    Just discovered your channel. Really like it and appreciate the work you put into it. A little late, but one comment I would add up riding the T-Bar: If you ride along with someone else, it's much easier if you can ride with someone close to your own height.

      Agreed, but only if the other person knows what they are doing and are relaxed about it.

    Also about getting out of the way if you fall off the T bar: thete is a short on TH-cam of a snowboarder who is letting a T bar pull him up a steep hill. He loses his grip and slides down the hill, taking out everyone for at least 1/10 of a mile.

      Good points. This is probably one of the vids I'll re-shoot this year.

    I haven't skied in many years and may never again because of an arthritic knee, but I really enjoy your video. It sounds like there's a trick to riding a T bar. I've only used rope tows, button lifts, and eventually chairlifts.

    Just couldn't get this yesterday. Fell twice- out of the station and where it got steeper. Should've watched this first! Will try again next visit. Thanks for the video.

      @@BreckSnowPro tried again, this time with another rider, and made it to the top! Of course, he got off first and I immediately fell. We had a good laugh about it!

    Hey Ted, my family and I will be in Breck in a couple of weeks skiing and I'm curious what video recorder do you use for your videos? They're great quality and I've watched a number of them in preparation for our trip. I am maybe interested in getting something like you've got to capture our family trip. Thanks! Rhett from FL

      @Rhett Thomas - Most of this channel was shot with a GoPro Hero4 Black on an EVO SS gimbal. I bought a GoPro Hero7 Black at the beginning of this season, and like it. But I have just not had the chance to use it that I thought I would yet.

    Were T-Bars always fixed-grip? Was the "T" always rigid? I grew up on Poma (platter) lifts and have never been on a T-Bar, but remember seeing really old films of a T-Bar lift near McCall, Idaho. Seemed like they were a bit different than this one a Breckenridge.

    • @BreckSnowPro
      @BreckSnowPro  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are lots of variations on the theme. "T", "J", Platter, Rope... there are all kinds of ways of getting pulled up the hill.

    Newbies are great entertainment while standing in line:) The walk of shame to the end of the line after falling down!

    Literally the only doppelmayr lift at Breckenridge lol. Anyways, It is a doppelmayr t bar with 5 bullwheels! The turn reminds me of the south ridge triple at killington.

    whats the point of t bar, y not a regular chair lift ?? thx
    headed there end o feb

    • @BreckSnowPro
      @BreckSnowPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The T-bar can run in windy conditions that a chairlift couldn't. And it gets windy on that ridge sometimes!

  • @grahamjarman
    @grahamjarman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    also, how long does it take to acclimate to elevation

    • @BreckSnowPro
      @BreckSnowPro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the individual. Some have no issues to begin with, others never fully get there during their visit, most notice a big difference after 1-3 days.

    a fucking t-bar expert guide, lmfao.
    You just grab it and go. Beginners focus on keeping their skis straight and pointing in the right direction as well as not hurting someone with their poles.

      it clearly says the trail is expert and not the tbar
