End of Blog Quote: “You’re worth it, you’re smart enough, you have all the skills that you need, you’re intuitive, you don’t need permission, Don’t ever forget it and you can make it happen!” Karin Bohn
Yes! I’m thinking of starting a new career at the age of 20 as a interior designer.. it’s scary to think of investing so much money into a course.. when I’m not 100% about it !!
This has been one of your best videos by far about the amount effort that is put into a successful business, team, project and work ethic. So glad you go into depth about the real life of being a business owner, interior designer, creating a brand and being a true inspiration! You are truly one of a kind 💕
Not only are you a role model for me, I honestly feel like you're my online mentor. I work in accounting and your messaging about hard work hit home with me. Also love the affirmation at the end. Thank you for sharing with us 💗
You’re so right - there really isn’t enough examples of hardworking people out there on the internet, that aren’t social media stars. I imagine because hard workers are busy working and that’s why they’re not making videos; so thank you. Thank you for taking the extra time to show this interesting and rewarding industry. You deserve all the success!
Awe. You’re so sweet for acknowledging all the hard work that goes into this. I’m so happy that you like my channel. Thank you so much for watching!! ❤️😘
I’m switching careers to ID & you give me hope that I can make it work with a lot of hard work and persistence. I’ve been working hard in an industry I got into just to climb the Corp ladder and I’m no longer happy but I’m so passionate about creativity and design & cant wait for the transition
oh my oh my did i ever need that little pep chat at the end - I'm working so hard to create my ID firm out the clear blue.. I'm knocking on doors and sending out those big messages to the universe...wave after wave of getting back up and doing it every day, and praying for that one that's going to pay the rent ... thanks for bringing us along with you, we are a collective and amazing community, to bring light, love and beautiful interiors to the world...!
Hi Karin, I looooove to see your management style. I've incorporated the way you communicate with your staff and while it's tough managing different personalities, I love the balance of energy and professionalism you bring to your team. I love your day to day videos in your office, please show more. #modaymoringmeetings
You are probably the most amazing person that I watch. I love how you don’t let the late nights and the hard work get to you, and you still remain to work hard, and have a life, and you are still a beautiful, goofy and just all around genuine person. I love it.
My 11 year old is thinking about fashion, makeup and design as a career. Lately she's been leaning toward design and your series has opened up a whole new avenue of learning, for both of us. Thank you!
I am only midway through the video, but I believe it is important to note, when you do what you love, it is much easier to put in the long hours and go the extra mile. Go hard with anything and everything that you do, yes, but when it's your passion, the going hard hits your spirit different. When you are putting in long hours for a business or company, where the work is outside the scope of what you love, the tasks and long hours become tiring and draining. If this is you, have a plan to transition and do not forget your end game, your goal! Although K looks tired (no shade), she is loving every minute of it, good or bad. xoxo
Hi Karin, I am a student in Omaha, Nebraska and I am graduating with an Interior Design degree in just 10 short days. I have watched your videos throughout my entire education at my college, and every video you have released has put a smile on my face. You make me realize that all the hard work is worth it, and that I have endless potential. Just your attitude and motivation towards design alone inspired so many of my projects throughout school. And absorbing your videos on a daily basis makes me realize just how important the business side of Interior Design is. Thank you for all that you do, for putting an effort into posting this videos on a weekly basis. You truly are inspiring lives, and you and your team are amazing people and such talented designers. Have a fabulous week!! 💕
You inspire us to grow and keep putting in the long hours! Watching how you still grind to make your business better makes us feel excited to work hard!! Thank you for your words at the end of this video! So beautiful and so powerful -- The world needs more Karin Bohns!! We love you!! 💓💓
Hi Karin, I have been watching your videos Day and Night for almost a week already. Thanks your being so Kind of sharing your knowledge. These days, it's really hard to find a mentor that really shares their knowledge and actually invest time with their apprentice. Funny, but you tought me more than any of my past Mentor in my apprenticeship. Thanks a lot, karin.
Hi Karin I really love your videos. There's other career based videos that are just superficial. But yours goes so in depth with the things you deal with and the situations that arise. Also, I love how you bring the camera into the office and in meetings and it just gives a really dynamic sense of what's going on.
You are so darling! Strong, SMART and yet such a sensitive empath. Creative like none other. A true genuine authentic human being. Keep up the great work!
I have been searching through almost all the interior design channels to find the perfect one, that not only teaches me how to select the right furniture and furnishings but also shows me the way to interact and meet the needs of the client. You are doing something different from all the channels with multi-million subscribers. Thankyou so much for being an inspiration to aspiring designers like myself. ❤️
I don't know why I'm crying for the opening. Lots of hard work behind all the glamorous scenes! I know that you love and enjoy your work! Thank you always for inspirations.
"it's so ugly that it looks good"! I said that to my work colleague on Tuesday while browsing through our huge collection of second-hand items! Crazy! and after seeing this being said in the video, I was IN! Completely SUBSCRIBED to #KarinBohn videos and design ideas... Pick something "unusual", "old" or "ugly" and turn it into that "aha" or "wow" reaction, and you have ART, CREATIVITY and INSPIRATION working to their fullest! - the same goes with clothes ;) get wild!
Karin, I'm going in for my first interior design internship interview in a few weeks and I decided to watch your videos to get prepared. You are such a huge motivator for me, every time I watch your videos I feel like I can conquer anything and reach my goals!
Hi Karin! First I must say my English does not well, but I will try writing best as I can. I have been following you and watching your video for a while and I’m feel my skills so far from you,You’re so great and hardworking. I’ve gotten heritage from my dad is a old house 🏠. I’ve been renovating his house for 2 years I’ve keep my money for house renovate. Afterwards I became love design the house. I’ve learned the basic bilding house from situation by every day. I donot think about the details before the build start, almost everytime was mistake. Afterwards I wanna be à good architect and I did apply to the architect college But I got a mail that I ’m placed on the waiting list to the program. I feeling why so hard to get something even I love to do or be. Life so unfair. I hope I can learn architect from You when I watching your youtube. Thanks
The quote in the end was really what I needed to hear. I was having anxiety over being smart enough to become a interior designer or an architect but after hearing that from one of my biggest interior design role models I just started feeling relief! Thank you so much 😊❤️
That ending quote made me tear up. I’m a phase in my life where I want so desperately to open up my own interiors firm but I’m so scared because I question my talent my experience my intuition I understand the reality and difficulty in owning a business and the statistics offered in regards to small businesses and their high failure rates but regardless I still go back to that idea of OWN YOUR OWN FIRM, and in thinking about it again this mornjng and reviewing how dissatisfied I am with where I work , that quote couldn’t have been a better message to hear ! Thank you Karin for being such a pivotal inspiration and someone I aspire to be and have watched since I’ve been developing as a designer. This series means so so much to me ! A fan from New York :)
Loved seeing the behind the scenes scurry of trying to get your house photographed. I really do think so many are out of touch with what it takes to create content. But love most of all what you said in the beginning of the video...it's about the times you didn't give up. Those words are huge xo
Like the motivation quote you say at the ending....... it’s a fuel to my burn out life. I just wish I could have more people around me to “speak” interior design to me......
So glad I found your TH-cam. I'm pursuing a career in Architecture/Interior Design without college, because I can't afford it, and trying to "think" and "be" those roles is a high practice, always on my mind. I'm glad I can view your hard work, and disciplinary, harmonizing love.
This is my first comment ever on TH-cam! Karin, you are my favorite Business-TH-camr. You inspire me so much. I always watch your new video on Mondays to get motivated for the day and the rest of the week! Thank you so much and I wish you and your team the best for your futures and careers! Kind regards from Germany!
I love the office environment with all the material samples on the rack. And one thing I like is the management of time and daily schedules. Last but not the least, the vlog is really awesome. It's kind of documentation of day to day activities in the life of designers.
Hi Karin! Caught up on this weeks upload and I could not agree more with what you shared. 'Hard Work Pays Off' 'Not enough examples of people that work hard, have a good work ethic, are honest, transparent and genuine' You are certainly a shining example of this, I have always loved how 'real' you and your content is. You show what really goes on behind the scenes of achieving your goals, whether it be lifestyle, personal growth, career or business. In this day and age where the power of influence has never been greater or more widely exposed we need more public examples or at least more publicity on people like yourself. This would also show people that hard work although challenging is also fun and enjoyable too! I love your perspective on how the work of HOB impacts the client and their respective clients/customers/user and that they are getting there ROI. #Bohnafide - I adore the way you have designed the space and all the beautiful finishes :-)
OMG! My comment made it to the video 🎉 I'm really happy that you remembered it even though it was some time ago. When I was at the time at school where I had to start deciding what I wanted to study I was struggling really hard. I had some ideas but I didn't feel that I would be happy in this field. So I'm really grateful that I bumped into your channel and that I could see the life from the perspective of an interior designer. Now, I'm getting closer and closer to starting in October my interior design course. Who knows, maybe one day we will meet and then I will thank you personally.💖
Your videos are such a breath of fresh air. I am pursuing a new business venture with my husband (I am a teacher!) and sometimes it’s scary but I also know that hard work pays off. Thank you for all the inspiration. x
Watching your videos lately and the quote at the end of this video has encouraged me to go back to school and pursue my dream of becoming an ID . Thank you so much! This is the push i needed! ❤️
As an interior design student from Morocco, you truly are an inspiration to me and to how I would like to work after my degree. Great work ethics and innovative ideas are the core. Keep up the great work, old fan in here!
The very first time i saw your vid about how to become a interior designer, i am already hooked by your channel..thanks that there is someone like you whose willing to give inspiration to others and showing love for the craft...new subscriber here...
I have waited all my life for this. Haha. Missed you, Karin. As always, loved the content for today. One day I'll have my own youtube channel and I will never forget to mention how you've been such an inspiration to me. ❤❤❤ Hoping you can share your design workflow, from introductory meetings with client down to wrapping up the construction and turning over to the Client. That would be very exciting for me since I am into design and construction right now. ❤❤❤ All the love from the Philippines. Xoxo. 🇵🇭
It is very rare an interior designer's style translates so beautifully into their home. (You know...where it's not so precious or pretentious.) I loved everything about Karin's home decor. The map in the dinning area was everything! I don't know what's going on in Canada, but I tend to lean towards the interior design of Canadians than I do decorators in the states.
Thank you for making an amazing video, you really inspired and encourage us to be an interior designer or an architect. Being in this field is really really hard especially if your a woman, a year ago i was ready to give up and try another field. But when i saw your videos by chance in youtube and watch it, it somehow gave me encouragement and i felt like "i can do this " and i hope so too. I don't even know how to express myself anymore but thank you for the amazing video.
Love your videos! by the way that rock at 4:45 at table for the project the color rock with background white reminds me the 80' s floor houses from mexico country are everywhere, my grandmother has that kind of floor.. no like because when a jewel -earrings part down was a nightmare find. LOL
I'm so grateful! I even didn't realize how much I need all your words write now!Thanx for motivating me every single time.)and I'm saying you (hi) from Lviv.Ukraine💛
this video was so important because nowadays I feel like people want the success without the hardworking. everyone wants the Louis but doesn't want to put in the work. its great to have videos like this that show us the work it takes to be successful and to remind people that if you want to do this you have to put in the work. can't wait till you heat 100k
Thank you sharing your experience! Your ending quote gave me such a spark. I'm currently in the transition of moving from Japan as a Designer back to Canada, in hopes of pushing my career further in Interior Design. I'll definitely keep watching your videos, and who knows. Maybe I'll take a trip from Toronto to Vancouver to see what exciting things you have going on in the west coast. Keep posting, keep sharing, you know this but you're amazing 👍
This vlog really speaks to me. It’s been a long time coming for my career in interior design to start and now it has finally started to happen for me. Your ending quote is really encouraging, this is exactly what I need to hear right now. Because you are so right! It takes long hours and ultimately to never give up, no matter how hard it gets. Thank you so much for that!

I see all your work that you have to put in one project and make me feel that I have to do the same in everything I do in my life. Even I'm coward person, you are such a inspired person to going through risks and make the job better and better 💙💙 Thank you!!!
Your thoughts for the client are valid because the bar is raised as people invest more in their home spaces and have better-looking homes. Public spaces really have to ramp up to WOW the customer. Ok...Oscar is the BEST model, ever.
My fav video! The ending quote was my fav. I can’t wait for you guys to move into the new space. Your vids are so inspirational, you really are the best role model. I’m not even into interior design but what you teach goes far beyond that! I love your work ethic & employees and how calm you are. You have so many qualities that I admire and want to implement in my life. Thank you! I always leave so excited for next weeks vid lol
