I guarantee you've never heard anything like it, even from Pink Floyd.
One of their finest songs. The band is just so locked in on this one. And David's guitar work is stunning. Beautiful song and thank you for the interesting reaction Aileen.
Maybe my favorite Pink Floyd song. I know, its hard to make a final decision here, but i really really love this one. And as much as i love Davids guitar, when it comes to lyrics and story, for me Roger Waters was always the heart of Pink Floyd.

what a masterpiece from Pink Floyd again💚 Thank you Aileen for covering "Dogs" this time. I also hope you will do "Us and them" from Pink Floyd someday
Just for reference: The album's lyrics describe various classes in society as different kinds of animals: the predatory dogs, the despotic ruthless pigs, and the "mindless and unquestioning” herd of sheep. This song was the only one co-written by David Gilmore.
Aileen's already reacted to Pigs (Three Different Ones) and all the album's concepts discussed. Btw it's Gilmour. Amazes me how many people always get that wrong!
@@MikePhillips-pl6ov 1: I've watched them all but she always seems vague on the theme of the album. That's why I gave her a quick reference. 2: Thanks Mr Speller Bee!
I am so glad, darling. You were reacting to my favorite song of all times my sister passed several years ago and I connect Pink Floyd with her deeply. I remember the day she brought this album home. I was mesmerized with the artwork when she dropped the needle on the record, I did not close my mouth until an hour afterwards when I went back and listened again, and I am still listening to this day😢

Fun fact about this song/album….if you listen to the vinyl record when you reach the “stone” echo, lift the needle but don’t move the needle. Turn the album over and drop the needle in the same spot and you’ll hear the echo coming through on the other song. The stone has fallen through the record. Great reaction and this is my fav Pink Floyd album
David chose to use a telecaster rather than the usual strat on this tune for that biting lead tone and edge. Every detail is thoroughly fleshed out with these guys.Floyd has been my favorite band for 30 years. There has never been a band that hits the emotional and melodic notes for me like Floyd.
When I listen to this, I think of a workaholic business man, who has given his all to being successful, regardless of what he has to do. By hook or crook, so to speak. Only to realize he's been being used his whole life to the point of just being a stranger in his own home. Just remember that line about all the bad blood slowing and turning to stone. Dragging our subject down. It's important, because `the stone` is referred to several times. (Even on other albums.)
No matter how many times i listen, i feel something. I was watching this with tears streaming down my face. I'm 52, I've heard this many times, and i still feel the instrumentals. It's the only band that quiets my mind and feel peace at times. So when my mind can finally stop running and take a breath, i get emotional because I'm like, woo, this is what peace feels like. 😢

I love these reactions. Back in the day we used to have to bring a cd or what not to a friends house and lay around and listen. Now with streaming you kinda lose that experience. Its not as special because its everywhere. Thats why watching these are so cool. You bring us back to laying on the floor and sharing something beautiful.
Thank you so much for reacting to this album. it's arguably my favorite. There was a while that I played it on a loop, over and over. They seem able to change your feelings at will with their instruments. I like the way the music can be open to your own interpretation. Great stuff

My favorite Pink Floyd song. There are also early versions of Dogs and Sheep with alternate lyrics. The concept is basically splitting people into 3 types. The Pigs are the people on top, the Dogs are essentially the cutthroats out for themselves. Someone made a video for this song using the animated Animal Farm movie. It actually syncs up really well.
Love Aileen ❤😊 you really understand this stuff like you grew up with it. So nice to see a beautiful young woman fall into the same trances as I did decades ago.
My first time on Aileen's page. I know nothing about her but she should have been an FM radio host with that voice. David Gilmour's guitar has always reminded me of Carlos Santana's 1970s output. Both were like vocalists on the guitar.
Gilmour knows how to create many different moods through his guitar solos. This solo in "Dogs" definitively portrays a high level of Anguish. It's right there along with "Hey You" from The Wall.
The contrast between Gilmour and Waters vocals is so special and has always worked.
I sometimes wish Richard had some on this album too.
Shout out to Rick Wright and the fantastic keyboards on this song. gorgeous synths and organ, funky electric piano. RIP, Mr. Wright.
YES!!!!!!!!!!
Especially at the beginning. Amazing acoustic guitar, yes, but Wright just casually drops in multiple dimensions of sound almost before thought.
Every time I hear the opening guitar riff for this song playing, I get chills, because I know how ingenious the coming song is.
Thats the feeling i love getting after listening to Pigs on the wing 1 which is calm, then those acoustic guitar chords coming and you know what a beast is about to be released. so fucking powerful!
Almost like the guitar is speaking! That is the definition of David Gilmour!
💯
Huge Floyd fan here. This song is some of his finest work. The 100 watt Hiwatt into the Fane 4 x 12 raging, what a sound.
And in the case of Animals (1977), barking and oinking and bleating too
What do you mean by 'almost'?!

Aileen you’re a poet yourself! @28:15 “I’m doing as I’m told, I’m kind of being controlled, I’m into this mold”…🤘🏻
Love Aileen ❤😊 you really understand this stuff like you grew up with it. So nice to see a beautiful young woman fall into the same trances as I did decades ago.
Pink Floyd are one if the greatest bands ever amazing song just a nother brick in the wall
I love the way you distributed the album 🌎🌍🌏💚
Floating.
That's the sensation I felt when you were talking about that tingling sensation.
They are just amazing! Thanks for that!!!!
I saw PF do this in concert 1977 in Portland Oregon. Incredible! Giant animals floating around and speakers surrounding the entire venue.
I get goosebumps after almost 50 yrs on that lead after dogs bark. One of my favorite leads of all time. That's what i listen for.Leads.
My first time on Aileen's page. I know nothing about her but she should have been an FM radio host with that voice. David Gilmour's guitar has always reminded me of Carlos Santana's 1970s output. Both were like vocalists on the guitar.
I broke down at the last verse. Absolutely magnificent song
That moment when you realize those aren't real dog sounds anymore and it's Richard Wright making them on the synth. Precious 😊❤
Can't wait for you to do " sheep " , oh, boy !
Gilmour knows how to create many different moods through his guitar solos. This solo in "Dogs" definitively portrays a high level of Anguish. It's right there along with "Hey You" from The Wall.
juste du génie, à tous les niveaux, musique, paroles, ambiance, concept.
