- I heard beautiful singing while walking under the hot afternoon sun along Orchard Road. It came from Kai Chek (KC) who has taken a year off to busk, to raise university fees for his Masters degree. I wish him all the best.

KC is quite the man with genuine talent. What with his sitting for his Masters degree and singing ability ,i dare say he'll go far.. This is the 1st time I met KC and he has left a great impression on me. A down-to-earth guy who is raising money to fund his Masters Degree education either in University of Glasgow or NUS next year. He made the point to thank everyone who contributed to his kitty. He welcomed me to film him and sang Perfect as requested by me. We coordinated well, as he started the song as I approached him. I filmed him from a few angles 😊

KC sings very well. This video is best enjoyed with headphones on. I always have respect for buskers who performs to raise fund for school fees. I see students in Bangkok busking while wearing their school uniforms. It takes talent and courage to busk. Leila, thanks for your nice comment.

This guy is very good at his guitar and singing. Standing there under the hot sun everyday is a tough way to earn his university fees. My friend, I have been busy doing work temporary work assignments in Bangkok. I have made some videos here but have not been watching videos for the past weeks. I will resume watching from now. Marie, sorry for this late reply. Happy gave me your channel contact too. This young man indeed has great singing skills and is a friendly guy to chat with. He is delaying his university studies for a year to busk to pay for his uni fees. I heard him singing this song 'Perfect' so beautifully and I requested him to sing it one more time for my recording.

Is a licence needed to busk in Singapore? If not, I would have expected to see more buskers in your videos, as I know there are many musicians in your city. I have a friend who runs a music academy there and has a very busy business with many students. She studied at the conservatory and never wanted to come back to NZ.
Yes you need a licence, need to be auditioned, choose afternoon or evening slots and have to book specified spots to perform. Even the ice cream vendor that you see in the video has to get a licence to sell at that spot. This is Singapore. Law and order in all things which actually stifle creativity. KC was the only busker in the hot afternoon sun. In the evening, more buskers will emerge.
