As are all dogs.
Not all dogs are intelligent or beautiful.
Several comprehensive, Scientific studies were done to determine dog intelligence & Golden Retrievers ranked 4th out of 100 dog breeds.
Bull terriers (pit bulls) ranked 94th as least intelligent. I like the bull terriers, but they sure aren't smart nor beautiful.

Dogs know male from female by the way they smell. They are natural protectors and they protect females. Bailey isn't being hostile but he protects his mommy.
Is your wife pregnant? I think dogs can sense when a human is pregnant and goes into protective mode. That, or maybe the dog is claiming to be the alpha, or this is just a fun video
My dog is super protective to anyone in the house when we are sleeping, I think its something around these lines haha. It doesn't matter who's sleeping or who's touching them while they sleep.

Becareful making this a habit!!!! When the dog tries to assume its alpha role sometimes it can turn the dog into more of a vicious nature. Make sure he knows you are the boss!
Yes, animal learn to fight by playing. Dont let your animal growl on you even if its for "play", its still an animal, if you dont want to sting him one day because he was "playing"

It may seem funny at this stage but this is a behaviour that needs to be eliminated quickly because it can become a very serious problem.
You do know the dog actually thinks that his owner is playing with him right not what it says in the title?
@@Statesomething You clearly don't understand dog behaviour. The dog is clearly showing that it thinks it is in a more senior in the pack than her husband, by treating this as a game and his wife laughing and encouraging the situation it will reinforce this idea in the dogs mind. Allowing this to continue will in time lead to the dog becoming more and more aggressive towards the husband. This is a classic case of a problem that starts small and builds into a very serious situation. The end result of these situations is it becoming impossible for the husband to be around the wife in the dogs presence and the dog becoming dangerously aggressive towards anybody it sees as a competitor for the wife's attention. It is quite common problem and can lead to the dog being destroyed if a dog behaviour specialist cannot correct the behaviour. These people need to get expert advice and eliminate this behaviour before it gets worse. Above all they and you need to understand this is not an innocent game it's a serious problem.
Old saying goes, 'no bad dogs, just bad dog owners'.
