housekeeper. See you the next one.
Your right mate, it does seem that the 50`s were all about entertaining and gatherings. great period to live in I bet. Hopefully someone gets this up and running again or living in it. Thanks for watching Mike :-)
OMG I love this home of the wallpaper the fireplace the kitchen the flooring is all beautiful I wish I could move in there it's out in the country where it's quiet and beautiful the trees it'd be wonderful thank you so much for showing it it's a shame that window is broken at least there's no graffiti
There is also a lake across the road through the trees! It really is an amazing spot. I would have loved to see the parties in full swing back when it was in use! :-) Thanks for watching and I would also live here in a heart beat :-)
Love your intro! I have the same cabinet knobs that were in the master bedroom. My house is from the fifties so I think you are right. Very lovely find thank for for stopping and filming.🌺🌺🌺
Hi dogsrule53, thanks for watching. Glad you have a 50`s house, i`m really getting to like the focus of the large entertaining areas the 50`s had a focus on, very happy sociable times! :-0 Glad you enjoyed thanks for watching
I LOVE this house. All the windows make it so nice, especially the kitchen and den/living room. Great views of outdoors. I would live there in a minute. Thank you so much for sharing. I hope you don't go to these locations alone.
This house could be so easily lived in with only a good cleaning! Shame it is sitting in limbo. Great location and scenery as you said. Yep I go alone :-) I just get my stuff and head off in the car. :-)
The floor in that room is definitely designed for a lot of people dancing as it has the narrow boarding in comparison to the rest of the homes wider boarding. You would indeed love it Linda, cheers :-)
I would take that place for the FLOORS! I would not allow anyone to walk on it with street shoes. Size of that kitchen is a DREAM!! And that bathroom...woo~~~hoo! Late 40s~mid 50s. LOVE the huge yard, too. That place is truly repairing & I would live in it. Totally livable. If I were an Aussie.
Lots to like about this one N L. The floors were immaculate, could just picture a rowdy lot dancing away on a Saturday night haha :-) Thanks for watching :-)
Those floors! Beautiful. All they need is a good sweep and mop. As you enter the main room I envisaged a beautiful lounge until you spotted the fire extinguishers. I think you’re absolutely right about it being a home turned it a venue. It really was a surprise after seeing the outside. 💋 xx
That main room flooring was definitely for dancing as it was the very narrow boards like a basketball court. The rest of the home had wider boarding. :-) It definitely was nicer inside than exterior suggested :-0 Thanks for watching :-)
It is a shame to see the floors seeing no action of family or dancing Michele. Another viewer made a great comment that it may be due to the home having asbestos in the roofing and indeed I have seen other nice homes of the 50`s and early 60`s sit abandoned and demolsihed for this exact reason. Shame if it is true.....cost of removing may be too much for the farmer who owns the land.....Thanks for watching :-0
Wood floors look in good shape. Very shiny. I also think mid century modern. The large room with windows has a lovely view. Pretty flowers out front. Has potential! Nice built in storage
Very lovely place! It does appear to be a gathering place for folks! The floor in that room definitely could be a dance floor! The bathroom colors seem commercial! What a great place! Thanks for the videos! I think I missed one...My son and his girlfriend and my granddog..an Aussie Sheperd have been here for a visit! It's a no-no for me to be on my phone constantly Lol!👍🙋🕊️🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Hahahaha so you were in Australia visiting? Lol yes Aussies do find the constant phone in hand a point for making jokes! haha :-) Studies are showing people postures are changing since the invent of iphones lol Anyway glad you enjoyed this home, I could live hear for sure. I`m certain this place was party central at one time! :-)
Cheers man! I`m glad my viewers like seeing the styles of the homes too as sometimes like this one it is completely empty of furniture and personal belongings. I like anything abandoned and just love filming them. :-) Empty ones I have to try make interesting with edits haha :-)
Beautiful location, too fancy to just be a home. Expensive floors and details shouts a rich owner or owners. Very clean kitchen and rooms. This doesn't have the feel or look of a family home. It must have been used as a venue. With the big beautiful dance floor room with the lovely Windows. Still a lovely building ,it has such charm in each room. Its a shame thus wonderful place isn't being lived in and enjoyed by a wealthy family. Maybe somewhere a person will fall in love with it. Fill it with the sounds if a happy family. Great explore, an amazing find. You are right not just a common home. Beautiful yard and building.
Hey Janet! :-) I would hate to see this place fall into bad shape. So much still to give. Perhaps there is asbestos in the ceilings and roof being a 50`s home......I agree a wealthy owner built this with the focus on being an entertaining hub. Wish I could have seen the parties going on here back in the day! And I also hope some comes along and puts some love back into it. Thanks for watching :-)
It's pretty clean for being empty for so long. There are still pretty flowers around the place wonder if someone takes care of the grounds. Nice find once again Indigo. Thank you
Yes those flowers have kind of sprung up compared to the photo from 2010. Grass gets cut as the local farmers and shires have to do that on properties along roads leading into summer to prevent fires spreading. Hopefully someone can get this beauty back rockin and rollin Jo :-)
It sure has not seen its last days Hiltop Farm and i hope someone comes along and has the money and interest to get it up again! Thanks for watching :-)
Hi country girl :-) Thanks for watching, beautiful home indeed and i`d love to live here! That rock n roll song I kept listening to, such a foot tapper! :-)
This is a "mid century modern" home from the late 1950s to early 1960s. You should look at some of these homes online. They were amazing. And the focus was on entertaining guests. This home was built for entertaining which is why you think it's a venue. The large living room with the fireplace and the wall of windows. Look up a Joseph Eichler designed home. You'll see the similarities. The pass-thru into the living room was normal but I noticed they added an extra pass-thru from the kitchen to the porch area to serve drinks on warm evenings. Absolutely amazing! This was an "eat-in" living room or dining'living combo. This house is an absolute gorgeous example of mid twentieth century decadence. I pray this house doesn't get torn down!! Is there a place you can phone that can give you owners information? In California, USA, we can call the county assessors office and they can give you the owners names and you can get a good history on it. YOu probably have the same but I wouldn't know what it's called. Just the place where they keep property tax records. And someone needs to get out and board up that window before those gorgeous floors go to rot!
Wow FaknkiesFancy thanks for this info, I will indeed look this up as I am becoming intrigued with how the 50`s was all about entertaining and i`v seen it in the other 50`s homes, very large joined dining and living rooms! :-) This place would have been so good to rock up to on a Saturday night and mingle on the porch and then have a dance and chin wag! So cool to think of. Hopefully someone gets this place back to that point one day. I will definitely try to get some more info on it, the address is not available which means its not active as a residence. Thanks for watching :-0
We sure do rickster348, shame that they are sitting vacant. Well at least I get to explore them lol But not good they go to waste..Thanks for watching :-)
It is very much ready and in condition for a move in right away, good sweep and clean, all the taps are still there too! Cheers for watching Stephanie :-)
Beautiful mid-century home. My house is also from that era, built in 1954, and the pass through from the kitchen, the wonderful built ins and the hardwood floors are all classic of the era. Looks like someone did a partial update of the kitchen at some point, as wooden cabinets would usually have clear finish rather than paint and the knobs would likely have matched those big round metal ones elsewhere in the house. The huge living room is also the dining room as evidenced by the kitchen pass through and also often done in mid-century houses. My living room is probably about the same size as this one, about 18'X24', and then there is a wide archway to the dining room with a pass through from the kitchen and a doorway to the back screened in porch. So, as several others have said, houses of this era were set up for entertaining but not usually completely "open concept" like the fashion of today. After all, who wants to see my messy kitchen while we're having Christmas dinner!
Wow Rebecca, I`m really getting into the 50`s home and the focus on social interaction and entertaining. I have noticed in the other 50`s homes iv found that they too have large opened up and joining living and dining areas! So good! :-) Your home sound amazing too Rebecca, glad you like this one, a shame it is not up and living at the moment :-)
Private home built in the 50s or 60s. The large great room is a combination living room dining room which would have been common in a modern home of the era. The pass-through would be to the dining area for the family to make clearing the table and serving the meal easier. It's a beautiful home with amazing floors. I sure hope somebody fixes it up before it's too far gone
Hey John thanks for that info! :-) Just getting through the comments now and others have stated as you have, these homes of that era were big on entertaining and the pass through was all part of that style.! So cool to think that the theme and motive was to entertain! A lost art these days it seems! Thanks for you input and watching John. Cheers :-) I do hope someone buys it or does it up.
A beautiful house I hope it gets saved and doesn't set too long. It would make a great house to entertain in. A big living room n dining room..I can see it with a fire in the fireplace. Great job Love the music too thanks
Hey Christine I will do an update on this if I do find some info even if I have to stop in at the next house and ask, but wont be back that way for a month or more. Could not find anything on line as the address or lot is not available and not active. Cheers :-)
Hey Grace! I would have probably driven past this house years ago before I was out looking for locations to explore as it is near where I grew up. Thanks for watching , glad you enjoyed :-)
Now you outdid yourself on this one. Beautiful flooring I love that home. It does look like a venue and it's a shame it is going to go to waste. It's not as pretty though as my log cabin that you had a while back that I loved. As always I love your videos keep them coming
Hey Anita, so glad you enjoy this one too! Very much a shame it is sitting like this. One reason maybe because its 50`s built there could be asbestos in the ceilings? Thanks for your support Anita, speak soon! :-)
I noticed an outside pass thru from kitchen to the front porch. Could be just a grand home for the time. Nice features and beautiful well kept wood floors.
I really found this one interesting and the idea that they had such entertaining purposes in mind is great to think about. Must have been quite the gathering spot Nancy ! :-)
It doesn't have to. If these "explorers" would share at least the city where it's located someone could go to the courthouse and find it's legal owners and offer to buy. By not doing that it is the "explorers" who doom it to death under the false pretense of "saving" it. Just because it's empty doesn't mean it's abandoned. Without owner's approval it's criminal trespassing.
Being way out in the country, people are are little more respectful and away from city gangs too. Not to say the country towns do not have the idiots! haha. Probably was I a state of repair or something and has been left open at the rear. Seems to be a non active address and lot too as there is none availavle. Thanks for watching Patricia :-)
Because it is way out in the country I doubt it will get demolished Lisa thankfully but it may sit like this for a long time until hopefully someone see the potential of giving it another go. :-) I certainly would live here! hehe thanks for watching :-)
Thanks for this video Urbex Indigo about this video Abandoned -Dual purpose 50's home was this also a rural function center ? I do think this place was dated back in the 1950's it shore looks like it. and I really enjoyed this video and I can't wait to see your next video and God Bless my friend and thanks again.
Glad you enjoyed this one too! It is 50`s or early 60`s but I feel 50`s. Shame no one is making good use of it, it is in great condition still. cheers for watching :-)
I think maybe a clubroom for water sports as I think I see a lake in the distance, with a residence attached for a caretaker.. Keep up the great work 💙
Yes your right Sue there is a large lake across the road :-) Very much could be that type of set up. Maybe when built there were lots of fishing and boating events. The large hall part is definitely fitted out for dancing with the strong narrow boarding like a basketball court. :-) Thanks for watching
This was an interesting house, it certainly has that 50s feel to it. The floor are amazing, both the board and the tiles. Everything is large and well appointed, so it was either built to host parties, or with the intention of being a social centre. As a home, the big room would have been divided into a dining room at the kitchen end, and a living room at the fireplace end...so it may well have been built as a family home. House parties were much more common in the 50s, so a large room serving two purposes enabled a large social space by moving a bit of furniture. The kitchen is very functionally laid out and has a good size to it as well. It is unfortunate about that window though, as the condition won’t stay this good for long now. Thanks for sharing this with us. 🖤🇨🇦
Hi Tamarra! :-) Maybe the family kept it a snug home and living area through the winter and really opened it up with the verandah and dance floor in the summer months for entartaining! Those serving hutches would have been in full swing with the cook and help getting the guests fed and boozed up hahaha :-) May have been a senior citz meeting place for cards and bingo in its last years?
Urbex Indigo I like the sound of the first idea best here, great parties in the warmer seasons. It is a grand space however they put it to use though.🖤🇨🇦
There is ...or was a place on Fort Ord in California that reminds me of the place you just showed us. A fairly bigger building made way back & was used as a Soldier's club the last I knew. BEAUITFUL floors like in your video here, like glass. Last time I was there they were useing the place for a Social Center & allowed roller staking in a huge room. When you went in the what was the back with a back yard when I was there was just a bit of an outside patio with a stone wall for a railing. When you looked over the railing you just saw the ocean crashing into the side of the mountain. I'd found out by an old timer that when the building was 1st built that there was alot more land in back & they would have cook outs & fun things. Over the years the constant waves changed the landscape to where there is no more back yard. Yup! Just a matter of time before the beauitful welbuilt building falls into the ocean. One day I hope to go back & see if it's still there. I wonder if Fort Ord would show up on a web site? You show us so many gems just thought it would be nice to share with you & buds here Paul.
Yep sounds like the place you describe fits this one too Ruth. I can see this place having a multiple of gatherings for various things over the years. But I really like imagining a rock n roll dance like I tried to add to the dance floor haha! :-)
@@urbexindigo5164 Go DJ Paul ! Ya never know...they may just have had dances there. Clever dude...looked cool seeing the dancers & then they just dissapear .... Can you picture that you walk into a place like this one & are briefly seen a piece of that buildings history. (Remember the story 'Our Town?' Where the young girl gets to 're-live' a day of her life, but no one see's 'her' or hears her) I found out that sadly Stilwell Hall his been torn down & destoryed. It was buildt from money soldiers gave, grants and Bing Crosby & Bob Hope helped raise $ for it, over a million dollars. They place was still very sturdy & in great shape. But thanks to the Obama administration and selling out Ft. Ord and other Forts leaves America more unsafe. That's life.
Hey Kristine, yes luckily away from the cities homes get like this get to escape a lot of those senseless vandals and sit quietly and forgotten....It is a shame this home is not continuing to entertain people and have ahappy family in it. Glad you enjoyed the tour, cheers for watching :-)
I agree. '50's style & yes a dance floor came immediately to mind. Great find! Thanks...💜🙋♀️🇺🇲
I LOVE this house. I'd say late 50's. I would move into this amazing place in a heartbeat!!!
Hahaha looks like we got a few people wanting to move in here Shelley! :-) May have to build an add on at the back! hehe. Glad you liked, thanks for watching :-)
This place is so much prettier on the inside than I expected it to be! Those floors are gorgeous
I agree Lex, bit plain and square looking from front but that verandah and living/entertaining area makes up for it haha. Cheers for watching :-)
This place is great. I like the view too. One could still make something realy beautiful out of this building before it's too late. And those floors are breathtaking. Thank you for sharing this.
Totally agree Ellice, much more living and parties to had in this one if someone gives it some love! Very much out in the country so not easily sold. Thanks for watching :-)
i have feel in love with this home i would take this place in a heart beat
Me too Valire!!! I give you permission to go and live there ! Such a nice spot too! :-)
HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why isn't some one living there!!! I would! Love all the windows in the livingroom. Just gorgeous.
Dam shame and a dam mystery why this one aint rockin a family or Saturday night dance Shannon! :-) One thing could be as it is a 50`s home there may be asbestos in the ceiling and roof ! Not sure, thanks for watching :-0
LOVE ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC LOL...
I'M IMPRESSED WITH THE WAY YOU EDIT YOUR VIDEOS INDIGO AND I THINK AT ONE TIME THAT PLACE WAS RENTED OUT AS RECREATION FOR PARTY'S WEDDINGS ETC....
SELLING POINT FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN BUYING IS THE WIDE OPEN SPACE AND WALLED STORAGE CLOSETS.
THE LIVING ROOM WAS WELL DESIGNED WITH PLENTY OF FOCUS ON SPACE.
YOUR RIGHT EARLY 1950'S AND STILL IN AMAZING CONDITION.
LONG LIVE ROCK AND ROLL LOL....MEEOWS ۩
Hey GOTHIC CHILD cheers for your support, glad you like the videos , I agree that this defo could hold a variety of functions and keep the charm of being a large well equipped home! Such an amazing quiet spot too! I would live here for sure! Thanks for watching :-)
Wow nice floors , must be a dance hall . It is just sad , such beautiful house and abandoned. Nice location. Thanks for the viewing.
My pleasure for showing Gloria, glad you enjoyed. Shame it is not entertaining anymore people. Thanks for watching :-)
Your love for old home is why I wanted to share one of my favorite poems with you:
Whenever I walk to Suffern along the Erie track
I go by a poor old farmhouse with its shingles broken and black.
I suppose I've passed it a hundred times, but I always stop for a minute
And look at the house, the tragic house, the house with nobody in it.
I never have seen a haunted house, but I hear there are such things;
That they hold the talk of spirits, their mirth and sorrowings.
I know this house isn't haunted, and I wish it were, I do;
For it wouldn't be so lonely if it had a ghost or two.
This house on the road to Suffern needs a dozen panes of glass,
And somebody ought to weed the walk and take a scythe to the grass.
It needs new paint and shingles, and the vines should be trimmed and tied;
But what it needs the most of all is some people living inside.
If I had a lot of money and all my debts were paid
I'd put a gang of men to work with brush and saw and spade.
I'd buy that place and fix it up the way it used to be
And I'd find some people who wanted a home and give it to them free.
Now, a new house standing empty, with staring window and door,
Looks idle, perhaps, and foolish, like a hat on its block in the store.
But there's nothing mournful about it; it cannot be sad and lone
For the lack of something within it that it has never known.
But a house that has done what a house should do,
a house that has sheltered life,
That has put its loving wooden arms around a man and his wife,
A house that has echoed a baby's laugh and held up his stumbling feet,
Is the saddest sight, when it's left alone, that ever your eyes could meet.
So whenever I go to Suffern along the Erie track
I never go by the empty house without stopping and looking back,
Yet it hurts me to look at the crumbling roof and the shutters fallen apart,
For I can't help thinking the poor old house is a house with a broken heart.
by Joyce Kilmer
Urbex Indigo youre so very welcome. Im appreciative of your time & effort you put into them.
Hooray...keep them coming!
Cheers! I will be continuing to bring them! :-)
What a spacious dance floor! I love the long hallways also.
Such a great location too Christine, wish it was my house!
I think it would make a great home! All the built ins and large kitchen. Thanks
I loved the video ,the home ,the music everything about this was beautiful to me! Thank you
Really glad you enjoyed all of these things Cynthia! :-) I really enjoyed filming and showing you guy this home! :-0
Love it, Love it, Love it! Those beautiful floors! Golly Gee! Definitely 50s! Thanks for the fun explore!
Really glad you enjoyed this one TBG, it was indeed a fun one to find and see the nice interiors! Hope it can get another lease on life! Cheers :-)
Great intro.....and love this place!!
I enjoyed finding that old song and listening to it over and over Didi :-) Glad you enjoyed too! :-) Thanks for watching
The inside ia beautiful. Almost move in condition. Floors are wonderful. Thanks.
Never thought of that
I think I'd have to agree with your 50's theory along with it being some sort of community gathering place for special events.
Another great find! Those floors where beautiful. Thanks for another great video! Keep doing what you love.
Hey Brittany thanks for watching, the floors are soooo good, immaculate!!! :-) Glad you enjoyed, cheers for your support! :-)
Loved the floors and the large kitchen with all those cabinets and counter space. Really nice one. Stay safe.
Lots to love about this home indeed Marybeth, hopefully someone see the potential and gets it back up and entertaining again! Thanks for watching :-0
Wow what a beautiful home inside and outside. Thanks for sharing your great videos!!🙂🙂🌷🌷
Glad you enjoyed this one Sonia, my pleasure to share these with you, thanks for watching :-)
What a beauty! Your vids are great, I really enjoy watching and listening to your comments. Cheers to more!!
Thanks for your support Sandra, I`m glad you are enjoying these videos. I enjoy the whole process of them too! :-)
Great find beautiful floors and fantastic kitchen really in good nick I do hope someone grabs it before it gets beyond repair .thanks for sharing xx
Hey Rosa, thanks for watching. Yes it would be a shame for such a home in such a spot to just fall further and further into ruin. It is in great condition. Thanks for watching Rosa :-)
I think you are absolutely right. Definitely for the young at heart!
That dance floor would have been the heart of the home on the weekends Marcia! :-0 Thanks for watching :-)
Beautiful big old home I love the floors.
hose floors were amazing Nancy. Big dance parties haha. thanks for watching :-)
Love it, the floors are gorgeous.... i am moving in tomorrow, I'd happy out there. Thank you again.
Well I expect the first dance night to be up and running in about a month Leeanne????? :-) Glad you like this one too! Thanks for watching
@@urbexindigo5164 oh for sure tickets at the door :)
Thanks for watching Mike :-)
mkuebler5 love to go into old homes!
:-) Thanks for watching and I would also live here in a heart beat :-)
wow! this is really a gem! what a floor! looks like it's left yesterday. Thnx Mate :-)
Hey Rick, that floor is amazing and have been really well looked after, I hope this place gets another shot at living years.! Cheers for watching
@@urbexindigo5164 i hope so too mate,it's worth it!
Wow! Super place, great view. A dream home :-). Thanks for sharing.
My pleasure for sharing Donelle :-) Glad you enjoyed. I would love to live in this house in this spot! So good. :-)
What a great find, also loved the song. Thank you.
That song is stuck in my head and I love it, the dancing back then was very fast paced indeed! :-) Thanks for watching Michele
@@urbexindigo5164: Just concerned about your safety. Be careful out there.
I would love to do my modern jive dancing on those floors. great find
The floor in that room is definitely designed for a lot of people dancing as it has the narrow boarding in comparison to the rest of the homes wider boarding. You would indeed love it Linda, cheers :-)
I would take that place for the FLOORS!
I would not allow anyone to walk on it with
street shoes.
Size of that kitchen is a DREAM!!
And that bathroom...woo~~~hoo!
Late 40s~mid 50s.
LOVE the huge yard, too.
That place is truly repairing & I would live in it.
Totally livable.
If I were an Aussie.
Love this place, the floors are beautiful, such a big place.
Classic old 50`s contemporary home Jeanette. :-) Made for entertaining. :-)
Beautiful home!
Thanks for watching Linda! :-)
"Wow!!! So Beautiful,How could People Leave this Dream home!!!"
That is the question a lot of these home keep forcing us to ask Cheryl.......why indeed....Hope some one see it and gets it back up again :-)
Love the intro music
That's Billy Haley and the Comets "Rip it up". It's on TH-cam. One of my personal faves!
Haha yep thats where I found it FrankiesFancy. Very rockin tune indeed! The dancing back then was high energy for sure!!!! :-)
It was a cracking tune , a real foot tapper Dawn! Thanks for watching :-)
I love the floors and the large rooms. Great find 👍
Hi Kim, thanks for watching. Immaculate floors going to waste!!!! Glad you enjoyed :-)
Excellent condition for its age. Like how they built cabinets and shelving into the walls. The wood floors were amazing.
Lots to like about this one N L. The floors were immaculate, could just picture a rowdy lot dancing away on a Saturday night haha :-) Thanks for watching :-)
Oh my gosh I love this house!
Me too Shawna! I think we have to fight a few others off too if we gonna make it our own! hahaha Cheers for watching ,glad you enjoyed :-)
Looks like the 1950s to me . Beautifully done. Thanks for another great video good job.
My pleasure Joanna :-) Glad you enjoyed. I`m really digging the 50`s approach to being social :-)
I love the wooded floors very nice indeed.
Oh my plants would love this place!! Lol great find...stay safe peace
Wood floors look in good shape. Very shiny. I also think mid century modern. The large room with windows has a lovely view. Pretty flowers out front. Has potential! Nice built in storage
i do love the kitchen
This home surprised me for sure Wilma, so good but such shame it is sitting abandoned . Cheers :-)
Beautiful move in ready! Loved this one such a nice place
Yep, just needs someone to say Yep I want it! Great spot, great vibe to this home too, I really enjoyed it. thanks for watching :-)
You’re editing skills are significant homie :-) for only a house with empty rooms you gave us a really nice explore inside, thanks man ^^
Cheers man! I`m glad my viewers like seeing the styles of the homes too as sometimes like this one it is completely empty of furniture and personal belongings. I like anything abandoned and just love filming them. :-) Empty ones I have to try make interesting with edits haha :-)
Move in ready! Floors are fantastic!
I loved this house. Thanks for the video.
My pleasure Kathy , glad you liked this home too, I could live here!!!! :-)
Those floors are beautiful!
Such long lasting and immaculate wood, shame to see it sitting doing nothing!!!!!!! Thanks for watching Mary :-)
Love the fact floors and the large rooms
Wonderful home all round I think too Amy, glad you like, thanks for watching :-)
The floors are gorgeous and the wallpaper looks in remarkable condition for its age.
It sure has not seen its last days Hiltop Farm and i hope someone comes along and has the money and interest to get it up again! Thanks for watching :-)
This was a very pleasant explore. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed Shirley :-)
Awesome video and beautiful home love the floors and the music 😊
Hi country girl :-) Thanks for watching, beautiful home indeed and i`d love to live here! That rock n roll song I kept listening to, such a foot tapper! :-)
Amazing house.. It's sad when the beautiful ones sit empty
Sure is sad, Carmen, would love to see this one up and entertaining again :-) Thanks for watching
Beautiful!I would love a place like that.
Yep!!!!! Me too Laurie! lol Such a shame it is sitting all alone with no parties rockin on that dance floor! :-) Thanks for watching
Loving this video ❤Great find thanks for sharing
Hi Sheila, really glad you have enjoyed this one! :-) My pleasure in sharing it

I certainly would live there too Evelyn, there are 2 lakes next to it too. Thanks for watching :-)

Haha yes this one is still move in ready pretty much, prob only been abandoned 5 or so years? Glad you enjoyed this one too! Thanks for watching :-)
I'm ready to move in! Very 50s vibe. Love the amount of room in there! The second bathroom is odd.
It is very much ready and in condition for a move in right away, good sweep and clean, all the taps are still there too! Cheers for watching Stephanie :-)
Oh ya so beautiful house guys very nice home .....but abandoned
Hopefully someone can but this and make it a home again R Shinta :-)
loved it
Thanks for watching Robia, glad you enjoyed :-)
@@urbexindigo5164 i always enjoythem
Great eye spotting this as usual Urbex Indigo. Keep up the good work and keep them coming.
I saw it and turned around 3 times to make sure it was vacant before i went in the drive way!! haha. Glad you enjoyed! :-)
Kept up house well. Very nice.
Hi Gennie! Thanks for watching! :-) Very good condition still and shame it is not in use!
Beautiful place Loved the floors
Floors were immaculate, very well kept! Thanks for watching Judy, glad you enjoyed :-)
Great job Love the music too thanks
beautifle place, awrsome floors
ANother one very livable and just sitting waiting for another chance! :-)
A Beautiful property !
It is indeed a lovely spot in between two lakes Jane. Shame is sitting empty. Thanks for watching :-)
WOW WHAT A NICE BIG HOME 🙋🏻URBEX INDIGO great explore cant wait to find out what this home was use for THANKS FOR SHARING from NEW ZEALAND
Hey Christine I will do an update on this if I do find some info even if I have to stop in at the next house and ask, but wont be back that way for a month or more. Could not find anything on line as the address or lot is not available and not active. Cheers :-)
Georgious 🏠 house
Very cool 😎👍
I noticed an outside pass thru from kitchen to the front porch. Could be just a grand home for the time. Nice features and beautiful well kept wood floors.
I really found this one interesting and the idea that they had such entertaining purposes in mind is great to think about. Must have been quite the gathering spot Nancy ! :-)
this place is pretty inside and out. what a shame that it will decay.
Hopefully someone does something with it Elizabeth and it goes back to be a Saturday night fun house! haha :-) Thanks for watching
It's beautiful! Why would anyone leave open for vandals?
Being way out in the country, people are are little more respectful and away from city gangs too. Not to say the country towns do not have the idiots! haha. Probably was I a state of repair or something and has been left open at the rear. Seems to be a non active address and lot too as there is none availavle. Thanks for watching Patricia :-)

A fine house. A bit of elbow grease and paint and I’d happily call it home.
Me too Dorothy!!! It is in a beautiful spot in between two lakes also! Thanks for watching :-)
(Remember the story 'Our Town?' Where the young girl gets to 're-live' a day of her life, but no one see's 'her' or hears her)
I found out that sadly Stilwell Hall his been torn down & destoryed.
Floors are great !!!!
Immaculate floors Charles! Shame no one is dancing on them anymore! Cheers for watching :-)
