You know that beautiful lake with trees/tree trunks in it from his MV of "Qairan Elim" (the one where he bursts into flames). He sings with his feet on some rocks in the lake. When fans went to Almaty for his concert in september, they also took a trip to visit the lake. Kazakhstan has only been independent for a few years longer than Dimash has been alive! He is part of the first generation of Kazakh kids to grow up in their OWN country. I think that brings a stronger and fiercer (in a good way) pride in their country. They value it more because they haven't always had it. And Dimash's parents and grandparents raised him with folk songs and stories from their land and instilled in him the importance of their culture. 🇨🇦

It's hard to put into a few sentences how great Dimash is and how important and necessary Dimash' message is. My wish is that everybody in the world gets to experience the Dimash magic and feel Dimash' heart and soul. For many people, the experience is literally life changing. Not withstanding the all important message of peace and unity, I know that within the first few seconds experiencing his vocals, all we knew and understood about music will be changed forever. Dimash literally smashes all language, genre and vocal barriers and rules. And underpinning all of the above is his humility and down to earth attitude that you just know is never going to change.
This was in Vegas last year. Us Dears didn’t even know he was flying into Vegas until 3 days beforehand. He made no announcement or asked for any fanfare. He just flew 15 hours from Kazakhstan to the USA to sing the anthem and then quietly left. He was honored to do it and didn’t make it about himself. Twitter was ablaze that night. People tweeting “ the real winner of the fight was the guy that sang the Kazakh national anthem”

There are many videos of his whole performance, it was awesome. So much so that the whole stadium roared with happiness at the end of his performance, all fans of both boxers. He also trended on twitter instantly as everyone watching in TV tweeted about Dimash ❤ Dimash travelled half way round the world twice to sing here and get back in time for his epic 4 hour long concert in Almaty Kazakhstan. Dimash is so great, and he and Gennady Golovkin are great friends. He said he would sing the Anthem for him, and he kept his promise. 💖💘

You are absolutely right when you said lots of people were saying 'WHO is THAT?' And 'I WANT to be a KAZAKH!!' Social media lit up afterwrads with comments from all around the world. He was the perfect person for that job and by God didn't he power through it? Magnificent performance. Nobody had ever seen anything like it. I'm so glad someone put scenes from Kazakhstan in the video, because a lot of the video showed him on the big screens rather than him singing live in the ring. There was a slight time lag in the synchronisation of the live singing with the screens and it was reported in the mainstream media that 'he appeared to be lip synching'. As if Dimash lip synchs!! EVER!! This video cleverly avoided that problem. It was utterly amazing. Thank you so much for reacting to it. I always love your reactions xxx
Dimash is not immune to lipsyncing. He uses it to preserve his voice in long concerts, in premieres so the audience feels the song in the way he wants it, and to comply with demands in Russia. Also, for performances at events with inadequate equipment. The issue isnt him lipsyncing, its people twisting it to be a negative thing and misleading people through media.
Dimash's pride in his country, heritage and culture is so adorable but most of all it is healthy. National pride and patriotism unfortunately can so very easily be turned to hate of anything "different". Dimash is a great example how it should be - he is so proud of his routes but shows so much respect to others - I mean which other artist is going out of his way to learn local songs to perform at his concerts?
Dear Fil, the first time I heard this I cried and I'm not from Kazakhstan. But the power, the pride, the honor, the beauty, the voice, it's all just wow. I so agree with your reflections on especially western society. I'm from North-Europe and there's less room each day for your own identity, views, gender, dreams and desires. We are heading towards a grey and onedimensional era.
I missed your enthusiasm Fil. Yup this was in Vegas September 2022. Right before his Almaty concert in Kazakhstan, the guy definitely loves his country and loves representing it.

His gift is such that he, literally, without words, connects to all ages from 0 to 100+ (have you seen babies reacting to his voice) people from any religious or ethnical background, it is amazing to see the impact he has. In your words, Phil, Dimash connects to people's soul, to what is pure and sincere in all of us.
Just imagine the weight of the responsibility Dimash has on his young shoulders. To make his parents and his country proud, to represent Kazakhstan. Perhaps noone has done as much as Dimash has done to put Kazakhstan on the world map _ for all the right reasons. He takes that task seriously and conducts it with such pride and love while also being inclusive of the rest of the world through hus growing fan base.
It's hard to put into a few sentences how great Dimash is and how important and necessary Dimash' message is.
My wish is that everybody in the world gets to experience the Dimash magic and feel Dimash' heart and soul. For many people, the experience is literally life changing. Not withstanding the all important message of peace and unity, I know that within the first few seconds experiencing his vocals, all we knew and understood about music will be changed forever.
Dimash literally smashes all language, genre and vocal barriers and rules. And underpinning all of the above is his humility and down to earth attitude that you just know is never going to change.
This was in Vegas last year. Us Dears didn’t even know he was flying into Vegas until 3 days beforehand. He made no announcement or asked for any fanfare. He just flew 15 hours from Kazakhstan to the USA to sing the anthem and then quietly left. He was honored to do it and didn’t make it about himself. Twitter was ablaze that night. People tweeting “ the real winner of the fight was the guy that sang the Kazakh national anthem”

He also trended on twitter instantly as everyone watching in TV tweeted about Dimash ❤ Dimash travelled half way round the world twice to sing here and get back in time for his epic 4 hour long concert in Almaty Kazakhstan. Dimash is so great, and he and Gennady Golovkin are great friends. He said he would sing the Anthem for him, and he kept his promise. 💖💘

You are absolutely right when you said lots of people were saying 'WHO is THAT?' And 'I WANT to be a KAZAKH!!' Social media lit up afterwrads with comments from all around the world. He was the perfect person for that job and by God didn't he power through it? Magnificent performance. Nobody had ever seen anything like it. I'm so glad someone put scenes from Kazakhstan in the video, because a lot of the video showed him on the big screens rather than him singing live in the ring. There was a slight time lag in the synchronisation of the live singing with the screens and it was reported in the mainstream media that 'he appeared to be lip synching'. As if Dimash lip synchs!! EVER!! This video cleverly avoided that problem. It was utterly amazing. Thank you so much for reacting to it. I always love your reactions xxx
Dimash is not immune to lipsyncing. He uses it to preserve his voice in long concerts, in premieres so the audience feels the song in the way he wants it, and to comply with demands in Russia. Also, for performances at events with inadequate equipment. The issue isnt him lipsyncing, its people twisting it to be a negative thing and misleading people through media.

Dimash's pride in his country, heritage and culture is so adorable but most of all it is healthy. National pride and patriotism unfortunately can so very easily be turned to hate of anything "different". Dimash is a great example how it should be - he is so proud of his routes but shows so much respect to others - I mean which other artist is going out of his way to learn local songs to perform at his concerts?
