They also have the same line-up since their first album and i think they wouldn't continue with one of them leaving, cause every single one of them is too important and is making them special.
Brann Dailor - Drummer and Vocalist (The Heart)
Brent Hinds - Lead Guitarrist, Vocalist and Solo Master (The Soul)
Bill Kelliher - Rhythm Guitarrist (The Brain)
Troy Sanders - Bassist and Vocalist (The Glue that keeps all together)

My other recommendation is their album Emperor of Sand from 2017. It is not a fan favourites or sth but in my personal opinion this album is one of their best. All their albums are great, their whole discography is like a trip. First two albums are the heaviest with harsh vocals mostly. The Hunter is the most melodic. Crack the Skye, Blood Mountain and Hushed and Grim are the most progressive. Emperor is like a mix of everything with great songwriting, great solos and a lot of great ideas. Once More Around the Sun is probably my least favourite Mastodon album but even on OMRTS there is a lot of good music.

I really like Emperor of Sand but I personally also really like Once More ‘Round The Sun. The title track gets me so pumped every time I hear it.
I really love Troy’s Bass on Emperor of Sand. I would highly recommend giving Emperor of Sand a listen after Leviathan.

Once more around the sun was the album that really got me into mastodon, I had heard some of their other stuff before that but I didn't really understand it at the time. I would definitely recommend listening to that and the hunter at some point, although half the songs on those two albums are... skippable, the good ones are really good

@@muskrat5oup144 yeah I agree they have more “singles” on those 2 albums. They do not feel as much like a cohesive experience that has to be listened to start to finish. At least for me. It feels like they got back to that more with Emperor of Sand. 😁🤘🏻

If you preferred Blood Mountain, then Leviathan has some nasty riffs and thunderous drums that'll absolutely wreck you. I think you may even find that Leviathan is their most cohesive work. Blood Mountain and Crack the Skye are fantastic, and a step up in production value, but Leviathan is LEGENDARY.

Man, I just like your attitude :D As long you and I have beer, let's do it. And this album is one of the best ever for sure. Ha, funny that's the Ghost of Karelia is my favorite song of this album, I think it's mostly due to the Troy's vocals. Nice Pantera shirt btw.

Every Mastodon album is fantastic. For me the album Hushed and Grim holds a special place in my heart. Last year my wife's mother passed around the same time the album dropped, and I can't listen to it in sadness, I listen to it for hope and I can't lie but Teardrinker makes me shed one every time I hear it.

Awesome man! So glad you enjoyed the album. I wasn’t too into Ghost of Karelia either my first time around. But as I’ve listened to it the album many many times now the song has grown on me as you had happen with some of Blood Mountain 🙂.
Just some interesting facts you may have not realized about the album.
Brann Dailor is the new voice in Oblivion. He doesn’t sing much on this album but he sings more and more on later albums.
The Lead Guitarist is Brent Hinds. He was seriously injured in a fight with the bassist of System of a Down at the 2007 VMAs. He began writing The Czar after waking up from the coma.
Scott Kelly is the Guest Vocalist on Crack the Skye
For your next album it should definitely be Leviathan. Remission is personally my least favorite of their albums.
I do believe you’re really going to enjoy all of their albums. I know I sure do 😁

@Garrett12362 I have a feeling they are referring to the food dish called "garbage plates" that is a Rochester, NY dish. Or at least originated there. And Bill and Brann are both from Rochester.
