- NV DPS Police Academy 83 TASER Training
Part of the curriculum of the Nevada DPS Police Academy is the TASER Training Course. Cadets are taught how to use the TASER. Included in the training is exposure to the device or getting tased. The exposure training highlights its capabilities and limitations. Scenario based training is also done to show where TASER use is in the Use of Force Continuum. Students are required to set up their Taser in a cross draw or off hand draw to avoid officers mistake / mistaking the gun for their Taser (taser gun mistake).

I'm retired from doing security work now and I can tell you from personal experience getting tazed is not fun., they make jokes about it on TV and in the movies to prove how tough you are but in the real world... It seriously sucks., most companies when you go unarmed you are assigned collapsible baton, pepper spray and taser and you are required to take use of force classes for each, and those classes will hurt; but the skills you learned can save your life, and I speak from personal experience
It's a thankless profession that few want to do and even less understand. Let me be one who thanks you for keeping people safe.

To learn the effects of the Taser and its limitations. It is hoped that the learn to use it properly.
@@mikelaputt Clear. In Russia, such tasers are not used. Your police officers feel their weapons on their own skin before using them in the service, I think it's fair.
