Harris County Sheriff’s Office Launches Multi-Agency Task Force to improve safety on Highway 99

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez and the Harris County Sheriff's Office, along with other agencies, are taking action to improve safety on Highway 99, which has seen over 2,280 crashes and 15 fatalities in 2024. To address the abundance of dangerous driving, a multi-agency task force with increased patrols, speed traps, and stricter traffic law enforcement has been working the highway. Sheriff Gonzalez held a press conference today to discuss recent results at Houston TranStar. Mike Acosta has the story.
