They were really good and got me nervous a couple of times. Astros fans would not be rude to them if they would just respect and treat it how it is, a fair baseball game. As a fellow Phillies fan, I agree. I watched every minute of those games and Houston just outplayed us. The Astros deserve this, but we have nothing to be ashamed of because we got further than anyone would have expected. Can't wait to see what the Phillies do next year!
I am so glad we are able to beat a very good Phillies team, but always felt we should have beaten the Nats as well since we were actually a better team over the Nats than we are over the Phillies, but we didn’t play a smart game with the Nats like we have with the Phillies! The Phillies is actually a better team than that Nats team that beat us, in my opinion, but in this year’s World Series they are being pitted against an Astros team that is more complete and mature and that is the only reason we won this year over the Phillies! I believe this Phillies team is extremely smart and disciplined in the way they game-planned and the way they hit the ball - we seldom see them swing at a bad pitch, something I can’t say for the Astros who swung at a lot of bad pitches! But the Astros have improved in their batting discipline as well because in the two prior World Series our players used to swing at just about any pitches that came their way, it didn’t even matter that they were un-hittable pitches since often times they were two or more feet out of the strike zone! This caused them to get struck out too easily and caused them to lose both of those World Series! Good luck to the Phillies unless we happened to play them again! You guys have one of the most smartest and dangerpus hitters in baseball in Kyle Schwarber! Holy Moly that guy is dangerous!
The Astros really put H-Town on the map as a true sports city. Not to discredit the Rockets or the Dynamos, with what they have contributed to the city. Me being a native New Yorker, the Knicks loss to the Rockets in the finals don't really sting me because I didn't live to see it but the Yankees getting rocked and now the Astros being the only MLB team to have an even record (43-43 all time vs NYY) + the Astros having the best W/L record over the Yankees, than any other rival the Yankees got makes it more exciting to watch the Astros.
Mr. Finner, I met an officer that works security at Verizon Wireless in memorial city mall area. He said he worked patrol with you in the late 80's. Very cool.
Dang right. My neighbor quoted, "I note that no fans went bezerk after the game and rioted in H-Town!" Our fans couldn't be more wonderful!! Go Stros on to 2023 (and back in October in Minute Maid).
I'm going to be honest I thought the way that the Phillies was steamrolling through teams I thought they was going to beat the Astros in 6. But the Astros pitching staff had a different plan, evidently I don't think the Phillies faced a staff like Houston's in winning their previous series. The Astros pitching staff was the MVP of the series with all due respect to Pena.
Anyone wonder how much advertising Minute Maid gets from naming the ball park? Must be huge. Every other sentence says "back at Minute Maid park" or "hey, look at the Minute Maid park from our overhead camera" And BTW: Doesn't H-Town look AWESOME at night -- looks like a giant diamond crusted box with the ball park in the middle as opposed to for example -- Texas Rangers park WAY OUT THERE IN TINY ARLINGTON TEXAS...so sad...
Another Championship -- the Houston AEROS -- 4 time Divison winner of the AHL and winner of the Calder Cup in 1976 and 1977. Loved to listen to Jerry Trupiano do the games...Life is good but WTF is the NHL not giving H-Town a team -- how stupid is that. Maybe the Powers of the NHL watched game 6 of the WS and saw how H-Town fans are crazy about their teams because over the years our teams have won dozens of titles and packed in stadiums / areanas wit millions of fans...
