They were my favorite game bird as a kid for some reason. Now I know more about them and respect them. I know there are a few scattered here and there in southern MN, and same with Hungarian/gray partridge(huns), but they’re both becoming rarer and rarer, even in Iowa where I do a lot of pheasant hunting. For the record I’ve never seen a wild bobwhite but have seen a covey of huns once.
They flew like a covey unit of native Bobwhites. Even the straggler seam to know where to find their escape cover/route.
