  • Part of the curriculum of the Nevada DPS Police Academy is the TASER Training Course. Cadets are taught how to use the TASER. Included in the training is exposure to the device or getting tased. The exposure training highlights its capabilities and limitations. Scenario based training is also done to show where TASER use is in the Use of Force Continuum. Students are required to set up their Taser in a cross draw or off hand draw to avoid officers mistake / mistaking the gun for their Taser (taser gun mistake).

    I took a 5sec one to gain a civilian permit to own a taser as a business owner in a rough community. I agree with the reason that whoever carries a taser should know what it feels like in order to not use it without knowing the true effects. It helps in deescalization before just pulling it out and letting it rip on a tiny provocation.

    Why is necessary this exam ??

    • @mikelaputt
      @mikelaputt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      It is to give the cadets first hand experience on the effects of the taser.
      1. To testify in court that they have been exposed to its effects
      2. To know how they will react should one be used on them
      3. To know the limitations of the device enough to recognize that the effects can be fought off
      4. To know the effects of the device to know when not to use it.

      @Mike La Putt And they will still taze someone for nothing and just get a slap on the hand. This "training" is useless, much like coward tyrant cops.

    I was tasered in the police academy. Its so invasive the feeling lol. This was funny. Most my academy was the dude at 230. Few of us took it like champs. I started getting up arpund 4 seconds of it. Pepper spray is more painful especially the high end stuff they used. Like 20 million skoval
