@6:32 truck needs lower control bushings, look at how the lower control arm moved/shifted when spring tensions was relieved. Good video excellent explanation on everything. Hope one day i have the funds to do a kit like this on my late daughters truck.
This truck had new suspension components before we started the airbag conversion, including upper and lower shafts and caps. The reason it looks like it shifts whe the tension comes off is because as it started to extend, the tension decreased and Adrian (Dave's assistant) twisted the handle on the jack and it sped-up making it look like it shifted/moved. Thanks for watching and for your comment!
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV I thought the bushings were supposed to be tight to the point that when the lower arm has no spring tension on it, the arm needs to be forced down by hand? i guess the bushing was worn in or something.

So how do I lift the front or rear of a 64 3/4 ton . I plan on hauling a heavy horse trailer and trying to keep it stock with just a little bit of altitude. Would like it if most people couldn't notice it . Thanks . More videos ! Appreciate all your help
You don't have a lot of options lifting a 2wd except maybe using coil spring spacers. If it's a 4x4 then you can use blocks or even lifted leaf springs. On a 2wd or 4x4 you could also do a body lift, but that doesn't make much more than a cosmetic difference.
Is the plate needed for reasons other than a place to mount your bag? I feel like you could make small bag mount and weld it up inside the pocket for more of a drop. Am I missing something? I ordered the kit for the rear and got it installed no problem. Just wondered why the plate was needed.
Exactly as you said, just to give the bag something to mount to. Not everyone has a welder or tools necessary to cut a pocket or fab a mount. This plate makes the kit useable by anyone regardless of whats in their toolbox.
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I also noticed you cut the bottom bump stop off. Do you recommend using a universal mount just to have something in place?
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV I’d like to add air ride to my squarebody but can’t find anything about 4-link kits-they all seem to be custom jobs. Front end stuff and trailing arms are easy but 4 link stuff is intimidating!
If I have a front cross member that seats the top of an airbag instead of bolting the plate to the upper control arm, are the top of these bags capable of mounting there without the plates instead?
Our air bags are not tall enough for that type of mounting. Additionally, because the angle of the bag changes as it arcs, we don't recommend mounting up in the top seat because of the potential for it to rub on the crossmember and eventually get a leak.
Any ideas on doing this to a 75 C20 and 68 C30. Not really to lower, just wanting a smoother ride. Thinking on removing some of the rear leafs but getting heavy duty capacity back with air bags. Thanks

The amount of pressure is going to vary wildly by the application (ie; 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, longbed, shortbed, metal floor, wood floor, etc). For reference, our bags are rated to a max pressure of 600psi, and have a load range of 350-3000 lbs per bag which exceeds the factory load limit of a 1/2 ton truck by a LOT. Our suggestion is to add air under load until your desired ride height is reached and note that pressure for your specific application.
Absolutely, there's no reason you couldn't daily drive a truck that has been bagged. Many vehicles throughout the decades have been equipped with air bags right from the factory! We have an employee here at BROTHERS that drives a '69 C10 everyday to work with bags.
The length of the bags in this kit are designed to lower the truck. Longer bags can be used to keep the factory height. Please contact our customer service department for options.
In the end of the video is the truck as low as it gets? On the website it says it goes all the way to a 7/8 drop, if so does the gas tank have good clearance, thanks

@MalikDigger454 > Coil over shock will most likely involve the upper & lower control arm change as the length and mounting changes. Be prepared to change springs at least once even if calling customer service first for approximate spring. But one thing to keep in mind is service. Depending on use, but shocks have to be removed, sent to an authorized facility to have them over-hauled complete. This is because valving can fatigue, seals wear, oil degrades with time, use & wear.
Did I miss the part where the truck goes up and down?
Have you done a c10 1965
Not in the studio, but its exactly the same as this.
So, watched this whole thing and you didn’t even show us the lift in action? How does the system look on this installation? Does-it look good going up and down? What the height look like? How does it look during operation with the small lines provided in the Brothers lift kit? I’m left wondering what it’s final result is actually..? Looks like it will be a good kit, dunno really, wanted to “see” it work after my investment in time… Oh, well, looks like a nice enough kit..?😊
I was trying to purchase items ro your shop and i was told youcan't ship to Namibia

Do you have a diagram on paper
A routing diagram? If that's what your talking about we don't have one. Routing of the air lines is sort of dealt with on a job-by-job basis depending on tank in the cab, hidden under the cab, behind the bumper, etc.
I love this guy an the video l am building a 1985 c 20 l sure would
Like a catalog l still need a lot of parts Chevy truck parts that is. Ha Ha the ad was to fast an l didn't get all of 800 number
I guess doesn't work if you got leaves suspension in the rear 1975
Great tutorial, but I have never understood why people want to use air bags, more leak points, the controls, air pump and tank, just too many possible failure points. But that's just my opinion.
"And their not a lot of time and trouble to install". Oh yeah, try doing any other truck outside a Chevy.
Okay, i did it on my GMC and it was still easy 😂
@@MegaWillinator Chevy and GMC are the same thing. SMH. Try doing a Torsion bar truck or a Ranger. And if you want to lay frame No truck is "easy".
@@Ladysman_217 lmao I was only making a joke, I know that non GM products are substantially harder to make alterations to. My buddy swapped a crown Vic front subframe into his D150 to avoid dealing with the stock stuff
This video was very helpful.
Thanks!
