As an old Gen X (1977). I like this style of speech. I know the slang but i wont use it because im old and its not my time anymore. Although i was walking past my boss and her 10 year old. She had no idea what he was saying. Let mud cook, fist bumped him and walked away.😂
'74 here. It helps to have grown up gaming, with old fantasy games like Bard's Tale and the Gold Box SSI games, and then FPS death match with Doom 2, Quake, etc. Only the specific words change, the sentiments are all the same. I could never talk how we talked in the 80s and early 90s.
Funnily enough, as a Gen X myself, I totally understood the vast majority of this. Not at first, but on the 2nd play through, I totally got it. An example would be sussy. Which is something we used to say, but just as "sus". And fr, certainly an 80s thing, for real yo. Glad I'm not the only one.

That’s how I felt. I’m in my 30’s, i dont keep up with slang like that anymore. Idc, and I understood this and idk if that’s good and means I can adapt with then times, or if I’m just devolving with everyone else on the planet lmao

A lot of these are just implants into words that seem like they would make sense. Rizzed along, it's just came along but rizz seems to have been the most interchangeable word within that statement to supplement for brainrot.
I don't mind the slang. What I can't stand are when the words "like" and "basically" are said in every sentence. Or when someone says "obviously" to something that isn't obvious at all. Or "literally" when they aren't being literal at all "omg I'm literally dead." I think the new *worst* is the use of the word "unironically." It took me a while to get over anything relating to eating being called "getting food."
I feel old...and I am not that old lol. Definitely laughing at how warped language tends to be. Remember English class in middle/high school? I could barely understand Shakespeare... Please no one do Romeo and Juliet in new gen slang (I'd still watch it though.) 🤣
3:00 I would absolutely say it’s over exaggerated for comedic effect here. Then again, I am a Zoomer, we have our own slang and memes but as we are getting older, Gen Alpha and Gen Z have sort of crossed over on eachother. Me and my friends originally started using Gen Alpha slang ironically because we thought it was stupid, now some of these things just creep into everyday banter.
"I was born 87 years ago. For 65 years I've ruled as Tamriel's Emperor. But for all these years I have never been the ruler of my own dreams....I have seen the Gates of Ohio. beyond which no waking eye may see." And "Find the last of my blood, and close shut the marble jaws of Ohio." These words have guided my destiny since I was 14. And when I entered the plane of Ohio and saw the Cuyahoga river still on fire as it was in 1969. I knew that they United States needed reform. The urban decay of that republic has already blighted Tamriel and Nirn. It should not be allowed to blight this world!
The language survives, because in the end it's what everyone needs, to talk to people outside their subculture. A few new words, or meaning-changes stick from every wave of slang, but the overall grammar and vocabulary continues. The whole point of slangs like this is to confuse parents and teachers, so kids can talk in public and not have the normies understand. But that gets old as soon as you get a bit older, and then standard English whips back into place. So I'm not worried. I'm reconciled to being too old for this bollocks, and I think other stuff is cool and this slang is cringe, so it's fine.
dont know what you are talkign about, i know plenty of Gen Zers that use some of the slang here. like come on, rizz, gooner, edging, chad, ohio jokes, and even sigma i here it all the time lol
Haha damn why did they make the alpha generation such groypers? If this is a thing then humanity needs to make a collective pact to start spending WAAAY less time online. Punishable by state torture, but the torture's all just tickling: it doesn't leave any marks, but it's such an obnoxious ordeal that I think it makes for a sufficient deterrent. I mean even if you aren't ticklish that's a godawful way to spend an afternoon. It might make a few people consider that high fidelity life simulator they call _Reality_ (high-tech whooshing noise).
Hats off to you for rejecting Thalmor propaganda and acknowledging Talos as one of the NINE. Edit: Also, comparing pretty much anyone to Hitler is cringe. Jones has done nothing to warrant that specific comparison. Tate is scummy, but he hasn't done anything THAT evil; either.
