Well I think it was a very unhurried smooth drive, and I don't think you were trying to pass the other mini, and I noticed at times you could have passed it if you wanted too. Thumbs up!
I'm on the same road, currently rebuilding the engine with forged internals, GTD 47mm turbo, big intercooler, catless down pipe, with a costume tune. After that I will be doing Wilwood big brakes, RPF1 wheels 17x7 ET +43 with 225/45 Toyo R888R hoping not to have rubbing issues
@@2strokelion366 the R56 is a very problematic Mini. You really need someone who knows everything about that cars. Repairs can be very expensive. But otherwise its a nice fun car.
F56 superior in every way. Well driven. The runflats if they are Pirelli are actually pretty good. I lost track of the number of times you had to lift to let the other car stay in front.
Looks to me like the R56 is lighter and may handle better, possibly more nimble, seems to be more neutral (although I think the R56 was screwing around in the beginning just trying to get the feel of how the car rotates). R56 consistently gets away when the road tightens up or if there is traffic. F56 is definitely faster, higher top speed but it seems to plow the front end a little more than the R56. This is my observation of this video which is based on the set up of these two cars and the both pilots. With some more tuning there are gains to be made. Great video!
The F56 is superior in every way. The only reason the R56 was any challenge to the F56 was due to the tires. Overinflated and overheated 205/40/18 Eco run-flats vs 215/45/17 Semi slicks.
How do you know it's lacking emotions everywhere? Do you own an F56 JCW? I have driven both back to back. The F56 has comfort, a quality interior, power (and actually a reliable engine compared to N18), handling and it's a lot of fun to drive. The F56 isn't THAT much bigger either. :)
Because i've driven the R56 JCW myself and was a passenger in a F56. It may be the better daily driver, but its just such a big car in comparsion.The engine is rubber bandish and unexciting at the top end, especially with the automatic. The N18 was reliable after the Facelift, if you treat it right.

aronnepiperno Totaly agree with you, I have a stock 2009 Cooper s, and know how well it goes. 175hp stock, 230hp jcw, so should have the edge.

I would stick to the 230hp, 300 is too much for that little Peugeot engine..

The JCW is a faster car, especially with automatic transmission (but not as fun imo)
I own two F56s, each manual 2019, one with 136, the other with 192 HP. I love both small bltches… 😅❤
Orange to apple comparison ... go for r56 if prefer rawness and go for f56 if prefer a drive that’s more refine
